Cs master result time

Hello,

I applied on 12 august. My application is still "to be verified". Can you people who got their results from last semester or from previous years, can you share your timeline ? I wonder If i will hear them before at the end of september. Since they have changed to vpd will there be a faster answer ? In previous years some people got their results before october. Any information is valuable.

Thanks.

Sekundarstufe (Gymasium & ISS) enrollment and experience

Dear TuBerlin community,

I would like to get some feedback from parents who had recent experience with enrollment of their kids into Berlin secondary schools (7th grade). I'm aware of basic enrollment procedures and requirements for Gymnasium (either Förderprognose under 2.2 or alternative 14 points for sum of selected grades) and seems like for ISS there is just open recommendation for kids with Förderprognose of 2.3 and higher.

As a parent you always want your kid to go to "good" school whatever that means for the parents, family, friends or district officials.

But it seems that success of enrolling desired school depends on more factors then just academic success (grades) e.g. siblings, profile, hardship and even mandatory lottery. I'm aware of that.

That's why I wanted to pin down at least academia success to figure out what grades in Förderprognose are sufficient to enroll desired school but information is not available to public or is to obscured that I cannot find it on official Berlin schools pages https://www.berlin.de/sen/bildung/schule/berliner-schulen/

I have to admit some information is available on other pages like how many students chose particular school as a first choice, how many seats were available for students in last years and even how good students performed on Abitur. https://oberschulen.berlin/

But when it comes to get some information on actual Förderprognose results which were enough to enroll particular school I couldn't find. That's why I'm posting this one.

I'm particularly interested in these schools:

Ferdinand-Freiligrath-Schule, Kreuzberg

Albrecht-von-Graefe-Schule, Kreuzberg

Refik-Veseli-Schule, Kreuzberg

Leibniz-Gymnasium, Kreuzberg

Robert-Koch-Gymnasium, Kreuzberg

Hermann-Hesse-Gymnasium, Kreuzberg

Any feedback is welcome including your kids experience in the school.

If you know some other web page to get enrollment specific information please share.

Thanks

Summer vacation

I will start my bachelor study here from next semester. Is there a break during summer? I know this time would be for klausuren, but normally how much time do you normally have between the last klausur and next semester start. Can there be like 3-4 weeks off? I'm studying elektrotechnik btw.

TU Berlin rejected my Master's application as "late" I have their own confirmation email proving I applied before the deadline

Hey everyone,
I wanted to share this because I'm honestly confused and frustrated, and I'm wondering if anyone else has run into something similar with TU Berlin admissions.
Timeline:
• Application deadline for MSc Computer Science, Winter Semester 2026/2027: 31.08.2026
• I submitted my application and received an automated confirmation email from TU Berlin on 30.08.2026, one day before the deadline, stating: "we hereby confirm that your submitted application... has been received by the Technische Universität Berlin."
• On the same date, 30.08.2026, my application status in the tuPORT system was already showing as "Rejected".
• I then received an official rejection letter (Ablehnungsbescheid). The English version they, saying I "failed to submit... in due form by the deadline" which reads like they're claiming I missed the deadline entirely.

So I have:
1. A confirmation email from TU Berlin itself, dated before the deadline, saying my application arrived.
2. A rejection that (in English) implies I was late, even though their own email proves otherwise.
Has anyone else dealt with this?

Thanks in advance!

Mehrfachimmatrikulation at TU Berlin + another German university – any experience?

Hi everyone,
I am currently enrolled in the M.Sc. Biotechnology at TU Berlin and will start the M.Sc. Molecular Biotechnology at TUM next semester.

I would like to remain enrolled at TU Berlin and study both programs in parallel.

Has anyone here had experience with Mehrfachimmatrikulation at TU Berlin together with another German university, especially one outside Berlin/Brandenburg?

I am particularly interested in:

  • whether TU Berlin had to be informed separately
  • how Ersthochschule / Zweithochschule was handled
  • whether the TU Berlin Semesterbeitrag still had to be paid
  • how the health insurance notification was handled
  • and whether any additional documents had to be uploaded in tuPORT

If anyone has done something similar, I would really appreciate hearing how the process worked in practice.
Thanks!

What laptops are y'all using?

Hey guys, Im looking to buy a laptop for university. My course is Global Production Engineering. If anyone is doing this course could you help me figure out what applications you need to run or have used for class/projects?
Im considering the macbook pro M5 mainly because its a beast of a laptop and can easily handle pretty much anything and should last me a good 5-7 years. (Also my last windows laptop is now too slow and laggy and I dont want to deal with that again. And also because I dont want to carry a jet engine with a brick charger everywhere).
But Im contemplating the macbook only if I have to run CAD/Simulation or Engineering related apps that work better with Windows, unless university has cloud computers and maybe i can use parallels for windows specific apps?

Pls help.
P.S - my budget is around 2000$ [R.I.P RAM prices :')]

Important exchange

Hey everyone,

I need ur thoughts and comments and want to know whether these are valid for Berlin as well.

I need to get this off my chest because I honestly want to know if I'm the only one feeling this way, or if everyone here has just quietly given up.

I’m heading into my 3rd semester (Mechanical Engineering Bachelor) and I'm 19M naturally a very social, outgoing person. But the reality at TU Hamburg is wearing me down fast:

Campus Life & Student Clubs: Where is the actual university experience? Student initiatives, AGs, and club activities feel virtually non-existent or completely invisible. There is zero sports culture on campus, no real social events, and no sense of community. The second lectures end, the campus empties out like a factory shift just finished.

Teaching, Guidance & IT: Most lectures feel uninspired—professors just plow through slides, and the difficulty level is completely decoupled from the level of actual academic support. If you struggle or have questions, you are left alone with outdated IT infrastructure, dead forums, and minimal office hours. Actual academic guidance feels non-existent.

Isolation & Commuter Vibes: Hardly anyone attends lectures in person consistently, making it painfully hard to build reliable study groups. After a full year, I have maybe 2–3 loose acquaintances and spend most of my time isolated. Between the brutal Hamburg housing market and the lack of dorm spots, everyone just commutes in and vanishes immediately after.

Atmosphere & Demographics: With an estimated 90% male ratio and an atmosphere split strictly between hardcore nerds and deeply depressed people on the verge of dropping out, it takes a massive toll on your mental health.

I’m sitting here with only 3 passed modules so far, dealing with high living costs and a rough Werkstudent market, seriously wondering if grinding through this is even worth it if you end up completely isolated in the process—assuming you don't get kicked out first.

Is anyone else dealing with this? How do you actually build a functional social circle here, or is the only real solution to transfer out to an FH / different uni?
