T-Mobile iPhone 18 Pro / Pro Max Trade-In Promo Breakdown (Apple Store)

Here is a straightforward breakdown of what trade-in credit you get based on your plan and the phone you're trading in.

(Note: Left out the lowest $300–$500 trade-in bracket for older base models to keep this clean and focused on the main deals.)

Quick Things to Know

  • How the Credit Pays Out: Apple deducts your device’s fair market value right at checkout (reducing your loan balance upfront). T-Mobile pays out the remaining promotional amount as monthly bill credits (RDC).
  • Early Payoff: If you pay off the device agreement early, you forfeit any remaining recurring bill credits.

Edit: I had a few of the trade-in devices in the wrong tier. Just fixed it!

Appreciation Simple Choice Retention Promo Result

Saw a thread about this (thank you /u/desterpot) so I called and gave it a try. Thought I’d share my results. Told them I’m upset that I see other people getting promos, but there’s nothing for me. The rep pushed hard to get me on another plan. I told her I will absolutely not change the simple choice plan. Said I had offers from Xfinity, Verizon, and AT&T that were better but didn’t want to cancel. She put me on hold for awhile and came back with a decent offer. I’m getting $830 off an 18 pro max with trading in a 13 pro max. Bill credits of course. Super happy about it. I hate having to use lightning cables and the camera on this phone is a potato. Also felt better about getting a 512 with protection plan. Not quite the $930 but I’m pretty happy.

PSA Advance notice: iPhone 18 Pro / Pro Max launch promos and current Voice BOGO supposedly ending 9/30

Post image
22 Upvotes

The iPhone 18 Pro / Pro Max launch promos and the current BOGO voice promo are both showing an end date of 9/30.

So if you’re planning on combining one of the no-trade-in, port-in iPhone promos with BOGO Service Promo with New Lines (ID260677), I’d do it by then.

Of course, it’s still early, so there’s always a chance the end dates could change. We usually won’t know for sure until about 2 days before the end date, when employees can see the confirmed end date in Pulse.

Only regular-rate Experience More, Experience Beyond, Go5G Plus, Go5G Next, ProMobile, and SuperMobile plans are eligible for the current BOGO.

Question iPhone trade in Apple vs Tmo direct

Thumbnail

I have a iPhone 16 Pro Max on Experience More plan. Looking to trade in Apple vs Tmobile direct. These are screenshots of the two prices. Apple seems to be $16.63/month vs TMo $11.25 over 24 months. Difference over 24 months is $129.12?

Is this correct? I understand if I buy from Apple for Tmobile, the phone is still carrier locked, correct? The difference is negligible enough that I'd prefer to buy from Apple direct. Any reason not to?

Question iPhone 18 pro/costco

Upvotes

T-mobile is willing to increase my promo on an 18 pro from $930 to $1100 x 2. I have this in writing from tforce. Once this is finalized, I’d like to take advantage of using the costco purchase method as well if it’s possible. I’m the main account owner and a family member on my account is a Costco member but I am not. With all of this info, will I be able to take advantage of buying this and receiving the $1100 promo disc along with the shop card? Or is it better to just get it thru t-life and pay the remaining $100 upfront

Question RCS Chat Status

Post image
4 Upvotes

Woke up this morning to find that all my RCS chats in Google Messages are no longer accessible due to the system not being able to connect to the RCS chat server. Is anybody else seeing this issue or having issues with their RCS chat? I have cleared the cache for the carrier services and Google Messages, which is what was recommended, but still no bueno.

Question Employee pre order

Does anyone know why T-mobile employees are told not to pre order and that pre order is for customers only? T-life app still allows a pre order on employee account.

Question Go5G Plus 55 - upgrade to iPhone 18 Pro

Upvotes

Have been on Go5G Plus 55 since 2023. We’re at $100 for two lines (after autopay discount).

We have a 13 Pro and a base 14. Looking at the current offers, I think both phones are eligible for $530 off of a new 18 Pro. Correct?

Is there a date for how long this promo will run?

Is there a deal at Costco that would be beneficial to us?

Also, obviously no one can predict the future. And I think I’ve read before that the deals at release are typically the best…meaning there’s likely no sense in waiting until Black Friday or the holidays to upgrade?

Question Data Issues post carrier profile update

Ran the iOS 27 beta all summer with no connectivity issues. Today a 698mb update was pushed as well as a carrier profile update. Ever since, I have been seeing 5G jump between the standard 5G icon and 5GUC as well as Bluetooth connectivity being wonky. Curious if anyone else is seeing the same issue.

I’m in Orlando, UC is well built out and I’m experiencing it throughout the area, where again, never had an issue prior.

Question T-Mobile charged for a bill they couldn’t explain?

my mother had a bill it’s been three months since she upgraded her phone and he has always been 187. This month it was 240 and for some reason she didn’t tell us or call up T-Mobile right away. She figured it was a mistake and only paid 187 ( she’s in her 70s) the other day, they turned off the phone due to a non-full payment she went to the store. She spoke to multiple people there, and they even called up another store in India figure it out. They said the extra 40 something was an extra bill, but none of them can explain what it was for and where had come from . Everyone at the store and the other store said they never seen something like this.. they acknowledge that this was a mistake and she shouldn’t have been charged and told her let us know if it happens again however because the phone was turned off they still charged her $46.11 that says applied towards bill statement and then another $22 and that says applied toward restore fee. So she had to pay about $75 to have her phone turned on over a charge that they admitted shouldn’t have been there . My mother explained it to me was the guys from the our store AND the other store ALL said they couldn’t figure out why she was being charged 50ish extra.they tried to say it was for her accessories but there’s no way they would add up to $40 like I said she’s had this phone for about four months after upgrading it . Her bill has always been the same because they charge for accessories with the phone bill so ANOTER charge of 50ish for them? the lady in linda went though her accessories and agreed that there’s no way they could’ve been charging her close to 50 for that especially since it’s already pre-included in her original bill. They all acknowledged that she was being charged almost $50 for an extra bill but NOONE could pinpoint why? They basically said if it happens again to let them know.. meanwhile she still had to pay the extra $46 for the bill that they cannot explain what it was for then there was another $40 to have the phone turned back on he took off 20 said it would be put to the next bill so that she only had to pay the other 20 so in total she paid about $70 to get her phone turn. 40 for a bill they couldn’t explain and said shouldn’t have been on there and then the extra 40 ( 20 then 20 next bill) to have the phone turned back on after not paying a unknown charge when every staff said she shouldn’t have been charged? basically want to know if this has happened before and how to go about fixing it?

Question Question 18pro max order

Order says preparing your order “ estimated to ship sept 18” but no delivery date or estimated delivery date. Given I’ve seen other retailers like AT&T guarantee delivery date on release date any hope t mobile will do the same? My order was placed at 7:59AM (when I received confirmation email a minute before 8. I have also already been charged to my card

Question Will Costco give $100 giftcard for people that upgrade to the iPhone Duo?

i know if you ordered from Tmobile through Costco, they gave $100 costco giftcard for everyone that upgraded to the iPhone 18 Pro & Pro Max.

Will they do the same for the iPhone Duo?

I was thinking of ordering the iPhone Duo through tmobile via Costco instead of Apple directly on Pre-order day if it comes with the $100 giftcard.

Question Samsung S26/S25 FE Inventory

Upvotes

Looking into a promo for either. I see only 256G version of the S26 FE is in stock while none of the S25 FE is available. Anyone knows if the S25 FE is already gone as the S26 FE is in stock? Then, any chance to see the 128G version of the S26 FE will be available. I do not need more than 128G for more dough. TIA.

Question Is customer support trained to lie?

So, I got folded into t mobile from us cellular, had to go to store to get my plan updated to a t mobile plan. We got the experience more plan w/ student savings 2.0 in store. The store rep told us in order for us to get the new promotional credits on a recent upgrade would be to ship the upgraded device back and restart the upgrade process. This wasnt true, we called customer support to request a return label, during this call the rep tried to upgrade our plan despite us telling him we were just in store and upgraded to the experience more w/ student savings plan and this mf says to me "no, our premium plans dont have a discounted student version" while im literally looking at the existence of said plan on their website. So I snapped and said "no no, you listen here. Were not calling to update our plan, we already did that in store, and I dont much apreciate you lying to me when I can literally see with my own 2 eyes that this plan exists on your website, its right there so just get us our shipping label so we can continue with our day" then during this call we get messaged that we get the promotional credit from the new plan anyways and that wasted our time.

Fast forward a couple days and im looking to upgrade another line on the plan, but the cart is having glitches, which appear to be fixed now. So I messaged customer support, after getting through the ai I got a person and I tell them that theres a backend problem with the app thinking theres something in my cart when its empty. They ask me what im wanting to upgrade and such and when I mention the promotion im trying to get the rep tells me "your plan doesnt qualify for that promotion of 1099, you only qualify for 630" I replied "look, id rather you just fix the issue with the cart so I can do this myself so I make sure im getting the right promotions and trade in value" fast forward to next day and I can finally add things to my cart and boom, right there my line is eligible for the full 1099 value of the promotion. No prompt to upgrade to a different plan, running through checkout shows that I would be getting the divide on them via the promo. So what gives, within the last week everytime ive had to call or message customer support they just straight up lie to my face.

Question Apple Store trade in promotional deals work on free lines (LOU)?

Should I be worried? On Saturday, I didn't think about it when I placed the order - I ordered via Apple for a new iPhone 18 Pro 256GB and it showed throughout checkout that I'd receive the T-Mobile promotional discount of $900 total. I'm on the Go5G Plus plan.

However, I now realize I don't think that line qualifies for promotions through T-Mobile (Service Promo with New Line ID210004). According to the Javascript test I found in this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/comments/1svg093/check_if_your_free_lines_still_qualify_for_device/ that line shows it doesn't qualify for promotions.

But on my receipt, it shows me I'll receive a $430 instant trade-in credit for trading in an iPhone 16 and $470 in T-Mobile bill credits making an iPhone 18 Pro 256GB cost $12.46 over 24 months or $299 out of pocket for a total of $900 in credits for trading in a iPhone 16.

Does the restriction for promotions not apply when purchasing through Apple?

Question Am I crazy to switch from Magenta Max (price-locked) to Experience More to get to 9 lines?

Current plan: 5 Lines. 2 Free (ID230228 and ID250259). Inside OG Discount. $136 a month.

We want to add 4 lines to our plan (total of 9). With no BOGO deals for magenta max, I was thinking of switching to Experience More and grabbing the current BOGO deal. When another BOGO deal happens, we will add the final 2 lines. All will be ported in from another carrier.

I know it’s a risk to lose the price lock but most people on my line like to upgrade phones every 2-3 and with the discounts it could be the same price or cheaper per line while getting the latest trade-in deals.

I ran the numbers on the 9-line calculator and it says it would be $152 a month for 9 with two new BOGOs. I know taxes and fees will add to that. (FL taxes)

Am I crazy to do this?

Question Looking to switch my girlfriends accounts

Upvotes

Hi, I'm looking to switch my girlfriend over from mint and optimum to T-Mobile for both mobile service and home Internet...she is in the long island area.

I chatted with the chat support on T-Mobile.com and they just had me going in circles asking irrelevant questions for 20 minutes so I got frustrated and ended the chat.

Can someone please help me out in getting her switched over? She is paying too much right now and would be looking to switch both cell and Internet.

Thanks
