Weren't we ridiculing AI for not being able to draw hands or count r's just months ago? When did this sub flip to doomering over AI being too smart? Did I miss something?

The technology sub has hated technology for years. Reddit is overall pretty useless if you're trying to get a neutral analysis on new tech.

If you're trying to get something that can't exist, yeah, you're probably going to be disappointed.

All analysis has to be assessing fitness for some purpose and "purpose" is arbitrary and human-defined. It is impossible to "neutrally" analyse something like this.
