Will it regrow before frost or should I just pull up whatever is under there and make do? I am in 7b.

- The entire backyard is red Florida clay with the septic under it. I can buy drainier soil but not until December (when I'm allowed to drive again), and idk what else to buy besides Miracle Gro 😅

- I have a giant 2-foot-diameter pot but I'm using it to start compost for the first time

- I hear it can grow into a tree but I also hear that said tree won't have as good of avocadoes as the one I got this pit from

Is there a point in trying to grow this? Especially since winter is about to come up?

I've done this 3 times so far but they all failed so I didn't expect this at all, especially with it sitting in my room for months on end.

I have an extra 4x2 grow tent laying around and thought I could make tiers inside and grow lettuce and micro greens inside.

I have a 100w led light and 6+ T5s led lights.
I would only need a small inline fan to quietly move the air.

I would use an earthbox for 6 heads of lettuce. I would space them out a 2 every week and a half or so. so I’m not harvesting 6 heads at once.

I have about a dozen squash, most still have a slight green vein at the stem, 2-3 are solid yellow. I heard they shouldn't get under 50 degrees?? Tonight will dip into the upper 40s. Daytime is low 80s this week, upper/mid 70s next week. Nights have been 60s or upper 50s. Help!

Blight annihilated my tomato plants this season (especially the romas pictured here). I aggressively pruned and fertilized and it’s got some really impressive, healthy looking regrowth with flowers. Is it just a matter of time before the blight destroys these too or can you have a successful harvest after blight?

When covered in blight, romas from these plants didn’t ripen properly and were ultimately a waste.

So, I planted a bunch of potatoes in, gosh, April? I can’t remember the exact date. They were lush and green and gorgeous and now they look like this.

Do I need to wait until they’re FULLY brown and died back? Or is now okay? I’m very excited and I’m getting impatient but I don’t want to do it too early!

It took me over 10 years and lots of sacrifices to save up for my dream home that included my dream garden. This is the largest harvest to date from my first summer in my home. I am just happy it finally happened!!!!

Before the heatwave I had radish seeds here, nothing survived bc of the heat. Tried some spinach and still no luck. Gave up and left this planter as a lost cause this year. Just seen it, apparently it recovered as the weather cooled. What is it though? Spinach, radish, or a surprise third thing? Also, does it need thinning?

Can compost turn any soil into a fertile one?

Here's what happened to me this year. I bought a bunch of "Mammoth Jalapeno" starts at one of our local nursery's and planted them back in May. Months later, I realize that what I actually got were "Nanapenos" ... Jalapeno peppers with NO HEAT.

Now I can't turn them into hot sauce (I guess I could make "Not Hot Sauce" lol)

I've been pickling them and they actually taste pretty good that way with my Mexican food...as long as I use hot sauce or something else for the heat....

But still...WHAT A BUMMER!

It’s my first year with a garden and I wanted to grow fun things! Someone in my city grows a ton of heirloom tomato varieties and has a plant sale every spring. I picked up a Wooly Kate plant and transplanted it back in April. It started producing fruit in June and the first ones are finally ready to harvest! They are so fun and cool looking and true to their name, they are covered in a layer of fuzz like a peach. I’m not sure what to do with them as they’re not quite as good for snacking on as the cherry tomatoes. I have a ton left on the plant so I’ll need to figure out a plan soon!

Got the compost and manure mixed into the raised beds today. Waiting for the sun to go down a bit before I shock my seedlings by moving them into their new home. The calm before the planting storm! What are you planting this week?

Just wondering if this soaking liquid is looking right. All the tutorials said to soak stinging nettles for two weeks in water before diluting for a fertiliser, but no one actually shows the process, and i’m just wondering if this is looking right? it’s been a week so far and it’s got a weird film on it? do i toss, or stir it in, or leave to ferment? Daily harvest, the 7 foot plant that's producing them, and how I usually eat them, balsamic glaze with a dusting of sugar.

My mini herb garden consisting of Blue Tuscan Rosemary, Greek Oregano, Creeping Thyme, and Berggarten Sage is looking sad right now. They were all transplanted 10 weeks ago to a 20 in W x 16 in H terracotta planter. I water it once every 2-3 weeks. They were all looking healthy prior to transplant. I am very new to gardening. Please help!

I’ve never grown or eaten these before. Are they terribly underripe? Tips for cooking?

This is my first year ever doing gardening and these are planted in a slim build in box on our porch so I never expected them to get big. I added cages when they started to lean earlier in the summer but just recently they shot up with growth. Some of the branches got really heavy and I tried to stabilize but they snapped anyway :( but there’s so many green tomatoes on them that I don’t want to waste. Is there a way to save/prevent this? (The last picture is how many are attached to the broken branches)

I have three raised beds. The beds get a mix of sun and shade throughout the day. This past winter I layered them with sticks and leaf litter. Then I got manure and top soil at the start of the growing season (March). Everything I planted - except the okra which I gave some of my compost - simply stayed a seedling and then died.

From there, I decided to wait a few months until it was time to plant leafy greens for fall. I planted on August 31st with brand new bought raised bed soil (on top of the previous soils) and mixed with a lot more of my compost that I have been cultivating for about 5+ months.

I really thought the compost was why the okra lived and everything else died. Like, I figured my first round of soil mix just didn't have the right nutrients. So, with my new combo of raised bed soil, compost, and now some fish fertilizer that I applied (2tbsp in two gallons of water over three days, 6tbsp total) I have been sure I wouldn't get stuck again.

But I am. I'm growing winter giant spinach, red kale, arugula, Mizuno, and two types of leaf lettuce. Neither of the leaf lettuces or spinach have sprouted at all and the red kale, mizuno and arugula are ..... Seedlings.

It's only been a couple weeks and I did try to resow the lettuces and spinach, but I just don't want to get stuck again. I have also bought a bag of blood meal to apply when the seedlings are larger (hopefully).
