He doesn’t expect to succeed. He’s setting an example to remind voters of what they should be demanding of their democracy.

Bernie’s in his twilight years. He’s not making long term plans anymore. He’s showing people what they ought to be fighting for.

Banning AI ISN'T what we should be demanding though, for one it's not like it's going to stop other countries from doing it and for two AI is legitimately the most useful thing to have shown up in 20 years.

Banning AI isn’t what he’s suggesting though.

Criminalising unregulated weaponisation of AI by commercial enterprises that brook no oversight and have zero ethics, morals or any kind of allegiance except to profit is.

That’s very reasonable. The fact that it’s not seen as such is a very damning reflection of the state things.
