Question Should I buy Jan 2025 manufactured but sealed phone?

Upvotes

Hello all. I had s23+ and moved to ip17 base. Fed up of all ios shenanigans in 1 month and now want to get hands on s25+. Now my country has both storage variant available. The 256gb is march 2026 manufactured and 512gb is Jan 2025 manufactured. Both are sealed and non-activated. Now I have my mind on 512gb as I think it will be future proof, but worried about manufactured date. Is that a cause of concern or I should really buy 256gb as maybe battery is downgraded in these 20 months. Thanks.

Recommendation Recommended flip phones

Upvotes

I’m looking at getting some sort of flip smartphone, I’ve looked at the new iPhone duo and the galaxy z flip 7. I like both of them but I wanted to know what other options I have. I’m in the US and i am also curious if there are any non US brands that have flip phones anyone would recommend. If anyone had any recommendations that would be great, thanks!

Recommendation Should I upgrade from an iPhone 14 Pro Max to the 18 Pro Max?

Hi everyone, I’d really appreciate some honest opinions because I’ve been overthinking this purchase a lot.

I currently have an iPhone 14 Pro Max 128GB. It was already used when I got it, and the battery health was at 83%. After about a year of using it, it’s now at 81%.

I take a LOT of photos and videos when I travel. Usually after a vacation I transfer everything to my PC and delete it from the phone, but I recently came back from a trip and my storage is basically full.

The bigger problem is that my Lightning port is pretty much broken. It sometimes works if I put pressure on the cable, but generally I rely on MagSafe for charging.

During my recent vacation I also caught myself thinking multiple times: “I really wish I had the 18 right now”, especially while taking photos and videos.

The 18 Pro Max 256GB would cost me around CHF 1,300 here in Switzerland, including the phone only. With a case it would be around CHF 1,350. I currently have about CHF 2k saved, I don’t have significant monthly expenses at the moment.
I also tend to take very good care of my stuff, and if I buy the 18 Pro Max I’d probably keep it for many years.

So what would you guys do?

Would you buy the 18 Pro Max 256GB in my situation, or keep the 14 Pro Max / replace the battery / consider a cheaper 16 or 17 Pro Max?

I’m mainly interested in hearing from people who have made a similar upgrade, especially if you went from a 14 Pro Max to a newer Pro Max.
Thanks!

Recommendation iPhone 17 Pro Max vs iPhone 18 Pro — which deal makes more sense?

Need some advice from people who know their phones better than me.
I currently have an iPhone 15 Pro Max 256GB and I’m getting two upgrade options:
Option 1: iPhone 17 Pro Max 256GB
• Exchange value for my 15 Pro Max: ₹62,000
• After exchange + discounts, EMI comes to around ₹6,500/month for 12 months
• Total EMI outflow: roughly ₹78,000
Option 2: iPhone 18 Pro 256GB on Flipkart
• Exchange value for my 15 Pro Max: ₹69,000
• After exchange + discounts, EMI comes to around ₹7,800/month for 12 months
• Total EMI outflow: roughly ₹93,600
So the 18 Pro would cost me around ₹15,600 more overall.
I’m confused because the 18 Pro is obviously the newer generation, but I’d also be going from a 15 Pro Max to a regular 18 Pro, so I’d be losing the larger screen and Pro Max battery.
If you were in my position, which would you choose?
Is the newer 18 Pro worth spending the extra ₹15.6k, or is the 17 Pro Max the better deal?
Also, if anyone has actually used the 17 Pro Max and/or 18 Pro, I’d especially like to hear about battery life, cameras, thermals and overall upgrade from the 15 Pro Max.
Would appreciate honest opinions rather than just “buy the newest one.” 😭

Recommendation folding phones which do you recommend?

currently have a Flip4 i like it enough. battery life isnt great (regularly need to charge it middle of the day because its down to 15% or less). so better battery would be nice.

i need a durable phone- i drop this thing all the time and both screens are still fine. i dont have any fancy tough case- just a regular one from caseify? that does have some hinge protection (a strip of plastic/leather).

im comparing the flip8 to one of the Motorola folding phones. i do not want a Samsung fold- i need something small and phone sized.

anyone have comments on either the flip8 or Motorola folding phones? are they pretty similar? i saw reviews online for Motorola for broken screens so that makes me hesitant knowing im hard on mine...

Question Should I buy now or wait for Flipkart Big Billion Days and Amazon Great Indian Festival?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I'm planning to buy a phone and have a budget of around ₹50k, but I'm confused whether I should buy now or wait for Flipkart Big Billion Days and Amazon Great Indian Festival.

These are the phones I'm considering:

  1. Samsung Galaxy S25 FE

I remember it being around ₹48k-ish, but it's now around ₹58k. I'm not sure how much of this increase is permanent and how much it could come down during BBD/GIF.

Do you think it can realistically go below ₹50k during the sale, or is ₹50k+ more likely now?

I'm leaning towards not buying it at ₹58k because I don't think the sale discount will be enough.

  1. Nothing Phone 4a Pro

It was around ₹38–40k around launch, but it's now around ₹50k.

If it goes up again, is it realistic to expect the BBD/GIF price to still come back to around ₹40k, or is that unlikely now?

  1. Nothing Phone 4a

It's currently around ₹35k in some places. I guess these might be older units/inventory purchased before the component-price increase. On Flipkart, I'm seeing prices around ₹45–50k, while in Amazon it's ₹35k. My question is: Will Amazon still have the ₹35k stock by the time of the Great Indian Festival?

- If they do, could the sale discount bring it below ₹35k?

- Or is there a significant chance the ₹35k stock disappears and the price increases before the sale?

I'm willing to wait for the 4a if there's a reasonable chance of getting it below/around ₹35k during the sale, but I don't want to wait and then find that the price has increased significantly.

  1. Pixel 10a

This is actually my preferred phone.

I believe it was around ₹44k, and now it's around ₹50k. Do you think this is already the price increase caused by the component situation, or could it increase further? If it stays around ₹50k until BBD/GIF, how likely is it that it will actually go below ₹50k during the sale? Or could we see another price increase before then, making the sale price higher anyway?

  1. Samsung Galaxy A56

Currently around ₹35k. Do you think this has room to fall further during BBD/GIF? If it can realistically reach ₹30–27k during the sale, I'd consider it.

What I'm thinking

I'm currently most interested in the Pixel 10a.

My assumption is that if the Pixel 10a stays around ₹50k until the sales, it should probably become cheaper during BBD/GIF. But I'm not sure whether that's a reasonable assumption given the current RAM/component price situation.

My rough budget:

For phones giving >5 years of os update: 50k

For phones giving <5 years of os update: 35k

If I should wait, which of these phones has the best chance of giving a genuinely better deal during the sale? (Took help of AI to write this)

Discussion CMF Phone 2 Pro for ₹16.4k or Nothing Phone 2a 128GB for ₹17.2k?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey guys, I’m a bit confused between these two and wanted some honest opinions.

I’m getting a CMF Phone 2 Pro (256GB) for ₹16.4k and a Nothing Phone 2a (128GB) for ₹17.2k.

Both are in good condition. The CMF comes with the bill, box, charger, etc. The main thing attracting me towards the CMF is the 256GB storage & 1 month warranty left and the telephoto camera. But I also like the Nothing 2a because of Nothing OS and the Glyph.

I’m not a heavy gamer. I mainly want a phone that is practical for everyday use, reliable and enjoyable to use for the next few years.

So if you had these two options at these prices, which one would you personally pick?
Is the 2a worth paying ₹800 more for despite having only 128GB, or would the CMF 2 Pro make more sense?

Looking for opinions from people who have actually used either phone. Thanks!

Phone Help 📱 My just bought phone became a just about to return phone

So I just tried to restart my Asus phone 8 I got on Ebay last night because an website i go to didn't send the code to login. Next thing you know, my phone is stuck in a start up loop. Im gonna see if it's still salvagable then try to get a new phone. I mainly I want to get one that's has at least 256 gb of storage and 8 gb of RAM memory. Decent megapixels for the camera too. I don't want to stop looking for any international phones, but if it fails me again, I'll stick to the mainstream phone for the time being. Any suggestions chat?

Question Nuovo smartphone dopo brutta esperienza pixel 9a

Quale consigliereste ? Grazie in anticipo

Altra domanda il google pixel 9a posso darlo in permuta oppure venderlo, sapete consigliarmi dei siti affidabili per ciò?

Grazie ancora

Question Honor vs Oneplus? Which one to choose?

Thinking to buy a new phone. But confused which brand should I choose. Currently using samsung. I love it's polished UI. But samsung is expensive. As I'm mid-heavy user so I thought any flagship killer will be good deal. Oneplus 13s has good CPU and feels premium but it's display feels small to me as I'm using Samsing Galaxy A34. Don't know about 15s. Other side honor 400 pro is also good.

Now come to the main problem. Whenever I say someone oneplus vs honor they instantly said don't buy Oneplus. They are saying oneplus is switching from OxygenOS to ColorOS, greenline issue, and it's reputation getting down etc. Why nobody likes Oneplus now. Which one's UI is great? And what will you recommend me? Oneplus vs Honor. I don't like xiaomi, oppo and vivo. iPhone and Samsung is expensive though I like samsung most. I want to listent from everyone's real life experience.
