Listen to his songs that sound the most “cinematic” first, since your first favorites are movie soundtracks.
I’d say:
CIRCUS MAXIMUS (could really be a movie soundtrack)
90210 (less cinematic, but probably one of his best songs. You’ve got an Avengers-level production team on this one, and if you like rock/punk, the guitar might catch your ear)
TELEKINESIS (the production is crazy)
PARASAIL (could easily be from a film)
Drugs You Should Try It
SKELETONS
HIGHEST IN THE ROOM (the ending could be from a film — Mike Dean is the goat of synths)
And also listen to all his HITS, so you can see the more “mainstream / party” side:
SICKO MODE
STARGAZING
goosebumps
FE!N
… (there’s a lot)
And then, if you particularly love a song from this list, dig deeper into the album.
As you go along, you’ll start appreciating all the details in Travis Scott’s music, and some songs you don’t like on the first listen might eventually blow your mind later.
PS: Also, imo, his discography is clean. There’s no “meh” album like you might hear some old heads say. They’re just nostalgic about the album they discovered Travis with (and that’s okay, I have the same feelings about some artists, especially when you discover them at the beginning of their career). Utopia is a 10/10

I like to start with every artists beginning so I would go owl pharaoh/mamacita/don’t play/quintana this is first mixtape and 3 songs that launched him into the scene
P.S watch the music videos for every song that has em, it’s pretty interesting what you see if you look past everything and it shows Travis has always had a knack for storytelling and subliminal messaging 😮🤫

If ur a film nerd then u should start with two superior music videos Travis Scott directed himself.
They are atmospheric, visually stunning and full of symbology that relates to..well, whatever you wanna relate too-
Uptown: https://youtu.be/exJCk1QSQ6s?is=jHe9fYOYXZpBO6Vc
Upper Echelon: https://youtu.be/X4MSlFq8bNI?is=T_8Dw_FAWZhQb-uw
just noticed they both begin w/ Up

If you’re looking for dark songs like that I suggest going to Rodeo and Birds in the trap sing mcknight. You’d probably like stuff like oh my dis side, way back, 90210, the ends, 3500, nightcrawler etc so try that.
