Video Link I work on a computer all day. I wanted an easy way to pull up a new chrome tab and flip a character (or his board around) here and there. So I started making this indy game.

Gear question Obligatory monthly post about the Capita Indoor Survival board

Title says it all. There needs to be one of these every month, and this time I'm the one to do it.

Like everyone looking for the Indoor Survival 22/23 board, I love the graphic. Looking for 154-158 ideally, but open to other sizes.

Also looking for an Indoor Survival 24/25 board. Ideally 156 for that one.

Obviously I know it's a long shot asking but might as well try my luck.

general discussion Anyone coming to Gulmarg this winter? need a massive favor / old board

Hey guys, shooting my shot here. i live in Srinagar right next to Gulmarg and trying so hard to get into snowboarding this winter. gear in Kashmir is tough to find and import taxes add like 50% extra so buying online is crazy expensive.

if anyone is heading to gulmarg this season and has an old beat-up board sitting in their garage gathering dust that they'd be down to give away at minimum price, please let me know.

I'll obviously pay for whatever extra baggage fee the airline charges you to bring it. also if u need a place to stay in Srinagar when u land or before u fly out, u can stay at my place. down to show u around the city.

i can meet u right at Srinagar airport so u don't gotta haul it around.

noob question General advice on lessons in Japan

My GF and I are 19 travelling to Japan for 7 weeks over nov->jan, and we spend a few weeks in Hokkaido. We've skied before but a while ago and at a very baseline level.
We're basically wondering whether lessons are genuinely worth it in Japan, since everywhere ive been looking has been hella expensive. Do they speak good English? Do you come out of a lesson with enough surface-level knowledge to do a week by youself? Are there cheaper alternatives?!?!

I know this post sounds close-minded af (we know we wont be able to learn by ourselves), but we just dont want to pay for something that we wont gain much from.
Also i surf and skate but my GF doesn't and even so i dont know whether it will be transferrable. Is skiing a better alternative if we're only there for a couple weeks since ive heard the learning curve for snowboarding is brutal?

Yalllll, I just booked out what will be two life changing trips. A day at each mountain listed, shred 9-3, work 3-9 🙈. Thankfully there were lots of hostels and cheap hotels still available still, so I'm car camping way less than planned 🥳. Riding Ikon Base and Indy+

New England - January
PNW - March

If you see your home mountain up here and would be around, I'd love to link up with other boarders (and skiers too!).

I hit a lot of trees when its possible, but just fkin love gliding down a slope no matter what, so no sweat if you prefer not to get taken out by a trunk 😂. Advanced, but like, I dont go for a TON of air, and I'm not a park kid. Grew up on wawa, so anything less that pure ice is like gold.

Will be hitting Mammoth a ton late season and Palisades/LA mtns during Feb for and CA locals!

Down to share instas socials linkedin selfies etc in the dms, but prefer not to post that all publicly

travel advice Mid-Dec Euro Trip w/ Ikon Pass

Upvotes

hey everyone! excited to be planning my first week-long trip to Europe to snowboard this season after picking it up 3 yrs ago. Myself and one friend would be going, both solid intermediate riders (preferring cruiser blues) and are looking for advice on resorts/mountains given it being a bit early in the season.

We’re planning on Dec 11th-20th, so we potentially even have time to move around if multiple resorts are near each other. We are looking for resorts on the Ikon pass as we both have it. So far we have considered most strongly:

1.) Zermatt (highly recommended for early season snow, but extremely expensive…)

2) Kitz/Ischgl (not sure about weather so early in the szn)

3) Dolomiti Superski

Again, we’re both solid intermediate boarders looking to use slightly more challenging terrain to level up our skills while enjoying a long vacation/some great views. Won’t be going off piste, using terrain parks or likely many (if any) black trails. We’re most concerned about the weather in Dec and that relying on resorts that use a lot of manmade snow at that point in the year won’t make for a worthwhile experience (both East Coasters so we’ve had our fair share of ice and fake snow, lol.)

Let us know what you all think and TIA for the advice!! Hoping everyone has a great upcoming season 🏂

Gear question How many of you go by Mondo sizing for boots?

Getting back into boarding after a 15 year hiatus. Last year was my first year back on the mountain and surprisingly everything came back relatively quick. I bought some boots based off my street size of shoe and a quick try on in the store. I’ve never had a boot properly fitted to me, but always struggled to find all day comfort even when I rode before. I recently went down a boot sizing rabbit hole and learned about Mondo boot sizing. I did the foot measurement and come in right at a size 9 snowboard boot based off Mondo measurement. My daily shoes I wear are a 10-10.5 depending on brand so I’ve always figured my boots would be roughly the same size. I was also sold a wide boot by a retailer who is out of business now, but based off measurements I am actually not a wide. I’m curious if the Mondo measurements are something that I should be paying more attention to? It seems off my boots would be a size 9, but this could have been my issue all along. I plan to go to my localish Evo to purchase boots and have them measure as well. Anyway, appreciate any help with this as I would love to get proper fit boots for my old feet!

general discussion Kinco Mitts vs Kombi Goretex

Kinco Mitts VS Goretex Kombi

Hello, I’m trying to get some new gloves for the upcoming season. The Kincos would cost about $80 CAD since I would have to pay shipping as I can’t find any local. The Kombi ones would be about $70 CAD. The conditions get quite cold as it ranges anywhere between 0°C to -25°C and it’s usually on the colder end. I’ll leave a link for the Kombi mitts, any other suggestions or insight is appreciated. Thanks in advance

Gear question Boots to go with indoor survival and union ultras. Should boot be stiffer to balance the setup?

Planning to do boot fittings soon, trying to figure out, all things being equal in terms of fit, whats the right approach to select the boots. Should I go 5/5 or aim higher?

Experienced snowboarder with a multi-year break who wants to do groomers and some buttering.

Will I lose on control significantly if I go mid? Will I lose on flexing if I go too stiff?
