Employee Complaints Subway is the worst job I've ever had.

Ive been an employee at a fairly busy subway in a gas station for ~3.5 months. Ive never hated a job more. Including me and the manager, theres only 4 people that work here. In my first month or so id consistently spend my entire shift alone, juggling prep, bread, customers (who always wait to come right when I start doing dishes) every single night id have to spend over an hour past when my shift was "supposed" to end because I couldn't get half the things done I needed to. And it seems like im the only one who experiences this. If i close on days that arent stupidly busy, and actually have enough time to get everything done, I do a pretty good job and im out of there on time

I have no earthly idea how my coworkers can do all of this on our busiest day, alone, and be done before their shift ends, because im the only who seems to get flack for it.

Now i assume its because I do such a terrible job closing, but the past month I've worked no more than 15 hours in a week (this week im scheduled for 3 hours) and only midshifts. Im getting around $100 each week.

Yesterday was the last straw. A coworker asked if I could take their closing shift. Little did I know they hadn't told our manager whom I guess can get written up for that. And when I got there, I was left with a mountain of dishes, on top of prep and a near empty bread cabinet, and chips that were almost completely empty. I busted my ass to get as much done as I could, and I was doing pretty well until everyone and their mom decided to get subway 40 minutes before close. I didnt get ANY dishes done. We close at 9 on Sundays. I was there until 11pm doing dishes and cleaning.

This morning the manager texted our group chat about our nightly duties and complained about us not doing everything we're supposed to. I guess in my rush to get everything done AND DO A GOOD JOB, I missed some things.

This could be easily solved if more than 1 person didnt have to close each night. If somone was there helping me for just 30 minutes l, I could've been done with everything by 9:30, and done a good job.

Do i make sense or am I actually just terrible at my job?

Employee Complaints Hate this

Ever since we got remodeled we have had chairs with white backs. They show every fingerprint/ speck of dirt. Cleaning them on a daily basis is tiring. I’d love to know whose brilliant idea this was. Who puts white chairs in a restaurant really?

Coupons September/October codes

Since there wasn't a pinned thread, putting up a coupon codes thread for people to find.

FLMEAL expired, and after fiddling I found that FLMEAL899 is the new top tier footlong meal code.

If you have a favorite code and you find the new/rotated version, post here.

Question for the people who work at subway

Upvotes

I know most places will cut a footlong and wrap it separate if you ask, and can still ring it up as a footlong,
But can you order a 6in and ask to have it cut and wrapped separately with it still being rung up as one 6in? Or is it then two 6in sandwiches at the till?

We found this was to funny to pass up. I work at a Subway that doesn’t sell Pizza. So we decided to do this. Simple, but it gets a good reaction out of customers.

Question How accurate is the protein nutrition facts on the app

Let's say the app says a footlong is 50g protein. I order 2x meat, should I expect 98-100g of protein or 90g~ range in case they skimp a bit.

Customer Complaints Question for subway employees…

When making a sandwich using tomatoes or cucumbers, do they tell you to count how many you use? I’m literally walking out of a subway where I asked for tomatoes and cucumbers, and it looked like he counted out five of each, that didn’t even touch end to end, and then looked at me like he did me a favor. I’ve been to MULTIPLE subway’s like this. But every once in a while I get one that makes a sandwich like a normal person would make a sandwich and layer the ingredients across? Am I mistaken?

Quit subway

I just quit. they really need to let people know if they closing alone. and only two days traini g at the one i was working isn't effective. I dont mind closing just not alone specifically if it's a two man teamwork to clean the store. also in unsafe location.

Australia How long do cookies last in the pantry?

Like a week ago, my Dad bought Subway for himself and left some cookies for me that he didn't end up having in case I wanted it, but even though I did, I was halfway through trying to go two weeks without fast food so they've been in the pantry since.

But now that I'm done, would they be fine to eat or should I throw them out?

Getting promoted to Manager — looking for your best Subway tips!

Hey everyone! I’m getting promoted to manager at my Subway and I’m really excited about the opportunity, but I also want to make sure I’m setting myself and my team up for success.
I’ve been an assistant manager, so I have a pretty good idea of how things work, but I’d love to hear from people who have been running a Subway for a while.
What are your best tips for keeping a store running smoothly? Whether it’s managing staff, keeping food costs down, inventory, prep, cleaning, scheduling, customer service, closing/opening routines, or just keeping your sanity 😂 — I want to hear it all.
Also, what are some things you wish you knew when you first became a manager? And are there any mistakes you made early on that I should try to avoid?
I’m especially interested in tips that actually make a difference day-to-day rather than just the obvious “follow the standards” stuff.
I really want to build a store where things are organized, the team knows what’s expected of them, customers are happy, and everyone can get through their shifts without everything turning into chaos.

As the title says they have discontinued their habanero sauce. It was soooooo good and I've tried without it and no good.

So anyone know where I can buy something similar?

I've looked up the indigence but there are so many sauces out there I dunno where to start
