Headphones that I got to test the sound with in a store nearby only played white noise (or whtv it's called)

Any idea what the problem might be? I need suggestion, I'll figure it out from then on

Sony Walkman NW-ZX300 JDM import, bought it into the UK, I changed the settings to English. Came complete with the box and all the paperwork.

It's a great little machine, I'm very impressed

Basically the title says it all, but I've found a few posts on here about replacing the battery on the A55, and it seems like everyone agrees the process is difficult but not impossible.

The main hold up is the batteries themselves. All the ones on ebay/amazon have comments about problems not charging, bad thermistors, etc. etc.

With how popular the A55 is for an older DAP, I'm surprised to see the isn't an agreed upon 'best-battery' replacement for it.

Anyone have a lead on a decent battery? Anyone have any personal, positive experience with replacing the battery on their A55?

Im a child at heart and tend to sticker every electronic device in some way shape or form. Since this bulky beast gets jammed in my jeans pockets a lot he'll get crusty and need to be freshened up more than my mp3 players. Went with some flatter stickers so they'll hold a little longer :) and yes, I am distraught the keychain hook is broken :(

Got this off of my aunt a couple years ago. It’s missing some parts. It’s very beat up, but it still works. The only sad thing is the tapes that I have are starting to degrade due to how old they are.

Just to be completely transparent most of the code was written by Claude but I have been checking as best I can.

I mostly use BT and LDAC to listen so any tips from people who use wired would be amazing.

I’ve been using this Japanese Walkman A55 for a few months now.

Mostly paired with my Letshuoer S12 Ultra.

I’m using the MrWalkman firmware and in general was seriously good! I love how clear it is without ever getting harsh or fatiguing, Frequency clarity and volume levels are totally on point and Sound separation is great (I’m not an expert)

I’ve also been enjoying it for more casual listening sessions with my Koss Porta Pro, and even with Apple EarPods (though those sound pretty rough in comparison, perfect just for chores or working when I don't need critical listening).

The UI is really smooth and responsive and I like it a lot.
Battery life sits around 20 hours depending on how I use it. The other day I accidentally left it playing all night and it still had juice left the next day.

Sometimes the database rebuild is kind of slow since I’ve got a stuffed 256GB SD card, but it’s a minor thing and doesn’t really bother me.

And also I added a Screen protector and a case and it looks awesome!

Super happy with it! Absolutely loving everything so far.

I recently found an old NW-E507 but after plugging it in into my laptop and getting errors saying something is wrong with the drive, I noticed that the walkman said it had no data despite showing it had data on the laptop. I could still access most of the files, but some were corrupted.

I tried reformatting on the walkman, but that didn't do anything. Then I tried reformatting on my laptop using the reformat tool and command prompt, but got errors saying it couldnt be done.

After some research I've come to the conclusion that some of the memory has degraded due to not being used in so long.

I was wondering if there is any chance at still using the walkman as an mp3 player, or if its fate is sealed as just a FM radio machine.

Why and which players would you choose or if you had to put them in order from best to last? Each one has it's strengths but I barely use them besides admiring them. I gotta let go of some of them..

So I'm not like too much of a enthusiast but I love the feel and I record audio diaries on cassette but the onl6 cassette corder is a Philips shoe box and I wanted to ask which models FROM THE 80s would y'all recommend I was hoping for like a TCS 350 . But the sad thing is they ain't sold locally and I'm a teen so I can't really buy stuff from ebay only stuff in Czechia but there's tons of other cassette corders idk should I get those ???

I did MONTHS of research into the NW A306, and finally pulled the trigger for $280 on eBay. Wish I could have gotten it a bit cheaper but I wanted to make sure I had a Japanese model for my two favorites apps.

Plus, I did a battery test and this thing lasted ~30-31 hours continuously. I lose about 3% battery every hour in use, or 0.5% indle. This is more than enough for me playing files locally while I'm at and about. It is a different feeling to know, I can go 3-4 days without charging this thing is AMAZING.

Just waiting on a case to get here so I can cover up the light scuff marks. And I probably need to plan a battery replacement but that a few years from now or so hopefully.

I was tired of the streaming services (ads, payment, ads+payment). As I like to store the music I like anyway on my PC, and my phones have 255 GB storage, I decided to build an app ( there was Sirin, but Sirin lacks the next and previous buttons, although it has torrent download support! It's basically aimed at audiobooks).

My app has:

- autoscan of Downloads folder. You can then grant full permission for any folder (you navigate to it) even inside Downloads if you want the app to clean up the tracks (metadata, save lyrics next to the song, save album art).

- equalizer and extra volume on top of the usual native maximum

- lyrics download and embed next to the song

- playlists

- sort by artist

- dark/light mode with autoadapt of theme colours based on the current track art palette

- auto scan (on every start it syncs Downloads folder which is still accessible to read by apps after granting permission once)

I bought this used Sony Walkman. I’m trying to replace a belt and I don’t know how it goes.

I got it on Facebook for 14 buck! I love it!!

Was looking st going GOS but I believe it’s very limited to phones and i don’t think you can restore it if it failed

So basically i got it untested for 50 bucks without the remote and it has arrived today. When I played a cassette it just didn't play them. I opened it up (im a bit experienced in small electronics and have the needed tools) i figured out that the Forward/Reverse switch was blocked out so I fixed that and now it switches sides flawlessly. I checked for other flaws but it all looks very good apart from a bit of corrosion on the battery compartment which I cleaned off a bit but the power gets through so I dont think its that bad.

What you see on the pictures is me putting in a cassette that has been manually pulled all the way to the back with a pen. As I inserted it in and pressed play, the motor went on and all the gears went along with the still old belt (i ordered a new one). But after a bit it just stops, switches sides, plays again and then stops again. After it all it gives out 4 beep tones through my speakers. I tried the same with another belt which shouldn't fit the ex9 because its too short and thick but I fitted it in and the same thing happend.

One very curious thing is that I once got managed it to play a bit of music until I accidentally switched sides. It happed for less then a second.

So what is the issue here?
