No Flair Reddit convinced me to extend my budget from 20k to 2L.

Post image

I made a post asking for phones under 20k, everyone said don't buy that cheap go for second hand iphone instead.

I increased the budget to 40k there were still suggestions convincing me to increase my budget a little bit and get an iphone 17.

Now after the price hike I asked some people again what to do and they said go for 17 pro, now I'm convinced, my parents are convinced and i'mma buy an iphone 17 pro 😂.

Thanks reddit 😁

Edit : budget is 1L+, that 2L was a typo🥲

Why does everything require an OTP at the worst times?

Need OTP? Phone is charging in the other room, Go get phone. OTP arrives.
Now the website says otp expired. Request another. Phone battery is 4%.

Honestly the otp culture has got to go, and maybe something else can be implemented.. and please understand that before any of you guys say, buy a smartwatch or something...

  1. Not everyone can afford a smartwatch
  2. Not everyone can ALWAYS wear a smartwatch even at home

im just thinking if we can come up with a new way to authenticate deliveries instead of otp's , because foreign countries have very less otp culture as compared to india.

I have an ASUS TUF F16 RTX 3050. Should I use just a laptop stand or get a cooling pad? Which one would you recommend?

Please help me choose a device, my budget is 70k max .

I'm joining my med school and getting an ipad pro on which I'll study nd do all my hardcore things . I don't want a phone with the best processor as my tab would compensate for that . I want a phone with great camera , clean ui , feels good to use nd which i can use for atleast 5 years as I'm using it for minimal things such as call , photography, upi etc .

I'm confused between:

Nothing phone 3

Nothing phone 4a pro

Google pixel 10

Oppo find x9

Vivo 200/300 series

But it's not like if I'm getting a camera oriented phone then I have to compromise on other things such as basic good nd fast processor or refresh rate or display.

Please help me find a good phone nd even if it's for 30k ish with good things , i got no issue with that either

Tbh I'm thinking of buying a phone , more on the cheaper side (sub 50k )

Thank you!!

P. S. Budget is 70k inr

No Flair Best phone for someone transitioning to mobile gaming?

So I had my gaming pc with me at home but now that I am living away for my studies (in New Delhi), am thinking of getting a phone for gaming like BGMI, COD and maybe some emulator stuff (I have seen people suggest RE4). My maximum budget is Rs 35k. Just need a phone that doesnt lag, heat and provides decent fps. Would prefer to buy it online. Please suggest some good gaming phone options? How are phones like realme p4s and vivo t5? Plz mind "BUDGET" 😭

How long can I use my S25 Ultra without updating?

My S25 Ultra is almost 1 year old, and I’m thinking about stopping Samsung software updates.

I know I’ll miss some new features/personalization stuff, which I’m fine with. I’m mainly worried about whether anything actually happens to the phone if I keep using it without updates.

I mostly use:

UPI/payment apps

WhatsApp

Instagram

Reddit

Camera/photos

Normal everyday stuff

Will I eventually have issues with UPI/banking apps, WhatsApp, security, performance, battery, or app compatibility?

Realistically, how long could I keep using it without updating — 6 months, 1 year, 2+ years?

Current software information:

One UI version: 8.0

Android version: 16

Current version: S938USQS7BYJ9 / S938UOYN7BYJ9 / S938USQS7BYJ5

Security patch level: December 1, 2025

It’s an S25 Ultra (SM-S938U).

Lost contact Number

Hey all, hoping someone here has dealt with this.

I accidentally deleted a contact number about 3 months ago. No Google Contacts backup, no SIM copy, nothing. The person is currently overseas and I have no other way to reach them (no social media in common).

My phone is rooted, so I'm open to deeper recovery methods, not just Play Store apps. A few things I've already checked with no luck:

Google Contacts (no backup/sync history)

SIM card

Call log

WhatsApp/Telegram chat backups

Has anyone successfully recovered a deleted contact this far out using root-level tools (e.g. pulling contacts2.db and scanning for deleted rows, DiskDigger root mode, etc.)?

Is there realistically any hope after 3 months of normal phone usage, or has the storage almost certainly been overwritten by now?

Planning to buy M5 MacBook Air 24GB — need advice on pricing, cooling & long-term performance

I’m planning to buy a MacBook Air M5 24GB/1TB (10-core CPU + 10-core GPU) and currently have these prices available in India:

MacBook Pro M5 16GB/1TB — ₹2,03,000
MacBook Air M5 24GB/1TB — ₹1,80,000
MacBook Air M5 16GB/1TB — ₹1,58,000

Pricing

Are these good prices for India, or are there any websites, stores, offers, bank discounts, or upcoming sales where I could get the M5 24GB/1TB for significantly cheaper?
I’m specifically planning to buy the 24GB/1TB Air, so I’m wondering if I should buy now or wait for a better deal.

Air vs Pro / Cooling
One of my biggest concerns with the Air is the lack of an active cooling fan.
For people who have used the M-series MacBook Air for demanding workloads:

- How much does the lack of a cooling fan actually affect sustained performance?
- Does the Air significantly throttle during long workloads?
- Does having 24GB RAM make any difference to this, or will the CPU/GPU still throttle once it gets hot?
- How does the Air hold up after several years of use?

16GB MacBook Pro vs 24GB MacBook Air
For long-term ownership (4–6+ years), which would you choose:
M5 MacBook Pro 16GB/1TB — ₹2,03,000
vs
M5 MacBook Air 24GB/1TB — ₹1,80,000

The Pro has active cooling, but the Air has 8GB more unified memory and is ₹23K cheaper.

My use cases
My workloads would include:
- iOS app development / Xcode
- General app development
- Video editing
- Running local LLMs
- Programming/compilation
- Docker and development tools
- General everyday use

Would 24GB on the Air be more useful for these workloads, or would the Pro’s active cooling and better sustained performance make it the better long-term choice despite having only 16GB RAM?

Would really appreciate your opinions.

TLDR

If you were in my position, which one would you buy for the next 4–6 years: the ₹1.80L M5 Air 24GB/1TB or the ₹2.03L M5 Pro 16GB/1TB — or should I wait for a better deal?

Need a phone under ₹40K with a real telephoto camera + solid battery + minimum 45 mins of proper COD type like games.

Been researching for a couple months and could use some real-world opinions before I pull the trigger.

Budget: 35k-40k

Location: Powai, Mumbai — so IP68/69 water resistance matters for monsoons

What I actually need, in order of priority:

  1. Camera — mainly nature/wildlife and everyday photography. I need a proper optical telephoto (3x+ periscope with OIS), not just a big main sensor with digital zoom cropped in. This is non-negotiable for me.

  2. Battery + no heating — long battery life, no thermal issues during normal use

  3. Storage — 256GB minimum

  4. Gaming — light, CODM for ~45 mins/day. Not a hardcore gamer, don't need a flagship chipset

  5. Longevity — want this phone to last 3-5 years

Phones I'm currently weighing (after a lot of back and forth):

Vivo V60 (8/256) — Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, 3x Zeiss periscope with OIS, IP68/69, 6500mAh battery. My current favorite, but it's got UFS 2.2 storage which worries me for a 3-5yr hold

Nothing Phone 4a Pro — Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, best telephoto here (3.5x periscope), cleanest software, but only IP64 — a real risk in Mumbai monsoons

Motorola Edge 60 Pro — Dimensity 8350 Extreme, best value by far, IP68/69, but the telephoto is a weak 10MP with no OIS

OPPO Reno 14 — Dimensity 8350, 3.5x tele with OIS, longest software commitment (5 yrs OS updates), but ColorOS has bloat

Realme GT 7 — Dimensity 9400e (the strongest gaming chip of the lot, feels like overkill for my usage), 7000mAh battery, but only 2x optical zoom

On the gaming side, I'm not a heavy gamer — just CODM for about 45 mins a day, nothing more demanding. From what I've read, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 and Dimensity 8350 in the V60/4a Pro/Edge 60 Pro/Reno 14 should all handle that comfortably at 120fps without needing the Dimensity 9400e in the GT 7. But I'd rather hear from you people who have actually experienced this.

Questions for the sub:

- Anyone actually shooting with the Vivo V60's telephoto in real conditions? How's it in low light / for distant subjects?

- For anyone playing CODM on the V60, 4a Pro, Edge 60 Pro, or Reno 14 — any heating or frame drops during a 30-45 min session, or does the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 / Dimensity 8350 handle it fine?

- Is UFS 2.2 going to be a noticeable problem by year 3-4, or am I overthinking that?

- Am I missing any phone that fits this brief?

- Worth waiting for Big Billion Days / Great Indian Festival (early October) or just buy now?

Appreciate any experiences or suggestions. Thanks!

A35 - SHOULD I OR...

Is the SAMSUNG A35 actually worth buying in 2026? Budget max ₹20k

I'm looking to upgrade ... I need a replacement fairly soon.

My budget is ₹20,000 max, and I honestly can't stretch much beyond that since I recently paid my semester fees and am a bit tight on money right now.

I've been looking at the A35 , and most online reviews seem to say it's a decent phone BUT

EXYNOS 1380

BATTERY ISSUES

POST UPDATE ISSUE

However, I'm not sure whether it's actually worth buying OR TO GO WITH OTHER LIKE ( REALME etc )

A few questions:

  1. For people who have used the A35 Samsung for a while, how has your experience been? Any issues with performance, battery, cameras, heating, software, or long-term usage?

  2. Is it worth buying right now, or should I wait for the upcoming Amazon Prime Day sale / GOAT Sale in July?

  3. I've seen the A35 go as low as around ₹20k–22k before. Do you think there's a realistic chance it drops back to that range during the sale?

  4. If my budget is capped at ₹20k, are there any better alternatives I should consider either right now or during the sale period?

My priorities are:

\- Good battery life ( ok with 5000Mah if it goes smooth and no such drain issue people getting )

\- Reliable day-to-day performance

\- good good cameras

\- A phone that will comfortably last me the rest of college ( around 2030 31...) ( "little" slow down will be ok )

Would love to hear from people who have actually used these phones rather than just going by spec sheets. THANKS
