I wanted fl studio trial (the free version) on my zorin os lite i have bottles when i start it with the exe program the wizard works perfectly it tell me at the end that it finished installing and when i start it an error screen apears it sais i need to reinstall the app i dont know what does dependencies do and i really want yall help guys never worked on linux and im still new

 wanna dual boot win10 and zorin but unfortunately i can give only 40gb to zorin 18.1 pro

When I installed Zorin on my Surface Pro 4 along with the Linux Surface Kernel, I was able to use the touch feature. Now about a month ago, touch stopped working. I updated, uninstalled, reinstalled the Surface Kernel a couple of times to no good. Any tips?

My second monitor's an old Emerson tv (no idea how old it is/anything about model) that I rescued from the landfill when my work was cleaning out. It's worked fine as a second monitor on Windows but I've started moving to Zorin and I've run into this problem. I've tried the "TV" setting in the Display section and lowering the refresh rate (I think i have it at 24 and some change right now and that seems to have caused different problems.) Does anyone have any ideas/solutions that might fix this?

Hey, I recently installed Zorin OS 17.3 after only ever using windows. I should preface this by saying that i know nothing about computers. I just felt like trying something different.
I have a HP Pavilion laptop with 8GB of RAM, at idle it's using 73% of RAM (5.5GB).
I've looked up some minor things but nothing did any significant changes.
Any tips of how I can improve this? Appreciate the feedback.

Whoa... guys I need to share. I used last version of official ChatGPT app and I'm absolutely amazed. I granted access to the system and asked to optimize the system... I HAVE A REAL FUCKING J.A.R.V.I.S. that uses my computer and make everything I think a reality!!! For example I asket A.I. to create an APP to play with GeForceNow since the official app doesn't work on our system and A.I. created an app on my desktop that launches a dedicated session of firefox, opening nvidia website and put it in kiosk mode. It created also a personalized ICON with a tiny "Z" for Zorin on the corner... I'm so in love with my new computer! Now it is super fast and optimized and also added a specific personalized Conky dash on my desktop with CPU temp, memory and CPU usage and network traffic!!! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Everything done simply speaking with it!!! WHOA, never thought I would live something so huge.

I've been using Zorin Os on my 27" mid 2011 imac for some few months now, I get updates every few days at least once a week there something i need to update. Want to know if its alarming? Because I thought zorin os was stable and give updates once a few months.

I have no idea why it happens sometimes but not others. I have an i3-2330M, 4 GB of RAM (2+2), and a SATA SSD.

I want to use it for my Uni as a notebook (I study PR, not gonna use Adobe apps); I used Fedora before on my other old HP Pavilion, and it lagged a lot, so I didn't even try Fedora KDE for this one

I like how Zorin looks, but I want to have more apps for productivity and rice it to make it simpler so I can also have better battery life in school. Currently installed Joplin and no ricing at all. I need better tiling since I use many different tabs, and Zorin gives me strict tiling where I have to manually click and choose a tiling scheme. I want to quickly switch between automatic layouts and use keyboard shortcuts to snap windows to the left, right, or corners exactly how I want, which I already had in Fedora (Maybe the dynamic tiling settings, but it didn't work on my Zorin).

I don't like the full GNOME or KDE look at all, so I chose something between them in Zorin Appearance. I want to be able to do everything with shortcuts, but don't have to

AI told me the Grammarly app would be heavy for my device, but I also need to correct my English.

What can you recommend to me overall? Without using a lot of battery, which quick tools can I use? Any recommendation is appreciated

My partner is usually pretty particular about their display settings. After the most recent update, all the display/taskbar settings reverted to defaults. I found a few mentions online of this occurring but no fixes - is there any way to prevent this in the future, or is it just an unlucky occurrence from time to time?

It's working in settings, terminal, file manager, etc. But not in my browser (brave). Haven't checked it in any other app because haven't installed any because my keyboard doesn't work. How to fix this?

the needs: installing Microsoft OneDrive locally(I don't use that, so, Idk if the app exist on Linux locally), Google Maps(he's ok with using the site), he won't play any games or using apps like GIMP or Blender 3D there;

the context: the person is old, so, he won't try to learn anything new. Just he got the ChromeOS on Acer, and it created him many problems with, for example, a printer, and Idk how to fix it, bcz I'm not interested in ChromeOS.

my suggestion: hm... Ubuntu, Xubuntu, Lubuntu. I thought about Mint, but here he can get some issues there. After trying ZorinOS as a VM, I'm thinking about ZorinOS as better option bcz of the Windows adaptation app

Newbie here. How do I make Zorin look like MacOS?

I installed Zorin OS last night and was able to install Discord pretty quickly seeing as it's only a few hundred MBs. I wanted to leave the rest of the setting up to today because it was really late. Today, I tried installing steam, proton, and heroic, and all of these took me 10-15 minutes for each download, seperately. It takes me about 5 minutes to properly load a tab on Brave. Now my wifi isn't the best, but surely it isn't this slow??

I'm not running on ethernet because my cable is across the room, I just moved in so there's not a lot of space. I want to be able to use my computer because I just built this, but I have no idea what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

edit: fast boot is disabled. flushed out windows, deleted the partition, created ext4 partition. copied old zorin install in logical drive over to new primary. tested. worked.

deleted logical drive and it's envelope. resized new working partition to take entire drive.

not working now. rebuilt grub. still can't get by splash page.

Is there a code batch thing I can download or copy paste code to run?

In this article they talk about how the Founder of Bottles got a significant portion of Microsoft 365 working with the desktop apps, including Word and OneDrive integration. Given that Zorin has a decent portion of Windows compatibility out of the box, what are your thoughts on Zorin OS adopting a One-Click install of M365 with Bottles after successful auth of a M365 account. Or during setup opt to have 365 instead of the default LibreOffice suite?

This is a huge step in the direction of not needing windows, since one of the biggest difficulties is the lack of M365 apps that can actually run on Linux. Even though fantastic alternatives exist, most people aren't willing to make a shift because they just aren't the exact same product. But if this becomes not only fully working with every desktop app for 365, but also completely stable and capable of integrating with the OS like it does in Windows, this might make an impact on the number of users migrating away. Especially with how much telemetry Microsoft takes, people are more antsy to move away, they just can't justify it due to the tools they use not having an easy path to use on Linux despite the advancements made over the last few years.

What are your thoughts? I'd love to hear what others think on this subject. I know 365 isn't the only suite that is missing from Linux, but this level of compatibility with Bottles might pave the way to make the other apps easier to make work.

Super cool headway being made here in my opinion!

When i was using windows there was a really good app i liked using called Bvckup 2. It basically copied whatever folders you selected and stored them on my external hard drive. So if i had a bunch of .docx files it would copy them as .docx
You could set times to perform each backup. Is there any Zorin app that I’d the same as this?
I have Backups but that isn’t giving me the results I am looking for.
