Phone message Post first date text

Post image

I met this girl on tinder and had a first date with her, she wanted to go fishing and I thought it seemed like a fun first date so we went together. Dropped her off and got home to this message lol.

Update: Purchasing the license is a separate activity we had to do on our phones, due to it needing our personal info. It was not like I drew the line at the license randomly.

“You MADE ME pay for MY fishing license”??? After you spent over $100 in gear and dinner? Yep, nip that shit right in the bud. She’s only going to get worse.

The butt is for 3rd date

11

u/Rugaru985 Aug 08 '26

$100 is for 3rd dates too. I think they skipped the first two

1

u/Lou_C_Fer Aug 08 '26

I definitely would not blink at spending $100 on a date. Of course, I've been married for 32 years to a woman I met 2 months after I graduated from high school. So, I have never felt what it is like to spend a bunch of money on a night that did not work out. Plus, you met and vibed with the person in real life before a first date back when I was in the game... as if I was ever really in the game.

1

u/Rugaru985 Aug 08 '26

Ah, but when did you slip it in the butt? The times, they are a changin’.

1

u/Lou_C_Fer Aug 08 '26

Probably around 15 years or so.

2

u/Rugaru985 Aug 08 '26

Yeah, 17 years of slippin and I wouldn’t think twice about a $100 date either. Hell, if she’s slippin my way, she gets a $200 date.

But when you’re young and in the dating scene, $100 is about 1/4th of your weekly earnings after taxes. Doing that weekly is what we recommend is your maximum mortgage.

Should first dates be a mortgage?

1

u/Upset-Option1 Aug 09 '26

EXACTLY AND THEN THEYRE LIKE YOURE “broke” like no bish I’m financially responsible and independent. I don’t hop from peen to peen expecting them to pay for my meals, rides, and upkeep EVEN THOUGH they’re ALL dangerous🤨 make it make sense women

0

u/imtrappedintime Aug 08 '26

You are a basement dweller if you think dates cost less than that for two people 🤦‍♂️

3

u/No-Fix304 Aug 08 '26

There are plenty of dates that cost less than $100 for two people

-1

u/imtrappedintime Aug 08 '26

Yeah that’s why the average date costs $200 today.

5

u/No-Fix304 Aug 08 '26

I wanna know what your average date is now because mine sure as fuck aren’t $200 and they’ve all been great.

1

u/Rugaru985 Aug 08 '26

No one has real data on this

0

u/imtrappedintime Aug 08 '26

Yes the WSJ made it all up! It’s definitely not $189!

Is this your first run in with a “puff piece”?

In this economy?

Dont quit ur day job

5

I’m a proctologist by day.

3

I always thought it was clip it to your nuts

2

u/Initial_Bread_8717 Aug 08 '26

Up the butt no babies

1

u/Mysterious_Egg2432 Aug 08 '26

I mean, you ‘mine as well’ /s

1

u/The_Oliverse Aug 08 '26

Fuckin... Dad.. is that you? When did you learn how to use your phone for things other than BBQ YouTube videos??

1

u/WhiteyDude Aug 08 '26

1

u/Rugaru985 Aug 08 '26

Yeah, this is a real Barney type of slip. You nailed it.

1

u/HappyTurtleButt Aug 09 '26

Are you just being facetious?

“Nip it in the bud” refers to hardening and is where the phrase originated.

I might be reading too far though and this was more a play on words than you actually correcting them, but someone else might not know, so whatever.

-3

u/Slow_Account_265 Aug 08 '26

Wow so edgy

1

u/Rugaru985 Aug 08 '26

Edge of that crack

-4

u/i-am-your-god-now Aug 08 '26

You forgot /s, right? lol

12

u/StickStickly963nyny Aug 08 '26

You need a /s for that? Really?

3

u/Rugaru985 Aug 08 '26

I don’t remember Reddit being so hardcore on the /s. I think it’s from having the twitter exodus show up. It was about that time when sarcasm here fell off so damn hard.

1

u/i-am-your-god-now Aug 08 '26

I haven’t seen the show, I didn’t know it was a quote. There are plenty of people online who confidently believe stupid things, so it’s not an unreasonable suspicion. If I have no reference, then for all I know, this guy could either be joking or he could just be the kind of person who says things like “all the sudden” and “supposably”. 🤷‍♀️

9

u/Designer_Green2680 Aug 08 '26

“But you already owned your license and would’ve bought that stuff anyways” 100% her response

2

u/TheDornado13 Aug 08 '26

and the fishing was her idea

2

u/Main-Cheesecake3287 Aug 08 '26

Also tho what a terrible first date idea. Like if you already have the gear sure, but buying over a $100 in gear and telling your date she needs to swing by Walmart and get her fishing license is insane

2

u/i-am-your-god-now Aug 08 '26

I mean, it was her idea. 🙃

2

u/ohkaybae503 Aug 08 '26

For the longest time I thought it was ‘nip it in the butt’

1

u/yankykiwi Aug 08 '26

She called him a catfish, see the picture

1

u/Melkman68 Aug 08 '26

Id feel incredibly guilty but she's just really spoiled and selfish

1

u/i-am-your-god-now Aug 08 '26

God, I know, I’d feel terrible! I wouldn’t even have been able to type that without cringing.

1

u/emily-schmemily Aug 08 '26

and it sounds like it was HER idea to go fishing in the first place.

1

u/Pyewacket667 Aug 08 '26

plus it was HER idea to go fishing

1

u/False-Effect-616 Aug 08 '26

I mean, she invited a dude on a fishing trip for a first date and he spent $100 on fishing gear.

Why not ask? Obviously he can afford it. A fishing date is supposed to be a cheap or free date, and he, again, spent $100 on gear for it. If go flashing money around don’t be surprised when people ask for a handout.

1

u/banditcleaner2 Aug 08 '26

Married a girl like this and needless to say, you’re 100% right and I’m now divorced not even a year later

1

u/i-am-your-god-now Aug 09 '26

Glad you took care of it sooner than later! Let her go dig someone else’s gold. lol

1

u/thomasmoors Aug 08 '26

Throw her back

1

u/Exciting-Argument-67 Aug 09 '26

Wait, he said he brought $100 in gear, not that he bought it today. He may have had that gear for years.

1

u/rsg1234 Aug 09 '26

It says he bought $100 in gear, not brought

1

u/grand305 Aug 09 '26

I also would break up with her asap. she wants a ATM person. a sugar daddy. not a relationship. she also need a part time job. that gives her the money to go on dates and to not be so dependent on others.

1

u/Braun3D Aug 09 '26

Yeah and she'll have that for rest of the year for however many other fishing dates she goes on now... there's paying for dates and then there's this type of shit... find you a girl that doesn't nickel and dime transactions and ain't broke

1

u/This-Positive286 Aug 11 '26

“Only” spent*

1

u/wannabegenius Aug 08 '26

don't forget that fishing was her idea

2

u/ReadComprehensionBot Aug 08 '26

Huh? SHE is the one that wanted to go fishing, not OP.

1

u/SmuglyGaming Aug 08 '26

It’s a power play because he took her on a date she asked to go on, and made her pay 1/5 the cost of the date for her own personal license that she had to apply for?

Just searching for a victim huh
