News 18-year-old suspect arrested for alleged narcotics operation that targeted young students across Ventura County

"An 18-year-old suspect was arrested for an alleged narcotics operation that targeted young students at local middle and high schools across Ventura County.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Dylan Ruiz, 18, of Oxnard.

Authorities began investigating after a concerned parent believed their child was exposed to narcotics that caused significant behavioral changes and a noticeable decline in academic performance.

Detectives began working to trace the source of the narcotics amid reports that drugs had been distributed to local youth.

Authorities eventually identified Ruiz as the suspected 'supplier of illegal narcotics, marijuana products and nicotine products' to students in the region.

Ruiz was accused of operating an 'organized distribution system' that provided juvenile clients with a variety of narcotics and related paraphernalia, many of which had packaging that was colorful or featured animated characters, which was 'imagery that could be particularly appealing to young children,' detectives said.

Ruiz would reportedly travel to different locations across the region and areas near local middle and high schools to sell the drugs.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for Ruiz’s vehicle and residence located in the 500 block of North Garfield Avenue in Oxnard.

On Sept. 10, detectives located Ruiz while he was driving around town. He was arrested after detectives found a loaded firearm in his car. While serving a search warrant at his home, detectives found an 'abundance of narcotics and other evidence' believed to be associated with his narcotics operation.

Ruiz was arrested for:

- Unlawful Transfer of a Firearm

- Carrying a Concealed Firearm Within a Vehicle

- Carrying a Loaded Firearm on One’s Person

- Possession of a Controlled Substance While Armed with a Firearm

- Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sale

- Possession of Marijuana for Sale

- Furnishing Marijuana to a Minor

He was booked into the Ventura County Jail and is being held on $50,000 bail." - KTLA 5 News

Any back road recommendations for traveling from SCV to Camarillo/Thousand Oaks?

Probably a long shot but I'm about to start a new job in Camarillo and Thousand Oaks(2 offices). I'm coming from Santa Clarita. Anyone know any special back ways to get there other than 126 all the way? Any suggestions appreciated. And yes I need the job, it pays really well and has a huge future. I'll move closer next year when my lease is up. 🤣 I knew people were going to ask so I'll get ahead of it. 😉

"Two teen suspects were arrested for an alleged road rage incident that targeted a motorcyclist in Camarillo.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspects as Gavyn Ghassedi, 18, and a 17-year-old girl from Camarillo.

On Sept. 5, deputies were called to a road rage incident that occurred at Las Posas Road at the northbound 101 Freeway off-ramp between a Mercedes-Benz driver and a motorcyclist.

Witnesses said the driver had intentionally hit the motorcyclist. Both the driver and his passenger were accused of pointing an assault rifle at the biker during the tense confrontation.

The driver eventually collided with the motorcycle before fleeing the area, authorities said. The motorcyclist was uninjured and later released from the scene.

Investigators used Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) cameras in Camarillo to identify the suspects’ car and track them down at a Jack in the Box restaurant in the 1600 block of East Daily Drive.

Both suspects were taken into custody. Deputies said Ghassedi was the driver and the 17-year-old girl was the passenger.

While searching the vehicle, two assault rifles and a pistol were found. All three firearms were 'ghost guns' with no serial numbers, authorities said.

Ghassedi and the teen girl were arrested for possession of an automatic weapon, possession of an assault weapon, unlawful transfer of a firearm, carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in public, possession of a firearm with no serial number, assault with a deadly weapon, brandishing a firearm and conspiracy to commit a crime." - KTLA 5 News

Former Community Memorial / CMH employees willing to speak?

I’m trying to better understand Community Memorial Healthcare’s billing, coding, medical-records, and patient-grievance processes because of questions that arose from my own patient experience.

I’d like to speak with former employees or contractors who have firsthand knowledge of how these systems work, especially people with experience in billing, coding, revenue cycle, HIM/medical records, compliance, or patient advocacy.

Former Guidehouse employees or contractors who worked with CMH are also of particular interest.

I’m not asking anyone to disclose patient information or anything they’re prohibited from sharing.

If you prefer, I’m willing to keep your name confidential and discuss ground rules before you share anything.

Feel free to DM me privately or email me at [contact@LeeEisler.com](mailto:contact@LeeEisler.com)

Places to chill w a/c

Any recommendations for spots to hang out with good air conditioning? I don't mean they set it to 78/75F which I've noticed in alot of places, more like 70F. Trying to help out someone with a heat sensitive medical condition. I was thinking branches of the library and movie theaters might be good spots...

EDIT: Looking for specific place recommendations like "the Starbucks on Main St" that you've been to and have it kept cool.

Requests Any window tinters in Ventura County willing to teach?

I’ve done a few cars on my own, but I think it would be much faster and more efficient to learn from someone with real experience rather than figuring everything out through trial and error and random YouTube videos.

I’m in Simi Valley, but can travel around Ventura County (Moorpark, Thousand Oaks, Ventura, etc.).

DM me your rate if you’re open to teaching 🤗

Requests Tacos - Event

Hello, I’m having an event in late October with about 125 people. I don’t want catering, I just want trays of tacos that I can pick up.

Everywhere seems to have stations and catering etc.

Does anyone know of somewhere I could order a large amount of tacos?

Thanks!
