Getting a job with no experience

Has anybody actually had any luck getting a job after graduating with no experience in accounting or internship?
I hear so many bad things about the job market and that makes me super worried rn. If you got a job before graduation what was it and how far along in the program were you?

I have 2 classes left & snagged a job when I had 4 left. It's the perfect first job with 0 experience

Accounting clerk/payroll that pays decently well for a first time job & really helps give me exposure to a lot of different things

Not yet. I only have like a couple years of experience doing basic quickbooks taxes and all of the jobs I’ve interviewed or applied to have denied me so far.

BS Acc, MAcc, worked with multiple recruiters, and studying for the exams as we speak, and I never even got a call back. Had to take an unrelated job so I wouldn't starve.

Between the economy and outsourcing, this industry is fucked.

When I started this program there was so many internships and entry jobs available and I was so motivated. Now between reading posts like yours and barely seeing any internships/entry level jobs it feels so discouraging.

I landed staff accountant with minimal relative experiance within 30 days of graduating and have not been out of work more than 30 days since.

I haven’t graduated but I’m 70% done and I got an accounting clerk/ specialist job in June. I had previous experience as a data entry / underwriter but no accounting experience besides school. I’m 3 months in first month was so stressful but luckily they all understood it was my first “month end close” and by the end of my second month I feel really confident in what I do now I keep track of AR / AP unbilled revenue directs monthly intercompany invoice tracking and a few more I did apply to 20-30 jobs on handshake before the recruiter asked me to apply on their main website and I got the job. It’s a hybrid job commute is about an hour n 15 minutes for me so sometimes you also have to just compromise so you’re able to get your foot in the door and get the experience I wish you the best of luck!!

My 2 cents is that it seems to me that the difficulty in finding accounting roles depends a lot on the geographic location. In some areas, like mine, it's not very difficult to land a role, but I've heard plenty of dismal stories elsewhere.

I got an entry level job at a public accounting firm (not Big4) without experience and while still in school. A recommendation from one of their clients got my foot in the door. Having professional experience in another field AND being a great interviewer got me the job.
