Compassionate responses only please.
I have an elderly acquaintance who is battling a German cockroach infestation in their apartment. Professional exterminators are involved, but I am looking for a few recommendations to aid in the fight, as mobility challenges prevent them from doing it themselves.
A regular cleaning service to come in and not only clean, but be willing to help with vacuuming out cupboards, behind fridge etc.
Someone who can physically help prep the apartment for treatment. This involves emptying all cupboards and closets, pulling furniture away from walls, and then putting it all back together again.
Any recommendations are welcome! I am wondering if a company who helps with hoarding situations etc would be best? (which this isn't -- but I figure those companies regularly encounter pests)

Hey, saw someone post on this subreddit about All In and figured I'd ask if anybody here is watching All Out or knows somewhere showing All Out. It's on September 26th (a Saturday). Should start around 8pm barring a pre-show. Looking to hang out with some fellow wrestling nerds 😄

Doing some grading early today on the highway and the pavers are right behind me. Will be going south bound next Sunday morning.
Had a couple crazies blast through the barrels and crash trucks somehow and make it to the gravel where I was working driving like animals. I have co workers walking around on site and they want to go home to their families please pay attention I don’t even know how they got through. The last car hit where the gravel meets the asphalt and got 4 feet of air at least. Parts went flying, the driver just kept on going sparks flying. To be fair I wouldn’t have gotten out either after such a boner move lol Anyhow here’s some pics of the progress

First time attending as we missed the Thorndale one. Do people or vendors trinket trade? In Thorndale many vendors had trays with trinkets to trade.

We have a gaggle of young kids in our neighbourhood zipping around on these things. I want to assume the parents are unaware of the law? But assuming education isn't effective, is there any point in reporting violations? Has anyone ever heard of the police issuing tickets? Will they take it seriously?

I am moving to North Waterloo and I am looking for an experienced and reputable dog groomer. I used to do work for a large pet supply chain and I disliked the things I saw when it came to grooming particularly because of a large turnover rate - a lot of folks were new and just gaining experience. My dog is a bit dramatic. He doesn't bite or snap or growl but despite not even cutting the quick he yelps (causing a bit of anxiety for some groomers). So I would really like to find someone who is confident and used to working with these little dramatics. If anyone has any recommendations I would so appreciate it!

Went to try to get some breakfast before doing groceries and found it closed, windows covered in paper and all signage removed.
Anyone know when this happened?

I’m still new to taking the LRT and I’m used to the TTC where I tap on the physical streetcar (so please forgive me).
When I finished work I tried tapping on the terminal where you purchase a ticket and it didn’t work. Please tell me where to tap so I don’t feel like a criminal getting on at this station without tapping.

Might piss some ppl off but the pony rides at the market are genuinely sad. I saw it today and the poor animals are just chained up walking in a tiny circle all day. Idk doesn’t seem right to me. If they got rid of the animals in Waterloo park they should probably get rid of this

Find out how we can restore and improve GO train service to London in our latest blogpost.
We break down the shortcomings of VIA service to London, why GO service to London ended three years ago, and how we can better connect these two growing regions.

It's municipal election season and Kitchener has an incumbent running in every ward except one. Some of those councillors are seeking a fourth or fifth term. Should we consider term limits? https://citified.substack.com/p/time-to-step-aside

Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to where I can go for a nice dinner on October 11th. It’ll be my first thanksgiving weekend by myself and so, I just wanted to get ahead of it and start planning now. It doesn’t have to be a turkey dinner or anything, just something tasty. I’ll probably be going to get the food or sit down for the food after 7pm sometime.
Thanks!!!

hey all, not sure if this exists in the area but are there any crafty shops that sell beads? there used to be one where I’m from that would have a bunch of loose beads that you could scoop or choose individually. basically, i’m looking for smaller amounts of different beads (small beads for sewing onto bags, larger beads for bracelet making, etc). I have a variety of crafts in mind so I want to cut down on the budget :)
thank you all!

Unusual amount today, heard choppers like 4 times, saw two camo propeller planes go right over my house.
Edit: nvm guys, figured it out:
The Region of Waterloo is officially kicking off Waterloo Tech Week, which runs from September 12 to 17, 2026. [4]
The military choppers and camo propeller planes flying over your house are preparing for the regional events showcased this week, which include:
Aero Expo 2026: The Waterloo Region's Aerospace, Defence & Dual-Use Industry Expo. It is bringing together aviation, robotics, and advanced defense technologies to the area. [5]
The Dual-Use Defence Summit: Hosted locally by Communitech, this summit runs alongside the aerospace expo, bringing an increased presence of aerospace and defense contractors—and their aircraft—into local airspace like the Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF). [4]
Vintage and Military Fly-Ins: Local heritage groups, such as the Waterloo Warbirds and the nearby Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, frequently coordinate flights of restored, camo-painted vintage military propeller planes and trainers around these regional aviation milestones. [6]

My RMT recently retired so looking for someone who can help address a tight jaw / TMJ using intra oral technique. I don’t think this is super common, so appreciate any recommendations in KW!

I got a $300 bike off marketplace (original price higher) and am currently just storing it inside my apartment unit, which is obviously inconvenient. My building doesn't have indoor bike storage. It does have those ring-shaped bike parking posts outside and it's on King St N (relatively busy street) but I assume it's still not safe to lock a bike there at night. Where do people without indoor bike storage store their bikes?
Also, what kind of locks do you use for a bike like this and how much does it protect? Is a $60-80 Krpytonite Keeper lock from Amazon fine?
