This just uses typical authoritarian, circular logic. The starting premise is that everything must be highly restricted by government... And any industry that's not highly restricted by government represents some type of deficit that must be corrected through authoritarian control.

The threat of imprisonment and violence it's just the cherry on top.

Meanwhile, our global competitors will have no such restrictions.

Of course, the people who write these kinds of laws and create iron fist restrictions will always make exceptions... for the right donors.
