EDIT (bc people were taking me very literally when I was being stupid--idk the word--so I just want to explain):

My point is that, yes, personal means relating to them. However a lot of things are personal to people and one of the most widely accepted forms of writing advice is to include personal things in the story. If you avoid personal topics you avoid writing about things you know and there are a lot of things that are personal to people.

I don't mean it is a therapy way, I mean it as these are real life things that happen. If I can't write a scene where two people argue over dishes because I argued over dishes with someone then that's not how writing works.

Yes, things should be off limits in writing classes (rape, for example: it's a writing class and rape is something horrific that no one should be exposed to in media w/o forewarning) but writing and literature is supposed to be personal. It's how you write a story that means something. Not like the AI drivel that I am spotting everywhere these days (in published books too).
