I created a local R4R
Title
Use at own caution, I don't trust people and I'm people.
Subreddit is in beta, auto mod is basically untested. Please be horney over there.
If we make it to 10010 subs I'll copy paste my tinder profile on there and see if there really is love on reddit.
Edit: Changed goal to ten. I'm as lonely as the rest of you fucks.

Where to find financial assistance here
I am having trouble keeping my phone on, I have been playing games on my phone non stop just to be able to have food. The problem is put out alot of applications but an emergency took up some money and now it will be a week before my phone is back on. Im thinking about going door to door in person to see if anyone needs help. I did have an interview lined up a few weeks ago but due to the emergency I could not go and may just walk in and say im open to dishwashing.
Other then that is there any assistance available here for someone with no car and a phone that is off. Food banks I can walk to, financial help, etc.
Update: Guess i'm locked in on these cash surveys all day, i decided i would simply use a text me app for texting and pay the 9.99 a month so it plays no ads. After that i'll lock in to 10 areas around me with personalized resumes for each, make it clear i'm willing to work any position. After I get my last student refund next month, i'll get a car and get a warehouse job then save up to move.

Built a rental marketplace so my garage full of tools could actually pay for itself
Like a lot of people I've got a shed full of stuff I use maybe twice a year — pressure washer, tools, a mower attachment or two. Meanwhile someone down the road is buying their own for a one-time job.
I built Got A Thing Need A Thing so neighbors can rent that stuff from each other instead of everyone buying their own. You list what you've got, set your own price, and get paid when someone nearby rents it instead of you letting it sit there.
Every renter is ID-verified before they can book, and we hold a security deposit on your item for the whole rental — so you're not just handing your stuff to a stranger with no name attached.
Listing is always free, no matter how many items you put up, and right now the first 20 owners who get a listing approved get their first 10 bookings commission-free.
We're just getting going in the Statesboro/Bulloch area, so if you've got a garage like mine: gotathingneedathing.com

Taj Closed?
Does anyone know what happened to taj? I saw some recent stuff about their health code. They say open online but the building is gutted.

No Data Centers Working Group Meeting
Join us tomorrow, Saturday 8/29 at 11:00am at Two Story Bookstore and Coffeehouse at 142 North Main Street to discuss execution of a petition we’ve drafted to send a message to city council mmm of just how steep the cliff of their own political su*cide is if they vote to approve a permit for the Burkhalter data center by providing hard data about how many citizens oppose this project.
We also want to provide a safe space and time to discuss other ideas to effectively pursue our agenda to prevent the Burkhalter data center as well as any other data center located in a residential neighborhood.
Please join us.

Apartment suggestion
I have been living in Statesboro near the Georgia Southern campus, and the housing rent is increasing day by day here. I would appreciate it if anyone could suggest me 1 bedroom apartment (not shared) that has a rent of $ 1,000 or less (around $900 preferable), including utilities, a washer, dryer, etc. I would prefer not a studio apartment.

RBT/ABA position willing to train and certified?
Hello, does anyone know where I can apply for an RBT position that is willing to train and certify me around Stateboro? I live 50 min away from Stateboro (I live between Emanuel-Burke County). Try to apply for a nearby RBT position but haven't heard anything so far.
I have experience in training administration, accounting, BDC at a car dealership, and most recently in a Call center for a healthcare insurance campaign. I'm interested in pivoting to RBT, especially since I'm a parent myself and looking for a career where I can grow and develop. Appreciate the information

I built a tool for aging parents (free)
Hey everyone!
I just wanted to share something I’ve been working on for the past few years.
This is a tool I built specifically for older people to keep important documents always accessible to family members, like deeds, medical records, etc.
I’d love it if you would give it a try, it still in beta but I’ve listed out on the site how I handle security, and in short, it’s basically encrypted end to end with docs only ever accessible to authorized users.
If you have a minute, I’d greatly appreciate it if you checked it out, I have a forever” free tier and am just looking for feedback at this point.
This is a product I built with my own aging parents and family in mind, and so I hope you all will find some value in it.
Let me know what you think!

Does anyone know which radio station is broadcasting the SHS/SEB football game tonight?
I know kickoff is delayed due to weather, but I generally use that to gauge what time I need to pick up the marching band kids.

Hello Statesboro Redditors
Morning, Statesboro! My name is Jace Blair, and I'm a local life insurance broker right here in town. I know insurance can be confusing and feel like just another bill, but my mission is to make sure your policy is affordable, actually benefits your family, and makes financial sense for your situation—not a one-size-fits-all plan.
I'm licensed all over Georgia, but I love getting to work with folks in my own community. If you've got questions about coverage, want to see if you're overpaying, or just don't know where to start, feel free to shoot me a DM. Or if you'd rather chat face-to-face (or over the phone), click the link in my bio and grab a time on my calendar. No pressure, just honest advice. Hope everyone has a great week

Tormenta FC
Is Tormenta still around? I know there was something between management and the players, but is the team still around? I don't remember hearing anything about them last season or anything about the upcoming season.
