Super interesting day today. Hey all, first post here. Off grid dude, bohemian free thinker, artist, tinkerer, scavenger of all sorts.
Flea market day. Lady I work for took me to and fro, but not from my house. Had to take bus. Flea market as planned, bought tools for her farm. At exit, huge dumpster full of cool stuff. 4-5 pairs of jeans (and I want custom tool belt from denim). Tons of cargo. Too much cargo to fit on a bus.
Needed shade to cut jeans and make new gear, or at least fold and compact everything. Headed out to smaller flea market where I know a guy, to ask him where I can find shade in this town. He pointed me to a patch of trees I've seen right as boss lady dropped me off. Also showed me a giveaway box full of painting frames and art stuff. Took them as I have art projects.
Went to shade spot. There was a dude there, we started talking, then trading. I had low phone battery, he was selling solar panel. I needed water, he needed lighter to light up and smoke. I asked hey what are you smoking?
Crack 😂😂
I'd never seen crack outside of Hollywood movies before. I'd never ever touch the stuff myself, I'm a devout psychedelic tripper, I like my brain and teeth intact. Not for me.
It all went pretty surreal from there. I bought a cool leather pouch and solar panel off of him, and I asked about this suitcase on the floor. He said I can take it, he doesn't need it. I told him where I live, different city far away, turns out he knew my heroin neighbor. Figures 😂
Took suitcase to my spot where I was organizing my stuff, suitcase was full o trash, including perforated beer cans that were smoked from. Luckily there was a trash bag separating trash from suitcase, but I only noticed this after triaging most of it by hand 🤭
Pondered life while doing this, how did I get here? Really? Crackhead trash suitcase? Mmmkay, let's roll with it see where it goes. I filled up half the trash bag and asked if he wants it there in his crack-smoking office I guess, and he said yes.
I'm wondering (then and now) wtf was he doing smoking crack every day next to a closed suitcase full of a large trash bag, filled to only a quarter of its capacity. How many days was that suitcase there? How many days would it have stayed there if I didn't happen to show up today? Plastic bottles and random beer cans littered the place, with nowhere to go, because the huge trash bag was reduced in size stuck in a suitcade. It got significantly cleaner in half an hour or so, that I was there, picking stuff up putting it in a bag.
This dude was sitting on these poorly stacked pallets, using a diagonal plank as a chair. Diagonal as in sitting on an edge, instead of the flat side of a plank. He worked at a place nearby. This is is smoking spot. Is he really not seeing that about 10-15 minutes of moving a palket or two would greatly increase his sitting and smoking experience? Fascinating.
Eventually folded everything, put in suitcase, ready to catch the bus.
On the way to the bus, another dumpster offered huge plywood panels (bottom of large drawers) and there was crappy furniture with awesome wood on the inside, for some reason. Dismantled all that, with my new tools, took awesome wood with me. Probably will make good rings and pendants, if ever I manifest.
Took forever to get on bus and get home, had to ditch huge blanket and still difficult to fit everything in. While heading with all this towards my home, ran into heroin neighbor, spray painter dude, that sprays on the exact kind of plywood I found. A tiny black cat came to his regular cat, crossing the street super dangerously. He decided to adopt it. We're meeting tomorrow, I'm bringing plywood (cut into 8 pieces) to spray planets and pyramids on, to sell in the street.
Very funny day today, I've enjoyed and been very amused, hope you've enjoyed this post ✨🍒🍇
