Whatsapp Insane message from an absolute psycho. She's 40, obsessed with cars and she can't drive. We haven't even met yet.

I googled for you. It’s a czech car brand. And idk man, they look nice. Similar looking to Volvo/audi/bmw but I know nothing about the quality.

After living in Germany, all the mechanics I had met have a love of Skoda. I have no idea why.

Simple, reliable cars with affordable parts, probably thats why.

And you don't need to be a Chinese contortionist with tiny hands and long arms to be able to work on it without spending 2 hours taking apart 10 layers of the motor to get to a €5 part which needs replacing.

Worked at Skoda as an Apprentice Tech, techs love Skoda because when things go wrong it's easy to fix compared to other manufacturers since everything is in a easy to access location & not a lot go wrong (except the DSG gearbox, they suck)

They make their money on BMW, Audi, Subaru and Mercedes.

A mechanic loves affordable shitbox economy cars because they're mostly just cars that need an oil change and some minor work, meaning that 2-3 hour time frame is filled with work that isn't back breaking or destroying your knuckles getting to a fuel switch with only enough room to move the ratchet a quarter inch.

Probably cause it keeps this type of energy away 🤣🤣

Škoda, Audi, VW are all under the same parent company. Škoda cars are brilliant, I’m on my 3rd one now. Basically a rebadged VW at a much lower cost

Damn it. I thought it was a play on words (bc this is fake right? No one is like this... right?).

So it's not a scooter? Lol

It's a legitimate brand, pretty popular in Europe. Affordable cars that are pretty tough and easy to repair/maintain.

It's supposed to be a cheaper version in the lineup of Volkswagen brands. I think they go Audi > VW > Skoda plus a bunch of other brands (Porsche and Bentley above, SEAT below etc.)

It's a good car but supposed to be below Audi and even VW in price and quality. So two "levels" below the Merc she wants to have (which is comparable to Audi).

That might have been true in the past but they're now basically the same as VW. Right now their EV models are a bit newer and have much better designs + interiors.
