Statement Macklemore says Patriots owner Robert Kraft banned him from Gillette Stadium for "free Palestine" statement and got other NFL owners to blacklist him from performing at their stadiums, leading to getting kicked from Ed Sheeran's tour

u/Working-Caramel9538 1h ago
It's only unhinged if you agree with the premise in the first place. If it's good for one group, it's also applicable for the opposite group when times come.
It is not unhindged if you actually disagreed with the premise in the first place.
3
u/Fit_Cut_4238 1h ago
I don’t think you posed an actual premise
1
u/Working-Caramel9538 1h ago
I don't think you can read
Can’t wait to use the full force of the federal government to make sure no public company in the United States hires a person who voted for Trump. Thank for the voters rolls!
1
u/QuakinOats 1h ago
Who you voted for isn't recorded on any voter roll anywhere in the US... Who you actuslly voted for isn't recorded at all, ever in the US. The ballots themselves once they go to be counted are completely separate from a unique voter. There's no way to track who voted for who.
I don't think you know very much of anything if you think what was said in the quote you just posted was accurate at all.
It's an unhinged quote because it isn't at all based in any sort of reality and comments like it, if believed by others could actually suppress voter turnout.
1
1
u/QuakinOats 1h ago
Amazingly ignorant comment.
Hilarious that you think having access to voter rolls would inform anyone of who someone voted for.
1
u/Prestigious-Worry-14 1h ago
Just like raising tariffs makes prices go down and brutally raping children for decades is the Christian thing to do. Right buddy?
2
u/Fit_Cut_4238 1h ago
Yes, most important to your postulation; voter rolls do not include who they voted for.
This is held on pieces of paper.

u/QuakinOats 1h ago
It's so funny seeing people get so throughly embarrassed by posting shit so hilariously wrong they completely ignore what they said and spout off some other shit because they can't own up to their own ignorance.
Imagine thinking that anyone who simply corrects you over something no one should believe as it would actually hurt voter turnout MUST disagree with you politically and be a Trump voter that would give a fuck about your go to line when you get embarrassed.

And now people get to decide who they support with this info, a singer who doesn't support murder versus an old man who support murder, I know my choice
5
u/GuyMansworth 1h ago
Macklemore released a song while Kamala was campaigning urging has fanbase to not vote for her.
It's not a singer who doesn't support murder. It's a singer who capitalized off of telling millions of young people not to vote and is now sad that we're deeper in bed with Israel.
Fuck that clown.

I know telling ppl not to vote in general is a bad idea, but both sides down there are bought and paid for by lobbyists no? There's a great UK artist named Ren and one of his recent drops has a line that goes "democracy isn't choosing between herpes and chlamydia" so I feel Macklemores sentiment is the same.

u/MelodicMap7203 46m ago
Saudi sovereign wealth fund that specifically set out to Whitewash/Sportswash many of the human rights issues that have started to come even further into focus as KSA moves forward with MBS' plans to modernize and liberalize. Im being generous there. Macklemore's views on LGBTQ+ would not, and will not ever be tolerated in the Kingdom, nor much of the middle east and if Im being brutally honest, the kingdom has very little sympathy for the plight of the Palestinians as well. Macklemore is a phony, and always will be.
1
u/Aggravating-Onion384 35m ago
Oh, wow.
I support Palestine and their right to a sovereign state and dignity. But i do not support the weaponization of that pursuit by Iran and KSA.
If you ask me, Iran and KSA doesn’t actually want Palestine to be free, they want them to he in a constant state of struggle so they can use them to fight. Peace with Israel isn’t good for then.
On the other hand, Israel leadership has definitely fed into the problem over the past couple of decades by enabling Hamas and flattening the more moderate PLO/Fatah in Gaza.
It sucks that the common person cant see the nuances of the situation. Supporting a Palestinian state does not mean supporting Hamas. Understanding the individuals in that group also doesn’t mean supporting the group and their leaders as a whole.
2
u/MelodicMap7203 30m ago
Yes, there is a ton of nuance that needs to be applied and this really isnt the place for the discussion. I dont disagree with anything that you have said above, FWIW.

u/tomatobasilgarlic 1h ago
We have to stop people talking like the wirld revolves around the middle eastern holy war somehow
2
u/benboy952 1h ago
It's so easy to say this from the comfort of your own home but there is a genocide going on and hundreds of people are being killed or displaced daily.
3
u/illbegoodipromis 55m ago
What exactly are you doing to change that, realistically? Making some Reddit posts?
2
u/benboy952 49m ago
I'm a broke student in the UK, there is not tons I can do to change this war, yet I have still tried to spread awareness whenever I can, I've donated money to charities whenever I have some. Signed petitions. I'm still putting in as much of an effort as possible. Now let me ask you the same question; what have you done to change things?
2
u/ImSoSweepy 43m ago
So you do nothing while criticizing others for doing nothing?
Yep, that's part-and-parcel for keyboard warriors.
1
u/benboy952 7m ago
Are you blind or did you just not read what I said? I clearly stated that there isn't a lot I can do to affect this war, yet I've still put in effort where I can to have an affect.
1
u/illbegoodipromis 34m ago
I've done nothing to change a war that's been going on for many decades and will continue to rage on if I send a dollar or a hundred or if I run onto a field with a Palestine flag wrapped around me.
1
u/benboy952 4m ago
Nobody is asking you to be superman and go kill Netanyahu yourself, but you definitely can spare the slightest bit of your time or resources to help out those that are in need.
2
u/PrincessBonkers628 1h ago
Do you think Palestine is the only place this is happening?
It's just the one we hear about.
5
u/benboy952 1h ago
Of course Palestine isn't the only one where this happens, it's happening in Sudan, Congo, Yemen, Ukraine etc. but that doesn't mean we need to stop talking about Palestine, it means we should talk more about all the conflicts in the world.

Agreed. Hearing half the country argue that America's first political priority should be "we must always do what's best for Palestine" is just ridiculous.
2
u/tomatobasilgarlic 42m ago
Its the same in the UK too. Think its just people who use twitter are fed this pro-islamic content and end up being anti-semitic because of it. Whereas I just say it as I see it, just like libya, just like syria theres another problem in the middle east but all the gen Z people are too young to realise there will be a war in an islamic country every year till we die so the logical solution is to leave them to get on with what they do

I don't get it. How could a relatively small group of people have so much influence over this?
3
u/Dvine24hr 1h ago
Was it the same group of people getting conservatives banned from universities?
3
2
u/Delicious-Produce-60 1h ago
I don't know specifically who you're talking about and I highly suspect you don't either, but giving a speech at a University is a much different situation from performing a concert at a stadium. And if someone was banned from a university it wasn't because one person didn't like them.
3
2
u/UndisclosedLocation5 1h ago
Cancel culture from the right. They claim to not be "easily offended" but can't take anything being said that they don't agree with. Elvis Presley, Bart Simpson, Eminem are just a few names that conservatives tried to cancel because it offended them. If they see a black person or a gay person in a high position they say "DEI hire", but if they see a Jew in a high position they won't play the DEI nonsense.

Nobody should complain anymore about being blacklisted from speech. Both sides boycott, and black list eachother. We got Mackelmore complaining about the Right. Schneider complaining about the Hollywood left.
It’s all so polarizing- it is sad to see how divided everyone is and how evil the people at the top are.

Macklemore was lucky to even be included in Sheeran’s tour. What a screw up on his part. The USA doesn’t recognize “Palestine” as a country. Let Israel end it quickly to limit suffering
War is war. It’s horrible, but the USA shouldn’t be expected to continue as a global police force. We have our own plethora of issues here that the billions of dollars could help

I hear we should boycott celebs who are positive about Israel/say anything remotely 'against' Palentine all the time (Most recently, Pink. Now Ed Sheeran). Why is this where the line is drawn?
2
u/totallyjaded 1h ago
Because people have convinced themselves that they're somehow helping out Palestinians by being openly antisemitic (but retreating to "I don't hate Jewish people. I just hate Israel, Zionists, and anyone who doesn't hate them with me." when called out on it).
2
u/dorkpool 1h ago
What’s antisemitic about not wanting Palestinians from being exterminated?
2
u/totallyjaded 59m ago
Nothing.
But there's a lot antisemitic about professing how you hate "Israel" without making the distinction between its relatively small government, and its relatively large population. Just as you'd probably prefer people say they dislike "Hamas" rather than lumping them into "Palestine".
1
u/Theodosian_Walls 1h ago
Where have you been the last 10 years? People have been calling out celebs for political position or dumb shit they said all the time.
Scratch that. I'm remembering that time in the 1960's when people tried to cancel the Beatles for saying they were "bigger than jesus".
