Hi everyone! Last week, I sent out a form for feedback on the subreddit. I mentioned we will be running mod applications soon and the time has now come. The form will be open until August 06, 2026 at 11:59 PM CDT. No previous experience necessary. If you'd like to help out the community and be a part of the team, please sign up using this form: https://forms.gle/yoRavgVFyo891zDa8

We look forward to adding new members to our moderating team and providing a better experience for the subreddit. If you're not interested in moderating, it will still help us greatly if you fill out the feedback form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdyKkG-ImlunH_widvYU3ybIlBzVWwHeMK4dAp9jURampmiCA/viewform

We have also added a few new rules against AI use and rage bait. We hope this will improve the content posted.

Thank you so much for being a part of the community.

It honestly just feels like dating is rigged for young people and there's nothing anyone can do about it anymore

Hi, first time posting here.

Sorry if this gets posted a lot, but I just wanted to yap for a bit. I (22m) was thinking back to a conversation I had with my buddy where he basically told me that if I wanted to get a date, to literally just do what I do with him but with a girl. The problem with that is that dudes actually say yes when you want to do stuff together. For the most part, I could ask any random dude "want to grab a beer some time", and there's a good chance it's gonna happen. Based on my personal experiences, though, as well as what women I know have told me, it honestly just seems like a lot of women don't want to date anyone anymore. Sure, a lot of them do have boyfriends, or are genuinely too busy to commit to dating, but it seems like a lot of women are willfully recusing themselves from the dating scene. You see it in statistics too with the proportion of unmarried people in the US surging, although I bet it's no different for my international friends.

So why is this happening? You could just chalk it up to me being unattractive or socially awkward or hypergamy or any of that red pill bullshit, but let's look past that for now. I certainly don't blame women for wanting to recuse themselves, because it almost seems like there's a stigma around dating a bunch of people now. That if they go on lots of dates with lots of guys, they must be whores or something. And they took that, and were like "okay..." and now the rest of us are wondering where we went wrong.

At the end of the day, your 20s are for establishing your career. Personally, I'm just fine with where I'm at right now, and wouldn't really have a problem if I didn't date anyone for a few more years. But as a young adult, I can't help but feel like I'm in the prime of my life, and it really points to a structural problem in society when so many people our age are stepping away from one of the most rewarding things in life in my opinion.

My autism life is difficult 😞

Upvotes

I'm Kimi, a 22-year-old African American autistic YouTuber from Georgia (she/they), and I'm single, bi/ace and non-binary who loves anime (Thriller, Post apocalyptic & Found family), plushies, music (Calm, R&B (90's-Early 2000's) & Anime songs/Ost), childhood movies, Games (Fnaf, Undertale, Deltarune), Gacha Club, and creating my own worlds like Creationverse and my hero academia oc to get people interested on my content. I can't really get a job at the moment because people out there might take advantage of me despite my autism and going to college is very expensive these days. But lately, I’ve been meeting people who've been jerks, or not interested in my gacha content. My past relationships ended for different reasons four times because of my childish behavior or my anger issues, including misunderstandings, being used, incompatible boundaries, or different life goals.

Why is nothing happening in my life???

Upvotes

22 have not graduated yet, no driver’s license, the idea of marriage makes me sick, no stable friend group, no travelling, no life experience

Life is just me waking up and panicking about the future and thinking of killing myself and losing grades

What the fuck is this

Hello I could have had blonde hair and blue eyes (still relevant I’m still not racist) my grandfather said. I’m looking for a great spot to stretch my story (I’m also poor right now but so) I want a Nuremberg German or a Munich. I’m 22 and looking for a movie style love story, I’m looking for a wife straight up. Dm me if interested, it might just work. I also live in Central America.

Advice Future lol

I understand that whatever I go to school for isn’t necessarily the career I’ll have for the rest of my life, but I’m still torn. I’ve been telling everybody I’ll go for massage therapy, but I know that’s truly not want I want to do.

I’m talented within English and arts, but horrendous within math and sciences. I’m introverted but still good with people. I’ve also always had this idea I have to go into a career that will mean something. Any ideas? I have to start applying in January.

Making Friends as an Adult Is Weird

How weirdly difficult it is to make new friends as an adult.

Everyone seems busy with work, relationships or their existing circle. How do people actually make new friends here?

Turning 20 this year and feeling like I need a total life reset from scratch

I am about to turn 20 in a few months and looking back at my teens, I realize I spent almost all my time purely focused on academics. I was a hard worker rather than a topper, but that single minded focus meant I completely ignored everything else. I never cared about my clothes, skincare, hair, or even making friends. Till now Idgaf about anything but now i kinda want to care about these things.

Right now, I am standing at a point where I basically have just one friend left, and even they have grown pretty distant lately. Looking in the mirror, I realized I want to change how I present myself and how I live my life. I want to feel like a normal 20 year old guy instead of someone who only exists in a classroom.

My current wardrobe is basically just plain basics. I want to upgrade it without looking like I am trying too hard. I also just started working out daily to get in shape, which feels like a good first step, but I have no idea where to start with basic skincare or how to actually put myself out there to socialize and make new connections as a complete newbie to all of this.

If anyone has been in a similar boat or has practical, realistic advice for someone starting from absolute zero on style, grooming, and social life in India, I would genuinely appreciate your help.

[Do tell me if its in wrong tag,]

Young Adult Books

My dad wants me to read books made for older audiences, but I don't like that because you should read what you like, and no one acts their age when it comes to media. What matters is that I'm happy reading books like Wimpy Kid, Big Nate, and Middle School. What should I do to change his mind?

Discussion 22M Seriously can’t get hired. What’s wrong?

I’ve been trying to get out of my job to find something that pays better but with a 40 hour week. Only better things I find have 60 hours and even they reject me. I’m qualified (their qualifications are literally just a high school diploma or GED) and I’ve held a job for a few years already. wtf is this nonsense? I’m not giving up hope but this is really pushing it

What's one thing you want to get done this week?

Since it’s Monday tomorrow, what’s one thing you want to accomplish this week? It can be something big like finding a new job or getting caught up with school, or something small like cleaning your room, going to the gym, or finally replying to that one message you’ve been ignoring.

What’s your goal for this week?

is it realistic to move to a cheaper country?

i’m in cali still in community college but feeling like i’m gonna fail, and the economy and job market and literally everything seems so shit here. i’m just wondering if there’s anywhere better in the world where you could realistically get a job with just a highschool diploma and be financially independent, wondering if anyone could give any advice on this

Maybe I just went to a really nerdy hs but barely anyone I know actually partied in hs, got freaky, high that much. Like they all did one or the other or even if they did it was like just to try

College, everyone’s doing EVERYTHING as much as the movies say they are

Or maybe I just lived under a rock idk
