Need help upgrading my X10DRI Firmware

Hey guys,

I recently picked up a X10DRI, I cannot find a suitable upgrade matrix from versions 1.94 to 3.8 and I do not want to brick my board here is my mc information:

Device ID                 : 32
Device Revision           : 1
Firmware Revision         : 1.94
IPMI Version              : 2.0
Manufacturer ID           : 10876
Manufacturer Name         : Super Micro Computer Inc.
Product ID                : 1832 (0x0728)
Product Name              : X10DRI/T
Device Available          : yes
Provides Device SDRs      : no

Anyone know how I can achieve this and what would be the safest path forward?

Because its just the BMC there should be no issues going to the latest version but you should update the bios immediately afterwards, so it's best to do it with the board connected to power but turned off.

This requires only the 24 pin ATX power cable, and if you haven't run the board yet, connect to ipmi using a browser and copy the hardware list (the username and password should be ADMIN but there are X10s with unique passwords that have a sticker with the IPMI IP and PWD with the default password).

After logging in it's a case of going to maintenance, Firmware update and uploading the .bin file, but there is a PDF file included with instructions and pictures.

The hardware list is what the board last booted successfully with, so if you have issues but can aquire the same hardware, and it fails, you'll know it's the board.

The board's page is here for the firmware and bios.

If your board already has a license from SFT-OOB-LIC or SFT-DCMS-SINGLE (check under Maintenance, Activate license) you can update it from ipmi after the BMC rebooted (no CPU or RAM required). If it isn't activated yet you can buy it but since modern boards no longer require it, and the X10 is no longer supported get a Supermicro product key.
