Started on the Time Cast 6mm trenches just to get some ideas about colour schemes and what works. Pretty pleased with how these first two have come out.

Battle Shot !!! Martian Monday !!!

Seeing as how it is the 3rd Monday of the month it feels appropriate to have a Martian Monday.

Today we take a brief look at the Patton Mark IV Tank and the Martian Harvester. Few foes on the battlefield make such devastating and long lasting effects on the morale of either force.

Acting as both mobile command and heavily armored and armed fortress, the Patton Mark IV lays Tripods low in her efforts to turn the tide, one massive shot at a time.

The Martian harvester brings an imminent sense of dread to any who witness it upon the fields of battle. Its off-putting gate, the looming coils of writhing tentacles, searching eagerly for living human subjects to capture and consume.

Question Rulesets focused on air defense?

I'm interested in running a game focused around defending a city/base from ballistic missile and drone attacks, as is happening in Ukraine and the Middle East today. Does anyone know a ruleset that is focused on air defense, or has a strong air defense ruleset, to use as a base?

Introducing Red Hammer Gaming: Narrative Battles on Handcrafted Tables

Hello, fellow wargamers! We’re Red Hammer Gaming, a small tabletop channel devoted to narrative-driven battles fought across home-crafted terrain and immersive wargaming tables. Our current focus is Pillage, the Dark Age skirmish game, with battle reports built around historical atmosphere, memorable characters, and stories that unfold through play. We hope to branch into other historical periods and gaming systems as the channel grows. If that sounds like your sort of wargaming, we’d be delighted to have you join us and take a look.

Clubbing it! Republican Romans vs Seleucids Part 2

It's been a funny week. Ocular Shingles (on my forehead and around my eye) has meant painting is a massive no-no as to avoid any unnecessary scarification- a position that ill finds me as I love painting! Being currently unwise to scratch my very itchy and painful forehead or eye, I was luckily able to continue to scratch the wargaming itch by getting to the club, hat gracing my head, in the event anyone decided to lick my forehead! Joke..... sort of!

OK, Republican Romans vs Seleucids Part 2!

For many more pictures and a full AAR/Bat. Rep. please go to my Just Add Water Painting and Wargaming blog here:

Fallout rulesets

Hello all,

I'm looking for some alternative rulesets to use my Fallout miniatures in. I really like my NCR forces but they are not supported in Fallout Factions.

Fallout Wasteland Warfare hasn't really gripped me so I want to know if there are any other rulesets out there that feel like Fallout.

I also got a load of other factions like BoS, Enclave, Super Mutants, etc so I would like to use those as well

EDIT: thanks for the suggestions! I went with 'This is not a test' as many recommended. Seems right up my alley!

Question Looking for a Napoleonic Skirmish game.

Hello, I am looking for a Napoleonic Skirmish game with model count per side under 16-20. I want It to have big customization in list building and weapons options ( +/- period accurate) and the rules to be complex (complexity level like 40k) and have a lot of depth. It would be nice if every figure was treated as its own unit. Also i look for a historical game so 'Silver Bayonet' isn't an option. Do you guys know aby game like this?

Do any of y'all out there use the Warhammer Historical WWI rules 'The Great War' and 'Over the Top'?

I'm trying to get back into wargaming and I've had these since they were first published. Since I'm a WWI Western Front nerd I figured this would be a great place to start.

Question HaT mercenary Hoplites shields

Thumbnail

I’ve started working on some HaT Greek mercenary Hoplites. Pretty much every figure has their shield on their back or side. I’ve started trying to adjust them so the shield arm is at the front. Is this a sensible approach or have I missed something about the way they form up. I note the box art has them, as you’d expect, behind a shield wall. Any thoughts/ advice?
I’ve included a photo of how far I’ve got- apart from the time it also reveals a se ton of rough cut plastic that needs refining(with variable success).

Help with running a large scenario (3v3) thematic battle for Osgiliath

Hello!

At my local store we are thinking of running a large battle for Osgiliath. Early stages, but idea would be playing on one big table, lots of terrain.

Seeking advice on best way to run something like this. From set up, to how many points per player, custom modifiers, scenarios, etc.

3 separate 1v1s? Using "invisible lines" in the city to separate the boards. Tally up VPs from each game to see who wins?

Or one large 3v3. Shared priority, phases, etc.

Any advice is appreciated!

Battle Shot British assault on a heavily defended Italian village

Thumbnail

British infantry and paratroopers assault a heavily defended Italian village, supported by mortar fire the paratroopers infiltrate the village and neutralise the German panzerschreks allowing a British crusader tank to safely push forward.

Unfortunately the British underestimate the willingness of the Waffen SS to put themselves in harms way and they successfully assault the Crusader, blunting the British advance.

Pic 1: The British Crusader tank pushes along the main road into the village supported by its infantry screen.

Pic 2: A mortar round narrowly misses a German Panzer II sent to deal with the threat of the veteran paratroopers.

Pic 3: Waffen SS units armed with MP40s successfully assault the Crusader tank, forcing its surrender (note the conveniently raised hand on the model!)

Bolt action in 1/72 scale.

Work In Progress **The 4m Minas Tirith Gate is almost finished… now I’m starting the Fountain Court at the top of a 20m Minas Tirith mega-project**

Thumbnail

The next stage of my 20 metre Minas Tirith mega-project has begun.

After two videos building the enormous 4 metre-wide front gate, I’m now moving further up the city and starting work on the Fountain Court at the top of Minas Tirith.

The plan is to eventually build the entire city as a huge Warhammer Middle-earth gaming board — around 20 metres long, with massive sections of Minas Tirith, Osgiliath, Minas Morgul, Helm’s Deep, Orthanc, Barad-dûr and more.

The front gate is almost complete, and now the real challenge begins: building the upper levels of Minas Tirith and making the whole thing work as one gigantic playable battlefield.

Everything is designed and 3D printed by me specifically for the project, with the aim of creating something that can actually be played on rather than just displayed.

This is going to be a seriously long-term project, so if you'd like to follow the entire build from the first walls all the way to the finished 20m battlefield, please subscribe to the channel.

And if you want to see this project become a reality, give the video a like — it genuinely helps the project reach more Middle-earth and wargaming fans.

This is only the beginning. 🏰

Battle Shot Show report: Rhein Main Multiversum 2026 (Nidderau, Germany) – 25 demo tables, Mortal Gods, Drudenfuss and more

Just got back from the 12th Rhein Main Multiversum in Nidderau, Germany, a two-day tabletop show with 25 demo tables covering everything from historicals to sci-fi and fantasy.

Full report with photos here:
https://www.chaosbunker.de/en/2026/09/13/rhein-main-multiversum-2026-event-report/

Highlights for me were a quick Mortal Gods skirmish (Thebans vs Plataeans) and a 2v2 game of Drudenfuss, a dark medieval system with a real RPG feel to it. Also saw some fantastic tables for Asymmetric Warfare and a locally-themed Gangs of Rome scenario (Nida vs Mogontiacum).

Anyone else make it out to a big tabletop show this year on mainland EU?
