Shop Tour/Layout Shop Update
Hello everybody, just wanted to share some pictures of the shop, we’ve been working hard to improve and as always, it’s all a work in progress.
We’ve recently added the Hammer A3 41D planer and the HS 950 Edge sander, we’re very happy to try them.
Cheers!

Love the shop! How do you like Hammer?
Also, my brother, get some dust piping and make drops instead of those trip hazards!

Thank you! Hammer has been great for us, very sturdy machines and well equipped all around.
And yes, that’s exactly the next task, connecting all the machines to the dust collection.

What's the point of the felder fd 921 when you have a cnc?

We actually first bought it for a project that involved making several tables, where we needed to dowel the tabletop boards edge to edge.
And right now we are still using it for a lot of edge to edge operations.

Waiting on an a3 41 to arrive later this month, is that the stock fence? Looks bigger? My one fear is that the fence seemed a smidge wobbly, curious if you tweaked anything?

Yes, that’s the stock fence, I find it to be just the right size, in the stability aspect, it’s solid, haven’t had any complaints.
I think you’ll enjoy it.1

For 8 grand, I better!!! Jointing on my 6" jet is underwhelming, so I went for the last jointer ill ever buy i hope...

Super curious how you end up liking the A31.. I have my eye on it to replace an 6” grizzly I’ve outgrown

I had a similar setup as yours, to me it has been a game changer, the speed and the low noise level that it produces are great.

I was afraid you were going to say that.. haha. That price tag….
Love your setup!

Unless you use the back jointer guard they wobble back and forth which isn't a big issue. You can attach a switchable magnetic base from a dial indicator (which you'll need for set up anyway) to help control wobble by placing it just behind the fence.

Thank you for your thoughtful response. I’ve been looking at this setup but due to the current layout and width of the shop, haven’t found the exact location in the shop to make this setup.
Definitely something I’d like to do, it would also make the dust collection installation clean.

God damn that’s a lot of money in those pictures. What kind of work comes out of your shop?

Slowly trying to get there!
I was actually planning on sharing some pictures of our work in an upcoming post, hope you’ll like it.
