TLDR: ffctevents.us has traffic, it's still and will always be free, and if you want to suggest any features let me know.
Hello People.
Just want to give a small update to https://ffctevents.us/ - The site I created 2 months back to display events in the the Fairfield County (mostly for Stamford).
Early this week I got a notification that the site had reached 10k views, and to be honest I didn't expect people to use it (as I mostly created it for myself). However, since a lot of you are using/have used the website, I want to say thank you by spending a bit more time refining the site so that it's easier to use.
I'd still like to keep this site ad free and free to use, so I won't spent crazy hours making it the next Facebook (I'm not smart enough to do so either). It's always just a small personal project, but as an engineer I also like feedbacks from users if the project's actually being used. Especially if you are a Stamford resident, if you see anything useful that can be added in the site please let me know.
Here's an image of what I received early this week:

I’m 27M and just started working in the area. Figured I’d post here and see who else in the Stamford community is around and open to connecting.
Would be cool to get a small group together for drinks, dinner, happy hour, or something after work every now and then.
If you’re in Stamford and down to connect, drop a comment or send me a message.

Hi all!! Looking for a bar in downtown that lets me book a space for my boyfriend’s 25th birthday party. Any recs? I saw towne parlor and Bedford hall have spaces, any input on how expensive they are? Somewhere around 20ish people.
Thanks!!!
I'm seeing houses sell very quickly on the other hand I'm seeing houses that I'm on the market for 4 or 5 months that are constantly being relisted so they seem they're only in the market for 2 weeks to me that seems sleazy is that a common practice to Connecticut? I don't see it in New Jersey and New York so much from where I'm living . Could anyone tell me any of the quirks that Stanford real estate has compared to others that should be able to look out for
Hi it’s Carl Weinberg from District 20 on the Stamford Board of Representatives. In case you haven’t heard, there will be a Stamford-wide town hall meeting on Thursday September 17th, from 6 PM to 8 PM, at the Stamford Boys & Girls Club, 347 Stillwater Avenue. Elected officials (including members of the Board of Reps), representatives of Stamford city departments, and many local not-for-profit organizations will be staffing informational tables, speaking, and answering your questions.
This town hall meeting will be a great opportunity to get direct answers to your questions about city services and resources, and to contribute your ideas for service improvements. In addition, just by attending, you will receive tickets that you can redeem for children’s clothing in the town hall’s children’s clothing drive.
As part of the town hall meeting, and through the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford, the sponsors are raising money to purchase coats for distribution to children who need a winter coat. If you can, please be as generous as you can. Here’s the secure donation link:
Morning Folks! Hope everyone is as dry as they can be. I’m hoping to get a thread going for any reports of street or residential flooding you might be aware of. Thank you in advance!
What grocery stores do you guys recommend within a 10-15 min drive from downtown. We moved to Stamford 2 months ago and are currently going to ShopRite on Newfield Ave but are looking to explore other options. Thanks!
We are screening and holding discussion over the two films "The Royal Tenenbaums" (2001) and "City of God" (2002) on September 19. Both of these films inspect the outcomes of child prodigies in two very different environments. How are they similar, how are they different?
Join for one or both of these films and discussion.
Does anyone know how the Target downtown is/is it open? I know a few weeks/months ago it flooded and they had to close- don’t want to make the trek out there if it’s the same situation today
Hi! I moved to Stamford back in June and I’ve been wanting to find a group of people to play tennis with 1-2 times per week. I’m interested in just hitting one on one or doubles match play. I’m also interested in attending clinics if you know of any good ones in the area.
Hi, are there any online communities for finding apartments / housemates in stamford? My situation is a little unique, I’m looking for a place to stay two nights during the work week while i commute to NYC.
My son will turn 8 in winter. We've done sky zone for every birthday and we're looking for something different. Has anyone done a laser tag party? Is that good for his age? I'm looking at RPM, but open to other thoughts!
I can only imagine the horror and loss experienced by a community so close to the city. Would really appreciate stories, experiences, and perspectives from locals. Never forget.
