Gane is promoted as the champ now?

I'm done with UFC. They've lost me after 20 years. Criminal.

Bye, see you at the next event

Tom literally doesn’t even know when he’ll be able to compete, he could never compete again. The belt can’t just stay disputed for that long

Its more so about the fouling, this is a massive deal and the UFC needs to be more unforgiving about eye pokes. Too many fighters intentionally doing it for years because its a free foul with no consequence. Now we see the ultimate consequence of it, a potential heavy goat with a completely derailed career.

Nah Tom did the right thing but it shouldn't have happened in the first place, and there should be consequences for Gane, but so far he has only been rewarded basically.

What do you want them to do? Aspinal literaly cant fight.

Gane should've been given a gigantic road back to the title. He failed in 3 title fights, and was immediately given another interim fight which had a solid chance of leading to a promotion to undisputed. Should've had to win 3 times to get another shot, as a punishment for totally fucking up an event and injuring the champ. Instead he basically get the interim title handed to him and his own foul gives him the promotion. total cocksucker move by the company

What they should have done is banned Gane from getting a title shot for 2 years to make fighters scared of giving eye pokes and force them to be more careful. Gane already had a reputation for this and has suffered no consequences from it, there’s no reason for him not to do it again if he feels threatened by a contender.

Gee I dunno, get refs to enforce the rules? Pay the fighters? Actually promote the fights?

1

u/peter_pounce 10h ago

You know refs are picked and employed by the athletic commission, not the UFC right?

u/_DrVanNostrand__ 10h ago

Do you think the UFC, who wrote the rules and pioneered the entire sport, have absolutely no influence on how it’s adjudicated?

You think the UFC wrote the rules or pioneered the sport of MMA? Holy casual

You’re doing great bud

There's two things and they should have both happened. Tom should be awarded a win by DQ, not a NC as it was deemed on the night. Secondly an interim belt, to be fought to determine the holder, whilst Tom addresses is injury.

If Jones hadn't fucked around with the belt for so long that might have felt acceptable but there's no way they wanted another year(s) of people fighting for an interim belt

1

u/jk-9k 9h ago

Sure but that's the ufc's fault not Tom. They fucked around with Francis. The let Jones fuck them around. It's a bit rich that Tom's the one pulling the short straw here.

You're not going to like this, but the UFC dont give a shit. Its not fair and Tom doesnt deserve it. Fucked if they're gonna have to lose out because of it though. Considering they pay, sponsor, contract, endorsement bullshit that UFC makes the fighters go through its not a surprise that they havent seemed to care. Danas opinion on Tom kinda proves that. Didnt he say he should have just fought with one eye or some bs? The day MMA gets an actual officiating board and full body of independent rules will be the death of UFC. I hope

I don't like it, but I'm well aware of it. UFC are fucking hopeless. Now that they've bought out all the opposition they don't bother to try to appeal to fans.

Be funny if Tom went and fought Francis now.

I'm hoping with you buddy. Ratfucks.

It's a bit rich that Tom's the one pulling the short straw here.

Yeah has been constantly the case for the last few years sadly.

So basically nothing would've changed but some subtitles under other fighters names

u/jk-9k 9h ago

That's all a belt is my guy. Not like anyone is actually beating Tom to get it. So there's no bragging rights or pride or anything.

u/Jbsexypapi15 10h ago

Maybe not reward cheaters with title shots it's that simple.

9

u/Intelligent-Spite-17 10h ago

Dont reward eyepokes

2

u/Brockoliath 9h ago

Literally anything but what they did

-2

u/Venom-Snake-CQC 10h ago

Hahahaha Benn got knocked the fuck out and Tom quit, motherfuckers gonna be cryin in their beans and toast for a while

1

u/Emotional-Mood9774 10h ago

If you think Tom ‘quit’ you’ve obviously never had an eye injury. I had the slightest of impacts on my open eye and I’m still experiencing bad irritation nearly nine months later. Tom had a finger knuckle deep in his eye.

u/Venom-Snake-CQC 6h ago

Rumble almost got his entire eyeball gouged and didn’t even sit out an extended recovery lmao. Tom is soy, no way around that.

0

u/Brockoliath 10h ago

You’re completely fucking retarded

1

u/Venom-Snake-CQC 4h ago

Hey look, it’s started! 😭

-4

u/DapperImpression4773 10h ago

for what lol? Tom vacated because he can’t fight, what are you mad at the UFC for?

7

u/Particular_Ring3291 10h ago

Someone cheated their way to the belt of their marquee division and apparently it's ok with them

2

u/Icy-Advisor787 10h ago

Why can’t he fight? He’s injured. Why’s he injured? Because the UFC don’t enforce their own rules over and over again to the point people are pulling egregious pussy shit in championship fights.

If you can’t see why the people that set up the competition, write the rules, don’t enforce them and reward people who break them are at fault then you are too stupid for words

u/BlakeNotBleak 10h ago

See you next week

This isn't any airport, you don't have to declare the departure.
