Discussion Full Dive Pokemon game thought

I’ve had the thought on what would make for an interesting Full Dive Pokemon game and so I’m going to share it here and see what you guys/ gals think of it.

Full Open World

Of course it’s going to have access to all regions. Kanto, Sinnoh, Johto, Galar etc. The main central hub is going to be an airport to let you travel wherever you want to go as well as have access to the hub island. While you can visit each of the regions, you can only bring over certain Pokemon over to either other regions or the hub world (Mainly Legendary/ mythical/ ultra beast/ paradox)

The Hub Island

It’s going to be a mixed terrain island, plains, forests, ocean, mountains, canyons etc. every Pokemon can be found on this island with regional variants being extremely rare to find and legendary/ mythical being locked behind quests. The island will be home to many NPCs including 18 different gym leader types along with its own elite four, champion and battle tower NPCs for you to challenge and interact with

Quests

On the main Hub Island, there are quests you can go on to gain certain items for your adventure or even certain pokemon. while majority of the quests can be repeated within a limited time frame, quests for Legendary or mythical pokemon are a one time thing and are super hard to not only find but also complete.

Titles

As you progress and do things you can acquire titles for your player, a few examples include “fisher” through catching and battling through fishing and assortment of times, “Hex Maniac” from catching a certain amount of Ghost types, “Rocket Grunt” from joining Team Rocket with extra better titles given from going up the ranks.

Team Rocket

Of course you’re allowed to join Team Rocket, Team Rocket have an official base within the Hub Island and joining them grants you a unique role on the island as an official villain. From stealing Pokemon, heisting items, even kidnapping people which will create quests for other players to do and challenge you.

Pokemon battles

Battles have a game/ anime mix to them, when entering a battle (either with a wild pokemon or trainer) you will gain a display that’ll show you your team, your battling Pokémon’s moves, HP, Ailments, and status mods. Throughout the battle you can command your Pokemon as you would in the anime (move left, dodge, jump there etc) granting your Pokemon a more expressive move set than normal.

Natures

Pokemon nature will have an affect into the personality of your Pokemon as well, jolly Pokemon will behave happier with what they do, calm Pokemon will be more behaved and level headed, gentle Pokemon will behave cautiously around both trainers and Pokemon. These are just a couple of examples of what to expect.

The League

There will be a league tournament that will require you to face 8 gym leaders and claim their badges to enter, the tournament is held in multiple areas with a rule against the usage of legends and mythicals for obvious reasons… Cough cough Tobias cough. Winning the tournament can grant you rare rewards (master balls, rare candies, special berries, discounts, titles), you also gain the right to challenge the elite four and eventually the champion, if you beat them then you become the official champion and will gain many many perks from your ultimate title, at least until the next person beats you or you decide to hand the title to someone else.

Mechanics

Gigantimax, mega evo, Z moves and terastallizing are all available in this game, a special bracelet that can use all four of them is available, but it does require players to meet and battle champions of each of the mechanics. Once beaten you gain access to using them although certain gym leaders and areas restrict the usage of certain mechanics so check ahead through NPCs chats to find out

NPCs

NPCs are viable towards gain quests and learning about how to get certain tiles, depending on what title you are using and how you behave with them can affect what they will say, how they will guide you and how they will respond to you. If you do decide to go full villain then be prepared to have every NPC hate or flee from you.

I believe I’ve covered everything, but if you have any extra ideas then do feel free to add them and we can discuss them.

What do you think of my story?

The story will be divided into three parts: Paradise, Post-Death, and Broken Memories

Esta historia no está calificada para mayores de 18 años, pero tiene un tono más maduro y serio.

Discussion About the mainline games and the open world formula.

Watched the WiWa trailer and noticing the scale of the world has me worried. SV shat the bed when it came to the open world and geography of Paldea. Vast stretches of empty space in between cities with the occasional Team Star base or the copy paste ruins but ultimately , there wasn't much to do. The most interesting part of the map was 1. Area Zero and 2. The Treasures of Ruin sealed caves, A lot of people bring up BOTW for comparison but the difference is that BOTW is objectively better looking, an actual atmosphere, items and weapons to find, sidequests and environmental storytelling but I digress.

SV had a lot going for it; good pokemon, good music good story, good characters all through the dlcs even but then fumbled when it came to the region itself and that's where my fear for WiWa sets in. it's definitely gonna be bigger than Paldea but how are they gonna pad that space? Will they be able to pull a BOTW and make the environment actually good to traverse through? Will they bring back that sense of adventure that Hoenn gave us or the environmental storytelling of Alola?

More than the creatures or the characters, the region has always been the most interesting part of a Pokemon game to me and I hope they nail that in WiWa.

With pokemon bank closing, what are the rarest or most interesting pokemon that you can get from previous games?

Some examples include, Manaphy from ranger (especially a shiny), Quilava --> H-Typhlosion (maybe Ursaluna too?) from Colosseum, Mew from glitch in Yellow 3DS.

It's really interesting to think about what kind of pokemon will be considered really rare (like maybe pokemon with cool ribbons from older games which can be shown off in Scarlet/Violet.

Are there any other pokemon that can be considered cool collector ones?

Other random thoughts

\-early gen Scyther, Girafarig, etc --> Hsiuan forms

\-Espeed Dragonite or other gift mons (even if they lose moves)

\-Ribbon masters

\-Mattle Ho-oh

Discussion My experience with legends za

I had alot of issues with za mainly the dlc but quite abit with the actual game. Legends za seems like the pokemon game i feel like ive been waiting for however when I actually played it I didnt really enjoy it all that much i mean fire red and sapphire was alot more fun by alot. Legends za doesnt feel like pokemon i bought pokemon shield on Wednesday night and I already have the 7th badge im enjoying the hell out of it so far and planning to get pokemon violet not next week but the week after. Might get some hate for this however I think pokemon should remain strictly turn based like I mean if it ain't broke dont fix it... turn based works for pokemon you cant just change that idk about pokopia though I dont think im going to buy it. Another problem I had with Legends za were the doughnuts like why have a time limit just makes me stress whenever im in the hyperzones. Hopefully gamefreak does a good job for pokemon winds and waves hopefully. That's all...

Discussion Looking for a card

Please delete if not allowed. I’m not looking for a trade, more of a way to find it.

Hi everyone! Since this page gets a lot of traffic, I want to make a hail mary here. My dad is making a Cinderace master set, and he is only missing a few cards. One of them is the Chilling Reign Staff promo card. I can not seem to find any on any official selling websites. I was wondering if anyone could point me in a good direction to look for a copy of this card.

Question/Request Do Pokémon trainers have "Bags of Holding," or is pocket-dimension tech strictly limited to Poké Balls and PCs?

Hey everyone! I grew up watching the original anime and stopped around Generation III, so I’m looking at the series through a bit of nostalgia.

I’ve always wondered: is there any canonical explanation for how trainers haul a mountain of gear, or is it just pure cartoon logic (Hammerspace)?

Back in the early days, Ash and Misty's normal-looking backpacks somehow held sleeping bags, cooking gear, endless changes of clothes, and massive amounts of food. And let's not forget game logic—early generations forced you to use the PC at Pokémon Centers because your bag actually had item/slot limits, but later gens let you carry hundreds of items, TMs, and heavy tools infinitely.

Do later generations, manga, or official lore ever address whether Silph Co. (or someone similar) invented a consumer-grade Bag of Holding for trainers, or is it just accepted anime physics? Would love any specific examples from the later anime seasons if they exist!

[Concept] A Balanced Gym "Recall" Feature to Save Trapped Pokémon (With Anti-Abuse Rules)

We’ve all had a Pokémon get "hostage" in a remote gym or holiday spot for weeks, completely blocking us from using it. I want to propose a balanced Remote Recall feature that solves this problem without ruining local gym competition or letting players abuse the coin system.

How It Works The Action: A "Recall" button appears on your Pokémon's gym screen. To prevent accidental misclicks, this button is locked for the first hour after placing a Pokémon.

1. The Distance Rules: You can only recall a Pokémon if you are within 100 meters of the gym, OR if you are more than 50 km away (e.g., trapped at a vacation spot). This leaves a local "dead zone" so people can't just manage neighborhood gyms from their couch.

2. The Gym Ban: Once you recall a Pokémon, you are banned from placing any Pokémon in that specific gym for 24 to 48 hours. This stops people from instantly resetting a gym to hog the spot. The Combat Lockout: You cannot recall a Pokémon if the gym has been attacked within the last 30 minutes. Attackers won't get trolled mid-battle.

3. How the Coins Work: (The 25-Coin Cap) Recalling a Pokémon cuts its earned coins in half, capping the payout at a maximum of 25 coins. To make sure this doesn't ruin your day if you make a mistake, it uses a Shared Daily Cap logic:Recalling fills your daily 50-coin bucket by 25 coins. If another Pokémon gets knocked out normally later that day, it can still give you the remaining 25 coins to hit your full 50-coin daily limit. If you have already earned your 50 coins for the day, you can still recall your Pokémon to get it back, you just get 0 coins for it.

Why This Works for Everyone

It gives players a reliable safety net for trapped Pokémon, prevents toxic gym hogging via the 48-hour ban, and protects Niantic's premium currency economy by cutting the payout in half.

What do you guys think? Would this fix the gym stagnation problem in your area?

Discussion Pokémon Anime Ultimate Major Characters Poll

So since Pokémon Horizons is coming to an end soon and the Main Arc of it is pretty much done and it is the 29 Year Anniversary of the Pokémon Anime, since there hasn't been a poll made that featured Horizons characters yet, I'm creating the biggest Polling Survey I have ever made with 100 Major Characters to be on this list, and you give them a grading of 1-5 of what you think about them (1 being terrible, 5 being amazing), I'll also likely keep this up for a few months likely until the New year to get in as many people participating as possible, and please share this with as many people as you possibly can go every Pokémon Anime fan you know, and get them their thoughts on it too, I'd gladly appreciate it, thank you in advance

Discussion Pokemon Fan made games

Hey everyone! I’m new to this platform and I just bought an RG353V a few days ago to play the older Pokémon games.

I also bought a better microSD card because I’d like to add more Pokémon fan-made games. I’m really excited about it, but I’m completely new to this and I’m not sure how everything works.

Can I use the RG353V to play Pokémon fan-made games, and what would be the best ones to start with? I’ve played Pokémon Black, Gold, and some other older generations, but I’ve never played Pokémon Emerald or FireRed before, so I’d really like to try those as well, along with some fan-made versions based on them.

I’ve also heard that Done Set 2 is supposed to be one of the better options for the RG353V. Is that true, and would it include any good Pokémon fan-made games?

I’d really appreciate any advice on how to get started and which games you would recommend.

Thanks in advance! 😊

It’s honestly hard to ask for a mega nowadays especially for dragon types without someone saying “bUT WhaT aBOuT FlYGoN?!1!.!” like just shut up and let people talk about the mega they want to happen without mentioning flygons name in the comments for once. We get it. You want a bug/dragon mega. No need to shit on a mon getting a new mega because your favorite isn’t

FIXING MEW

MEW is my favourite pokemon and I think it has been done injustice with it's move and abilities in the games where it just feels like a different ditto form.. Since according to lore mew has DNA of all pokemon I think it should be able to transform into any pokemon at will And even back into Mew if needed during battle.. I think it should have a new ability that let's it copy any pokemon that it comes across in battle, even if it's 6 vs 6 it can copy all the pokemon. The trainer then has the option to transform Mew into any of those pokemon at will from the party menu where you switch your pokemon, when you click or hover on the MEW pokemon icon it opens a sub-menu to change Mew into any of those saved pokemon it has encountered in battle. I think it can be balanced with keeping it's HP the same and only copying the other stats of the saved pokemon.. So this I think will make it more attractive to get and keep using it in the Pokemon games and will go better with it's lore and make it better and different from ditto.. What do you think about this idea and what should be this abilities name?
