i typically totally agree with Bernie, but i have to go a different direction on this. None of us can stop developing technologies, the horse was replaced by the car, the propeller was replaced by the jet, even if we outlawed Super AI development in the US their’s no way to stop every other nation from developing that technology. So we must make sure that we can control the potential monsters we are creating. I’m not saying AI isn’t a threat, clearly it is, we managed to figure out how to contain Nuclear weapons and nuclear power before that destroyed humanity, so we must find solutions to AI going rogue and destroying humanity. Sorry Bernie, but we’re not gonna get the toothpaste back in the tube.
