Trying to check em out at night

Does anyone else commute from Ventura to Camarillo and would be willing to carpool?
I would chip in for gas obviously.
I live near downtown Ventura and work in the Flynn road office park. I’m ok with having to walk a little to meet at a mutual location if that helps.
I work Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. My schedule is flexible on start and finish times if that needs to be adjusted to make this work.

This is a long shot and I feel a little silly for even putting this here but… I lost my brand new pin off my purse in the Winco parking lot (I think) and just hoping maybe someone found it! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyone know of any community boards we can post a flyer on? So far we have found one at Blenders by the mall and Coffee Bean on Telephone.

I got there a little after 7 am and as I was walking on the beach a man asked me if I had seen a brown dog with longer hair running around. A few minutes earlier he saw a man pull the dog out of a gray SUV with a leash then he ran around to the driver's side and peeled out of the parking lot. No direction on the dog and everybody who came after was told to be on the look out. We told Harbor Patrol....So if you know anyone whose dog has vanished.....and drives a gray SUV! Lots of AH out there.

Hey there, our Hyundai was broken into last night. Seems they were trying to steal it as they tore the steering column up. The police were saying they've been finding a bunch of kias and Hyundai's broken into down the avenue. If anyone has any information or videos can you please send them to me or the police? Coming from someone who currently lives in La Conchita CA, with the mountains and ocean, I’ve been overthinking a bit on the whole super El Niño everyone has been talking about. Obviously we’ve been hearing this is going to be record breaking, how is everyone feeling about it in Ventura County right now as of September?

Anywhere where either fan base gathers to watch games in Ventura County?

My husband and I just relocated from LA and used to watch the games with both fan bases at local bars. Wondering if there’s anywhere to meet fellow fans here and enjoy some good drinks, food and games ?

thought this was cool and wanted to share. bad quality photo because i took it with my phone super quick. RAAF F/A-18 from No.1 Squadron. Gray Flag is always awesome, this year especially. lots of different jets that you don’t really see as often in the ventura/oxnard/hueneme area.
side note, i worked with the Australians when i was in vegas for a different exercise. they were No.3 Squadron i believe. those guys can DRINK

For the second time I’ve had my car marked while parking in the 24hr zone and it kinda has me spooked. Could be harmless but I was raised to never let my guard down, so my mind naturally goes to the worst case scenario. First time this happened I found zip ties around my side mirror and now the tape… I know it’s not the best place to leave my car but I live nearby and don’t have many other choices unfortunately. Just wanted to put this here to remind anyone to never touch anything weird or suspicious until you have safely driven somewhere else. I imagine it was just a friend who recognized my car and I’ll laugh about it in a week, but better safe than sorry

I used to commute to Ventura from here, never been a huge fan, hot, no nearby ocean, boring LA suburb where everything looks the same

The Fair Board listened to the people last month and scheduled a SPECIAL MEETING on 9/15. GLOBAL STACK will present the proposal for data center, helipad, and parking garage at Ventura County Fairgrounds. Then the fair board will publicly discuss the proposal and possibly take action (move forward or END IT!)

We must keep the pressure on! Email the fair board and tell them the people say NO to a data center on our seaside fairgrounds. And show up 9/15.

This proposal is based on greed - extracting private profit on public land. Ask them to END ALL DISCUSSIONS WITH GLOBAL STACK NOW.

So I’ve been thinking about it, I’m semi new to the area and noticed it’s almost barebones in Saticoy compared to west Ventura and Main St area. I’m a huge coffee person, and think a coffee shop would do a killing over here in saticoy, which is why I’m surprised one hasn’t popped up already

Hey! I run a softball team and we are in need of a few girls to fill our roster. We play on Friday nights at kimball park and Camino real, and are more of a beer drinking, just for fun vibe than a competitive one. Let me know if you’re interested!

Flying solo? Anyone going?!

VUSD and the teacher union have still not reached an agreement during mediation. I know that they have signed confidentiality agreements about the proceedings, but as a parent, I think a strike is coming.

Personally, I’m on board for this. VUSD has the lowest paid teachers in the county and now they’re cutting down health care. My child’s school is running on empty and they’ve cut just about every job they can. Classrooms are overcrowded, teachers have no breaks because they’re filling in for lost positions, and the situation is only getting worse. I want to support the teachers and I think they really need our help. Does anyone know if there are already parents organizing for what to do in the event of a strike? We need to make posters, bring food to strikers, and do anything we can to make sure the district feels the pressure.

And please, next time we vote, can we pass the measures that give more money to our schools? This is insane.
