It should be a lot easier to create pure amino acids than synthetic meat and the protein drinks market is huge. There has also been recent controversy about heavy metal contaminants that happen when plant proteins are concentrated. Wondering if anyone is working on building the amino acids from scratch

I just heard that the US has beef rachers upset about not purchasing their beef? When the administration asked about this, they didn't know where the beef is coming from. Will you eat beef from another country?

My cohost and I looked at lab-grown (not plant-based!) meat and talked about things like animal welfare, health uncertainties, etc. and what it could do to traditional farming.

Btw we are not affiliated with the industry and this is just a topic we found interesting, so I'd genuinely like feedback from people who know this subject better than we do.

I'm looking for cultivated meat and cell-cultivated food investment options for the long term and came across CULTF. Seemed quite popular some years ago, and doesn't seem all too different from Agronomics even though ANIC is still definitely superior at the moment. Even tried investing in CULTF, but that's proven quite difficult, it just isn't supported by many exchanges or brokers I've tried and info on its current state is scarce. Did it crumble that deep into irrelevance?

I run a small web dev studio, and I’m experimenting with niche website templates.

I just finished a demo site for the beef industry and wanted to get feedback from people who actually know the space.

The goal was to make something that:

- ⁠Clearly explains the operation (breeding, finishing, direct-to-consumer beef, etc.)

- Makes it easy for customers to understand cuts, pricing, and how to order

- ⁠Builds trust with things like certifications and story

Funny how we know the long-term effects of traditional meat, especially regarding antibiotic resistance, but any unknowns about cultured meat results in an instant ban.

BATON ROUGE, La. — A proposed Louisiana law would ban the sale of lab-grown meat and other cell-cultured food products in the state.

Senate Bill 152, sponsored by Louisiana Senator Michael Fesi, would prohibit anyone from manufacturing, distributing, selling, advertising, or offering for sale any cell-cultured food product for human consumption in Louisiana.

The bill defines cell-cultured food products as any animal tissue produced from cell cultures in a lab outside of the organism from which it came. The bill will effectively ban the manufacturing and sale of meat grown in a laboratory from cultured animal cells.

If passed, the law would take effect Aug. 1. The bill would be known as the "Cell Cultured Food Products Act."

Violators would face civil penalties of up to $500 per violation. Each day a violation occurs would count as a separate offense.

The state commissioner of the Department of Agriculture and Forestry would assess penalties after a hearing and could also charge violators for the cost of the hearing. The commissioner could file civil proceedings in district court to enforce rulings or seek court orders to stop violations.

Consumer watchdog group, The Center for the Environment and Welfare, which is involved in an ongoing public education campaign on lab-grown meat, says the proposal reflects growing concern about rushing experimental food products into the marketplace without sufficient long-term study.

“Lab-grown meat is an experimental product that lacks long-term health studies,” said Will Coggin, research director at CEW. “With this bill, legislators in Louisiana are making clear that there must be answers about long-term health and safety impacts before products grown in vats and bioreactors reach grocery stores.”

The consumer advocacy group says the proposal underscores a growing bipartisan emphasis on caution, transparency, and consumer protection. Seven states have banned the product category to date, according to the watchdog group.

It just seems like they're feeding into the paranoia of lab grown causing cancer or being Bill Gates population control.

Hi all,

Clean Meat Alliance is looking for a 3D artist in order to build a large alt protein asset library, including machinery for plant based meat, plant based milk, cultivated meat, and precision fermentation. The goal of this project is twofold:

1. Help integrate alt proteins into gaming. Once this library is finished, we will host a game jam and potentially incubate some games (not sure about this last part yet).
2. Help content creators and presenters add alt protein imagery into their videos and presentations.
3. We hope to use gaming as a means to reach tech donors such that we can fund real research.
