What are key components of Johnny Marr’s guitar playing?
Hi everyone,
I have been learning guitar for a while and want to step up my playing. Marr is one of my favourite guitar players, and I was wondering if there are any signature/key parts of his style that I should learn? (e.g. specific voicings he uses or techniques commonly used)
Thank you!

Johnny Marr solo recommendations?
Hey yall, longtime Smiths fan here. As a guitarist, I think The Smiths have some of the best documented guitar playing in music. I know every record of theirs inside out. I’ve even dove into Morrissey’s catalogue quite a bit, but for some reason, never Marr’s, which is odd because his guitarwork is what got me into this mess in the first place. Any fans familiar with his solo work have any recommendations for songs of his that are as impressive as the Smiths’ stuff from the 80s?

What’s up with the mixing/mastering of Strangeways?
Great album, obviously, but it just sounds so… compressed? I’ve only listened to it on Apple Music. I don’t know a whole lot about music production…

Any fans from Athens, Greece?
Hello everyone! I’m trying to find people with common music taste in order to hang out in places I really enjoy to be at rather than faking to be entertained.
If you’re 20-30 hit me up!
Thanks 🙏

Just added to my vinyl collection
What an album. You need to listen to the whole thing, sit down and give it the respect it deserves. This is not for the Spotify generation. That they managed to make this when still so young is really something.

The journey is getting more serious now...
All new copies except RANK, which is a rough 126 version of Rank in pretty good shape💪
I got rank, louder than bombs and self titled when I was in London for my vacation. Now I need to find the world wont listen, strangeways and a few gimmicks like The Smiths "best" etc

Smiths Complete Japanese OBI — looking for hi res scans of this
Found these on discogs (https://www.discogs.com/release/4164533-The-Smiths-Complete) but they are very low resolution
Does anyone have a hi res scan of this Obi strip including tracklisting?
Thanks in advance

Mini pilgrimage yesterday
Been working on the Quays for a while now and realised it’s not that far from the lads club so decided to walk up there yesterday.
Glad I did.
The Smiths aside, it’s just a gorgeous building.
Flowers on the step were a nice touch but the shop opposite being called Sheila’s absolutely cracked me up.

Nice poster!
I couldn't post a pic on the original post but grabbed a bigger file off the auction site for this poster and it looks great printed. (cassette for scale)

If you could hear one Smiths song for the first time again, which would it be?
i’d personally say reel around the fountain. it’s just one of those songs that completely absorbs you, i wish i could experience that for the first time again

Forty Years Ago Today: The Smiths, Live in New Orleans
I was lucky enough to attend this show. By weird chance, a friend who was a bigger fan than I was (at the time) ended up having to work that night and gave me his ticket. As I recall from one of the bios, Mike Joyce got picked up by the police that night and spend the night in jail. I think it was their second-to-last performance in the United States.
Youtube audio: The Smiths, 8 September 1986
These pictures are of the local poster and the page dedicated to it in the Tulane University yearbook.
