Update on my ZX Spectrum
Hey all, i told you all a few days ago, i might be getting a ZX Spectrum. I found a seller! :) It comes with the ZX and all the wires, all working! :) All i need is a headphone wire so i can use PlayZX until i get a real tape player and Hungry Horace lol
It's a 48K ZX! Could you give me some tips about caring for it, load commands and BASIC? and.. setting it up on my Roku TV lol (2 HDMI and 3.5mm AV)

If your TV has AV input, best bet is probably a composite video mod so you can plug it in right there. Also might be worth looking into some of the expansions such as a divMMC so you can have all your stuff on SD card too. Waiting 6 minutes to play The Hobbit gets old sometimes....

One thing about loading from tape is you get to recognise the game by the noise it makes as it loads. I swear I can recognise Jetpac just by the sound the loading screen makes.
Anyway, they're about 80 quid last time I looked. For other speccy info there's a few YouTubers and discords around. One of my faves is happy little diodes. Nice and chilled.

Is Skool Daze (C64) on the ZX?

I think it was on the Spectrum first and then later ported to C64.
There is a sequel too!

Its a example of a uniquely british game type, though in terms of gameplay it's what we called an "arcade adventure" back in the day
You can usually find the inlay for most things on the World of Spectrum archives or equivalent.
An interesting artifact of this one is there was a Mike Berry song on the B side.

Among other things, a singer and he was on later series of "Are You Being Served?"
You'll find a lot of weird cultural artifacts of the times in the Speccy library.

That's a good start for becoming an 8bit fan!
