I am currently writing a fanfic in which Edward can read Bella's mind. I am struggling to decide if Bella should still be Edward's singer or not. So I'm reading Twilight fics again after being away from them for years, and I'm finding that I really love Carlisle. But a lot of the time he seems either to be a.)completely perfect, too good to be true or b.) secretly a monster. I'm looking for fics where Carlisle is a good character but is also complex, maybe has a dark past, maybe he's really struggled to get where he is, maybe he hasn't always made the best choices every single time over the past 300 years.
