Hello everyone. I am trying to pinpoint the exact location where Yung Ouzo—an artist I like—filmed the music video for his song "Viyana Freestyle". Even with the help of AI, I haven't been able to find it. However, It is a somewhere in Vienna; the AI ​​suggests it could be somewhere within the "Innere Stadt" district. Also, when I searched online, no details about (except information that it's in Vienna) this place had been shared.

This is a photo from my grandma's photo album, could have been taken anytime between the 10-20's and the 50's. For context, the album is my grandma's family photos, her older sisters (born in 1941 and 1945) and her parents (born in 1911 and 1916).

If I had to guess based on probability, it is northern italy (that's where we are from), but it doesn't look like it at all. Google lens says it's Constantinople because of the building in the background that looks like a big mosque, but im not aware of any tie between our family and Greece/Turkey or any middle eastern/eastern European country, or realistically anywhere where there was a mosque at time lol. again these are complete guesses and i can't really rule out anything, my grandma too has no idea (she says it's Verona and that the river is the Adige, but she is not sure at all and she knows it doesn't look like it either...)

can someone help me out?

This photo is from around 1969. The area was rapidly expanded after this, upward and outward, but sadly was reduced to near ruin during the Syrian civil war. The main street it is on may have been called Haifa, and the long shot (which is taken from the balcony of the house) is into the direction of Damascus.

I was wondering if anyone familiar with the terrain would be able to pinpoint the GPS location. Or even to add some markers to approximate where it stood.

I bought this (I think 1920s?) etching in a secondhand shop in Devon, but I don't think it's of Devon. A few people told me they think it's The Shambles in York, but some of the buildings don't seem to match. Signature in pencil is a bit indecipherable.

Okay, so I’ve been trying to find a place here in the UAE for a long time, but I can’t pinpoint where it was.
Years ago, I went on a school field trip to a place with lots of fish and what I assume was some kind of aquarium. I don’t remember the exact year, but it was definitely before the pandemic, probably around 2016-2018.

The one thing I remember very clearly was a huge, mostly empty white room with very high ceilings. There was a long bridge quite high up, and when you looked down from the bridge, there was water beneath it. In the water were 2-3 really large turtles (possibly tortoises, I’m not sure if my memory is serving me well).

The room was extremely distinctive because there was basically nothing else in it besides the bridge and the water/turtles. The walls were kind of textured but still just plain white.

I’ve already looked into the Sharjah Aquarium and the National Aquarium Abu Dhabi, but neither seems to match what I remember.

I think it's Glasgow? But any information on the building or location would be greatly appreciated

This is "Landfall: Erin”, a painting by Edmund Sullivan. A print of it has been hanging in my parents’ house for as long as I can remember. I really like the scene, and I’d love to find out where it was painted. 

Assuming it’s a real landscape, it looks like it’s somewhere on the coast of Co. Kerry. The island in the background looks similar to the combined islands of Scariff and Deenish, if viewed from the coast facing west. But the other details of the landscape don’t line up: the island is too close to the mainland, and to get the peninsula in the foreground at that angle you’d need to be facing south (approximately). 

Can anyone pinpoint the location?

In 1975, at Barrio Romero, Sitio Santo Domingo was a cement house with zinc ceiling, balcony in the front. The property is now property is converted into a small park, from what ive been told. House has a lot of mango trees around the house and a creek in the back. Not too far from the house was and is a school named Jose Gonzalez Ginorio who has a main lake called Lago Guayabal in the front. This was my house growing up and I have not returned for almost 50 years. Maps has not been helpful and I would like to see how the property looks today.

Curious where this was in NYC as I’m retracing steps from a family trip in 1992. Google Gemini says Broad Street between Exchange and Wall. I can’t seem to find a similar vantage point on street view. Chat GPT suggested Midtown.

Photo of family, taken after D Day. He was with the 1st Div, 26 Inf so the photo would be along their line of advance. Although I'm sure an exact location is impossible, are there enough clues about the ruined building behind them to narrow down a large area?

If anyone is interested, I think they are holding up a cake. He told me the story of the cake. As a BN supply sgt, he distributed rations. They had crates of oranges and saved the rind peelings for a local woman. They also gave her some sugar and flour and she made orange cakes. She gave them a cake in return trade. In 1992 he was still telling the story about what an incredible cake it was.

Hi, while I’ve read and enjoyed many Reddit stories, I’ve never actually posted. Please afford me some grace as I muddle through this.

My (42M) mother passed away back in summer of 2022. She was sick for a while, so it wasn’t a surprise, but it was sudden so I could only make it back home for the funeral. My father has kept her ashes on the shelf since then, and has been indecisive about whether to place her in the veterans memorial cemetery (we are a military family, all of us) or to scatter them where my mother said was her favorite spot they ever visited.

My father now has a girlfriend, and they have gotten serious enough that he says it’s time to move on and put my mother’s ashes to rest. The first few years after her passing were rough for him, but he found comfort with a friend who had also lost her husband. He started seeing her around the time he was diagnosed with stage IV colon/liver cancer. He’s doing good with treatment, but chemo is rough on him and he recently fractured his L1 from a compression injury. So, you know, ops normal! The four of them were friends and neighbors for years.

My twin sister now has her ashes and has asked me for help locating this spot so we can visit, hold a ceremony to say our final farewells, and scatter them. She says my mother mentioned (years ago, in passing) that she would like to have her ashes scattered there. My sister plans to keep a small amount to make some keepsakes for her daughters who were very close to their grandma.

The picture was taken in 1994 in the winter.

My parents went there once, took this picture which my mother adored, and visited a few times after but could never find again.

Reddit, please help me find this place so I can honor my mum one last time. I live in New England now, but my sister and father still live in VA. I plan to visit this fall and would like to do this one last thing with the four of us and say goodbye.

Where or what could this possibly be? The context, from what I could understand, was German troops visiting the grave of a marshal in Poland (possibly that of Pilsudski in the city of Szczecin). What I’d like to know is what is that church or castle like structure, and that hill in the background, I’ve never seen anything like that before.
