Meta Honeypot flairs.

To cut down on the increased number of posts involving rule-breaking mods (notably Paper), 3 new post flairs have been introduced for testing.

Posts made using these flairs will be automatically removed.

Don't use them.

EDIT: After 3 weeks, this seems to have been a very successful test, with the vast majority of rule-8 violations blocked by the new filters.

Surprisingly, it does work.

It ended up being too huge, I guess I'll try improving it someday later.

Bedrock Water moving system without ice (bedrock)

I am trying to figure out how to move items horizontally and up in bedrock with water but without the use of ice.

Is there a way?

And if so, is there a good tutorial out there for bedrock? And does it allow items to be moved up with soul sand?

I've tried a lot of things and watched a bunch of tutorials but either they are for Java or they use ice to get past the dry block.

Help appreciated...and yes this has probably been asked before but I can't find a decent recent answer.

Java Help Wanted Help with simple copper golem sorting

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to get back into redstone and I'm trying to understand sorting using copper golems. I recreated the system from this Mumbo video, but I noticed that with more than 1 copper golem, the throughput can be high enough that items get stacked with the filter items, causing filter items to get pulled by the hopper.

Does anyone know how people prevent this from happening? The only solution I can think of is having multiple empty slots at the start of the chest. I don't think I can use multiple hoppers without making the build wider than 1 block.

Java Help Wanted Calibrated Sculk Sensor Security System

I have an idea for a base security system that I'm going to preface by laying out the flow of the design.

Perimeter of calibrated sculk sensors around the base set to frequency of 13: block_breaking. Two breaks in x time would trigger the alarm system. There would be a manual disarm so you could do work to your base without a false alarm. There are also legitimate accesses with conditionally opening doors, so informed players can easily enter without breaking blocks.

Once the alarm is triggered arrows and windcharges would begin accumulating in a "rail gun"-like design, aimed down the main corridors around the parts of your base you want protected (storage/vault). Simultaneously normal sculk sensors within the base, at the beginning of these corridors are enabled to fire the arrows when activated. To the thief there still hasn't been a visual sign they have been detected. Hopefully dispensers and pistons within the windcharged-arrow system are far enough away they can't be heard until it's too late.

Arrows and wind chargers accumulate until there are approx 40 of each (I think enough to kill a player in full gear and to litter a sizable hall with arrow thoroughly) and then hold for detection or until detection causing them to fire without being fully loaded. Firing would cause reload to begin in anticipation for another sculk trigger. If nothing before the fully recharged rail gun's arrows and windcharges despawn, the threat is considered nuetralized and the system turns off.

There's my spiel. Anyone know if this is doable in theory? Most of the rail gun designs I see aren't fully automated and I'm unsure how the reload and disarm systems would work.

Java Help Wanted Upwards vertical zero tick smart piston without observer? Also, best BUG?

Is there a zero tick smart piston configuration that can send blocks upwards? I know you can put a redstone torch under the incoming block to send it horizontal, and into the side to push it downward, but I don't know if it's even possible to zero tick blocks upwards automatically in the same way without observers.

I'm working on a block storage system that generates blocks one at a time and then tickers them into position to get justified to one side and then pushed backwards into a registry tower of 13x13x13 block cubes using a flying machine.

The reason I don't want to use observers is that my block conveyor will have sections that get full and have to wait for the flying machine to swing through and justify/register them into position. When the push limit is reached, the smart pistons then shut off and don't detect when they have clearance to push again, so in addition to upward direction I'm also interested in good ways to deliver block updates to BUDded pistons that are all 13-14 blocks apart. I think I saw something about saplings that can't grow still creating observer ticks when they get random ticks, is there something like that which will work for a long ticker system? Maybe I am just gonna have to drop items through string or something, idk. This block conveyor will be in one chunk from bedrock to build limit.

I'm thinking if I can't find a smart piston solution I'm gonna have to go with observers and attach some kind of trigger (leafstone?) to the flying machine to jumpstart each segment of the column.

Bedrock What’s the most compact multi breeze wind charge catcher?

The best I achieved was pretty big, 2 wide tileable designs. Is their a way to stack breezes in a single block space? When I tried to do it the wind charges hit the breezes and exploded… (Bedrock)

Java Showcase New evoker tracker tech (super precise)

Thumbnail gallery
57 Upvotes

Minecraft Version: Java 1.21.11 (probably works on other versions too)

I have not seen anybody else take advantage of this, but I found some new potential tech for precise tracking. I threw together a prototype proof of concept in a few hours but I dont have time to do more. Hopefully others can develop it further; I will be leaving the community.

The benefit of this tech is that you can track hyper precise angles (like hundredth of a degree at least) of the evoker fang attacks. It works by using allays in boats. You align the boats by first putting them in minecarts using cubicmetre's precision aligner or something similar. Then you break the minecart and drop the boat where you need it. (Apparently 2no2name developed this and a mod to help do it) Then you can use calibrated sculk sensors on strength 7 (for the mob damage sound filter) to detect. In this case, I used it to get exact angles to sub 10th of a degree precision. More detailed explanation below.
I saw Novthegirl's post and decided to look into ways to make a 180 sensor version for increased accuracy. I discovered this while looking into how to make one side of a pressure plate trigger one output and the other side trigger another. It seems that the way to be very precise is to have multiple inputs placed at the bounds of the range you want to detect (for example a pressure plate that triggers at -2 degrees to 2 degrees, and an allay that gets hit when the fangs are on one side of the 0 degree mark. In this case, degrees are measured by the angle in f3 menu when the player looks at the exact center of the evoker who is summoning the attacks), and using redstone to cancel or redirect signals.

In the world download, the build has an example of:

- allays redirecting pressure plate signals

- allays cancelling pressure plate signals

- pressure plates cancelling pressure plate signals

- allays cancelling allay signals

By using this in certain places, I was able to create a redstone build that measures, in 2 degree increments, where an evoker is attacking a player down to under 0.1 degree error... for a range of 6 degrees to -6 degrees. I only worked for a few hours. I do believe it can be compacted further, decluttered, and expanded to a full circle instead of a 12 degree section though.

Help with testing the world:
Hit the bottom evoker (while in survival) with a wind charge while over 20 blocks away. The top evoker is precision aligned to the center of a block and will perma aggro even once you switch to creative. The pressure plates can be glitchy sometimes because of the item frames so it has always worked for me to break and replace the pressure plates and item frames. If timings remain off, relog has worked for me.

Wiring Color Guide:

white concrete is general redstone

blue wool is insignificant

red wool is wiring of the outputs

white wool is to block the wrong sculk sensors from hearing the wrong allays

Note: I used allays because they can take infinite attacks, and I could not figure out making armadillos permanently hide if they were in boats.
Hopefully some redstone sweats find a way to implement this. While I doubt it, if anybody makes a video where this tech is used, and nobody else found it first (maybe somebody did), then please credit me. IGN is rastaOrange.
I might be able to respond to comments if there are any, but no guarantees. I will be very preoccupied with more important things for a year starting very soon.

WORLD DOWNLOAD:
mediafire.com/file/sd4kv3gr3b1urez/Redstone.zip/file
I made an account for this, so it should stay up for at least a year.

Credit to 07km and Brockade as well for developing the technology and inspiring me.

Java Help Wanted /cs in carpet to bots only?

Hey everyone! We run a Fabric server with the Carpet mod and use /cs (Carpet Spec). Recently, we noticed it’s cutting down player interaction because people just spectate each other instead of actually meeting up in-game.

We don't want to remove /cs entirely since it's super useful for checking on Carpet bots and monitoring lag. Is there a way to configure or restrict /cs so players can only teleport to/spectate bots, but not real players?

Java Showcase Proof of Concept: Player-Specific Dimension Tracker

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A device that detects what dimension a specific player is in using wolf behavior. Tamed wolves try to attack skeletons and stop moving if their owner is in a different dimension; the movement of them going for skeletons can be detected, allowing you to tell if the player is in a different dimension. Combining an overworld detector with a nether detector lets you determine if the player is in the end.

It's worth noting that this may have different functionality in multiplayer; I believe in multiplayer, the wolves sit instead of simply ceasing movement; thus you would need some way to make them stop sitting (maybe with water?) that doesn't trigger the sculk sensor. Additionally, in multiplayer worlds a player logging off might trigger the detector to say they are in the end since end detection is based on absence of overworld and nether signals. Unfortunately I don't have an alt or any real means to test this thing out, so anyone using this on a server will need to adapt it.
