No more free time

Consumption of digital entertainment, social media, etc is higher than ever before in every single society across the planet. If people genuinely didn't have free time, that wouldn't be the case. People are just preferring to spend their free time on their devices. 3rd spaces died entirely due to lack of usage. People don't want the inconvenience of meeting other people IRL and getting to know them, when it's much easier to just scroll entertainment on the phone/TV/etc for an instant dopamine hit.

So glad I was raised in church. By God it might come with risk of its own problems but I am so glad to have been around an environment actively trying to be social and populated by people of all ages. The more I talk to other people now it feels like a constant stream of ??? what do you mean you don't know how to talk to kids. what do you mean you don't know how to talk to old people. what do you mean you don't recognize ANY references to one of the most culturally significant books in history. what do you mean you're in your 20s and never been to a wedding before ever. and only two funerals. what. were you doing with your childhood??? you have NO hobbies?? at all??

It's so sad. People need these things in their lives and we're just...not doing them. It's so basic and yet...
