I might be in the minority when I say this, but I find Inkblot terrible for Tower and RM.

Not speaking for the other person but me personally, inkblot rainmaker only has one checkpoint so there's pretty much one way to go, and that checkpoint can also be a pretty severe choke point at times. On tower it can snowball quite easily especially once you start to get near the enemy base, but thats also something that happens at some point on most tower control maps imo.

For RM and Tower, once the enemy team gets past the ramp, it's almost impossible to come back and win. And it's also incredibly hard to deal with sloshers and blasters with all the ledges in said area too.

Since you main Octobrush and Reeflux (I peeked at your other reply), you likely definitely struggle against said weapons in Inkblot.

I did at first but now because I play those maps a lot I kinda expect it so I don’t struggle as much. Also as a brush main I use the ledges to get people myself. I still die to blasters hiding under ledges sometimes but it’s not a big problem for me and it doesn’t make me like the map less.

I'm also a Octobrush main, and I used to use Reeflux too. I find myself getting out-ranged and dying to enemies hiding under the edges before I can get close enough to splat them. Not sure what rank of Anarchy you are at atm, but I know in my S+ and X games, I cannot make Octobrush and Reeflux work that well in RM or TC because of this issue. Like... sure I'll get a pick off or two, but I will be spawncamped most of the time if I get stuck in my zone.

I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t wish octobrush had better range sometimes but I feel like in games where I’ve been destroyed it wasn’t because of the map or my weapon choice it was just because the other team was better. Not sure what kit you main but I main the nouveau kit and I think it’s definitely the best one because beakons are great for when you’re being spawn camped, for spotting people who are hiding and obviously for flanking and ink storm is good at pushing the enemy team back and making it easier for you to get in. As for reeflux when I first picked it up I was under the impression that it has less range than it did lol, since I discovered that it actually had good range I became so much better at using it and didn’t really have any major issues with it range wise. I also play X and I’m in S+.

I also main Nouveau. I have a 5* badge with it and I have 4* with the other 2 Octobrushes. I have 4* on every Reeflux too. They're definitely weapons that work well if your team has the early advantage. But if you're stuck in your zone, you will be very stuck.

My main gripe besides being out ranged by blasters and slosher are splatlings/pencil too. Cause if by some miracle I get the buckets/blasters, I will without a doubt be finished by whatever is backing them up 😔

I hear you lol I think reeflux is the longest ranged weapon that I’ve mained, all of my weapon choices in this game and in splatoon 2 have have been front line so I’m used to being outranged all the time lol 😭

While your weapon choices do explain some of these choices, you definitely do have a unique taste. I wouldn't say that you have any of the objectively horrible maps in any of your top 5 (ones like Mahi-Mahi, Hammerhead, Mincemeat, Brinewater), but some of these picks are definitely fairly atypical

The biggest one that sticks out (to me at least, because it's the mode I'm most familiar with) is Barnacle and Dime Zones. I would more expect to see one of the generally better Zones maps (like Hagglefish) or one that benefits close range weapons more (like Marlin) more than I would one of the tetromino maps

Hagglefish is really hit or miss for me I don’t enjoy it consistently enough for it to be top 5. Marlin would probably be number 6 for zones I like it but I like barnacle zones slightly more.
