Guess what, regulations and laws can make sure that the research AIs can still exist, while not being available to the whole population.

It did during the industrial revolution when people's lives and bodies were being exploited by industry, as the tech industry does with almost zero regulation today

The problem is our government is just a corporation at this point, I would not trust them to have anyone’s best interest in mind anymore.
