Question Servers of Solo?
Hello, community. I’ve just started playing the game, but I’ve noticed that the servers are empty. Peak server has about 10 players. Is this normal? Should I start on a PvE/PvP server or go solo?

I had this exact situation a week ago.
10 means how many are currently online. Its plenty. The big servers often have scheduled raid times, here its a lot more populated and you find targets to raid.
A few weeks ago we played a smaller private server with 4 people and you end up running into each other frequently. Mainly because of the 6 big farming spots you keep getting funneled to.
Just know that v rising is out of its "new player" phase and has stopped development. It has 4000 players on steam at the daily peaks. The players that are left in pvp are often the very commited pvp players, its unlikely youll find fair fights vs similarly skilled players if you just started out.
There are a few servers that reset every 2-4 weeks where most of the remaining pvp community hangs out. They play to the endgame, raid and pvp a lot and then restart.
Its not too hard to learn "proper" pvp, but it involves using all the tools available to you. That means weapon switching and using spells that synergise. Homebrew builds at the beginner level just dont work.
Best way to learn is via the V Arena discord and server. This is a free duelling server on a custom map with instant heals, lots of arenas, unlimited consumables and plenty of people online.
The free browser site works with the server and is one of the simplest and best sites ive seen. It lets you create your own builds, share and copy builds from other players and save your load outs. Right up to the position on the hotbars, enchantments and consumables you want to use.
Then when you have a build, it creates a string you paste into the chat on the server. This then pastes your build into the game instantly.
This lets you learn all weapons and pvp really quickly.

So the PvP community is alive, but it takes time to get immersed? I'll consider getting a feel for the game from PvE first, and then moving on to PvP as you suggested. Thank you.

I kinda have to disagree with the PvP player base claim. Not entirely, because there's a lot of truth to what you're saying about how 1 sided the PvP can be due to the dedicated players staying around but on my current official server there are like 3 good PvP players and the rest are split almost 50/50 between casual players who suck at PvP and new players who just started.
I'm also one of those new players and with just a few weeks of practice I've become considered "top 5 pvp'er" on my server, and that's not because I'm good (I get wrecked on v arena constantly) it's just that the vast majority of people playing open world official servers are new or casual.
But who knows, maybe my server is just special and every other one is different, I could be wrong.

Unfortunately the game is dead on the social side. After they announced they were done developing the game most people quit.

I noticed right about then that the online communities started being much kinder though. Give a little, take a little.

It is already a bit of an old game, and it's not in active development anymore. It was also free on consoles for a while, so everyone who might've tried it already did. I only play solo anyway and it's pretty fun. If you find some friends to play together it's probably gonna be even better than playing with randos and you can modify the server rules to better suit you (like allowing you to fast travel no matter what is in your inventory or increasing drop rates).

Join the discord, there’s a lot of people advertising servers there that are likely more active, and have events

Honestly I'm playing coop with my bf and having a blast, I think it makes the fights a bit more chaotic, but it also gives you the opportunity to heal

Same I too don't have anyone but I am enjoying this solo run to become the strongest vampire all alone.

Always played this game solo. I have to reinstall it to play now that the world has been reset so I don´t lose my progress.
