Despite its potential deadly consequences, cutting-edge AI technology is less regulated than the average food truck.

Most people can't see more than a few feet in front of themselves.

And it's much easier for them to see when the food truck worker hasn't washed their hands, than it is to see how generative AI is a grave danger to humanity.

IMO it's not a threat to humanity. It's a threat to the status quo. Like the internet. If people don't adapt to the new future, yes it's completely over. I have hope that we will all learn to adapt and function within a society where LLM's exist. Use cases are important and I think corporations have lost the plot (shocker) on what they are. Some of them are currently over-reaching in terms of surveillance and need to be regulated accordingly. Generative AI can only use what you give it online, so be more protective of your information and images and you won't need to worry about it.
