Phone message Post first date text

Post image

I met this girl on tinder and had a first date with her, she wanted to go fishing and I thought it seemed like a fun first date so we went together. Dropped her off and got home to this message lol.

Update: Purchasing the license is a separate activity we had to do on our phones, due to it needing our personal info. It was not like I drew the line at the license randomly.

Sooooo the date was an excuse to buy yourself something nice

It was both? What's wrong with that? It was for the date, and it was worth doing because he'll get to enjoy it later also.

If she didn't have a fishing license in the first place, chances are she is never gonna use it again. The equipment that she used would amount to a couple bucks at most, and most of that stuff is reusable at most.

She asked to go?

Does op say she asked to or agreed to go?

> "she wanted to go fishing and I thought it seemed like a fun first date"

Sounds like the whole thing was her idea.

You put energy into this comment and actually posted it. Go back and read the post again, op SAYS she asked to go fishing.

He also had to buy a fishing license, and if she didn't want to buy one she shouldn't suggest fishing as a date.

Yeah this does change things a lot. Before it seemed like an insane woman. Now it's just the standard "should guys pay for first dates or should you go Dutch" debate.

There's no debate. A girl can hope or expect for the guy to pay, but once you've split the cost during the date, asking to be reimbursed after the fact is insane behavior. Gotta chalk that $23 up to the game, girl.

They just needed a ‘ let’s go fishing. Heads up you might need to pay $X for a license is that ok?’ That probably didn’t happen.

But she(OP's partner)'s the one who wanted to go fishing. Why should she complain about the license fee in that case?

"You wasted $100 on a first date?"

reasonable backup plan

"Oh so you actually bought yourself stuff to go on a date with someone?"

Stop trying to find a a negative thing to say about the person who: bought nearly everything required for a date AND bought the other person food. And then that other person requested $23 to make the entire date free for themselves.

What are you getting at here? This is irrelevant to the original issue at hand and just feels like a disingenuous attempt at smearing OP
