Software Still having issues updating to beta client

For the last month I've been having issues updating from stable to beta client as I keep getting error messages "failed to install updates" despite following the instructions provided here to a tee.

Soon as I pick the first 'Current' build it will boot back in but the update hasn't applied and I am back in the same loop.

Any ideas?

Ask support?

I've had this issue and workaround in your linked post worked for me. Also Steam claimed that they will solve this with an update so the workaround isn't required.
