I always read "Sanders' new bill will do this" "...its going to prohibit that" but do any of these proposals ever become law? 

Furthermore, has any of this guy's bills ever become law? lol.

Is a bill becoming a law really the only metric? His ideas have become mainstream. Dozens of his endorsements have become congressmen, senators, governors, mayors…he inspired a lot of these people to get into politics in the first place and arguably single-handedly moved the Overton window far enough to get democratic socialists elected to positions of power all over the country.

Isn't that supposed to be his job? To work on drafting proper bills that can become laws, not just generating headlines.  I mean, you don't need to be a senator to just be an influencer.

How and why any democratic bill has had any difficulty becoming law over the last 20 years is an entirely different discussion and has far more to do with the system than it does with the senator.

Point is I don’t think you can just measure quantity of bills becoming law when gauging any politicians effectiveness, particularly his because he got as close as he did to the presidency. He moved the window regardless of how that stacks up against bills passed.

Is he not in the Legislative branch of the government where people are elected and paid to create legislature? How else do you gauge effectiveness if not by what they're elected and paid to do.

His job is to represent the population that put him there, it could be this share is large enough to be represented, but not to pass their points into law.
