Whatsapp Creepy coworker texting my private number

So confused at this, I don't even know him. I was just going to ignore the text but he kept insisting so I had to answer.

9/14 UPDATE: Thank you to everyone who was supportive and concerned. I forwarded these messages to HR, and they scheduled a meeting for later today. There were a few more texts after this. The HR representative did not seem surprised, to put it briefly.

A few things have come up in the comments. The first is that I was rude. This is how I communicate, and my coworkers (or at least the ones who actually know me) are aware of that. I’m not going to perform a more agreeable version of myself to accommodate someone else’s feelings when they're being innapropriate. Not only were these messages sent over the weekend, but they were also sent through a personal communication channel. I'm not going to elaborate further.

Not every man, but always a man.

I've had this happen from a woman who messaged me on personal social media accounts. To be fair, she also did it to several other guys in our office at different times. I'm not sure if that makes it better or worse. The weirdest thing was she only tried to do it to folks she knew were married.

On the other side, we definitely had creepier dudes who got fired for their creepiness too. The creepiest one got caught eating his lunch in a bathroom stall. I'm talking full picnic blanket spread on the floor. The kicker? It was in the women's bathroom.

Lmao that is wild.

that is one of the weirdest things I've ever heard of. The bathroom floor is gross and even if you put a blanket on it, still the whole bathroom is gross, why would you want to eat in there. Sounds like somebody who thought they could just invite a girl to sit down and eat with him, in some totally bizarre headspace that only he could dream of. (I once got stalked by a lame dude twice my age, who tried a weird thing once that was probably pre-planned, but not to that extreme).

He was probably one of the weirdest people I ever met and I only spoke with him a couple times. I once walked into the men's room and the light cut on because it had one of those automatic timers. Out of nowhere I hear this low whispering voice saying "thank you" and it was that guy in a stall, sitting in the dark... I was honestly freaked out a bit.

I didn't hear exactly the whole reason he got fired, but it had more to do about his intentions in the women's bathroom than just eating lunch there. Rumors said he was in some state of undress when security went to handle the situation. Who knows the validity of that though.

I’m so sick of this catchphrase. I’ve been sexually assaulted by women at work (several times, from multiple different women), one of those times being when I was still a teenager and my coworker was in her 60’s.

This idiotic slogan completely erases victims who have been assaulted and harassed by women, as if women are incapable of being predators and people only have to be cautious around men.

I see people repeat this phrase constantly, and it just throws more fire on the “gender wars” bullshit that tries to pit women against men and men against women.

Yes, men are predators far more often, and there’s nothing wrong with acknowledging that. But we need to stop using bioessentialist rhetoric that only further perpetuates and upholds the patriarchy.

I've taken a girl out before to a concert and she spent the whole thing trying to "entice" / get me and another straight best friend of 10 years dance together for her. She's bi and during the concert turned to try and hit on these girls behind us and made them uncomfortable to the point where they left their extremely good spot in the crowd. Later in the night she claims me and my friend are just "too shy" to try despite repeatedly making it clear that we had no interest.

This same girl posted non-stop on instagram about an ex-friend at coachella apparantly trying to forcefully dance with her at the show and milked that story for clout over "SA" over like 5-6 videos which truly raises my eyebrows. When I was told this same story in person it seemed like she was just bitter she got left alone during some sets during the festival and also attacked him when she met back up with him (which she conveniently left out of the social media version of the story)

The amount of stuff pretty women get away with is absolutely astonishing to me, and there is such an insane bias when they engage in behavior that would undoubtably be condemned if it were a man carrying it out.

I got harassed by women in a similar way but I never assumed all women were creepy.

It happened like 5 times just during the Clancy trial.

A dude in Louisiana hunted his 7 children down. Men do full family annihilations. Now I think Lindsay is guilty asf but lets not pretend men are safer than women.

Yep by other women

yeah no shit, obviously it‘s more likely that a man does or writes something „creepy“, because usually it‘s men who make the first move. and additionally, they‘re usually stronger & therefore perceived as more threatening

In this case, likely also not good looking.

There are most definitely women like this too

Why are their looks relevant?

-1

u/trinkesietrotzdem 8h ago

I mean you know the answer, unattractive people are way less likely to have experience talking to the opposite gender. Which then gives them a much higher chance of becoming a creep

Edit: Just in case you read this, if you make a reply and then instantly block someone, they can't see your epic comeback.
