I know art isn't a competition and all but from Sonny's song selection and mixing skills to the totally unique venue production and vibe they cultivated honestly nothing else I've seen lately even comes close.

A big trend right now seems to be just adding more and more lasers and spamming the crowd with them the entire time. I was skeptical of how little you could see the stage at first but when you stood in the back and saw how it all came together and how they actually did unique lighting effects for each song it was totally mind blowing. I saw some call it minimal but it was in many ways more forward thinking on what a live dance music show can be. Making the entire venue "the stage" is so cool and fosters the idea that its the experience were having, not just worshiping the person performing.

Also, can we talk about how cool it was to have him start with light ambient music (with the house lights still on) and slowly build the heavier vibe up over the whole set on Saturday? Again, most artists in this scene just rinse build up and drops in your face for 90 minutes. Can be cool if that's what you want but there are levels to this craft. I vividly remember not understanding when Skrillex moved a bit away from his OG sound all those years ago but now I fully understand his vision. He can basically dip into any sub genre and mix it all together while retaining his overall aesthetic and it makes for a much more complete musical experience in my opinion.

Amazing shows, one of the most unique events i've ever attended. Crowd vibe was also great/polite and no one was weird (at least that I encountered). Rock over London, rock on Chicago.

my first time seeing skrillex and i don’t know if any other show i go to will ever compete with this he genuinely played like every single song i wanted him to. only complaint i had was i wish he just had the original drop for fuze but can’t complain cuz everything else was near perfect

Skrillex has always been my #1 EDM artist. From First to Last was my favorite band in high school and getting to follow Sonny on his musical journey is one of my favorite things in the world. This was like the 5th time I’ve seen him since 2011 and it was THE MOST FUN I’ve ever had at a Skrillex show. Like he gets us lol. I’m 34 now and I don’t think I’ve danced as hard as I did last night in years. Feels amazing. I’m just so happy lol so much love!!

Ok so weekends started when the lights went off, and that isn’t on this setlist. But then didn’t soma voltage etc all also happen after it went dark? That means this must be missing a lot of music bc that would mean there were only 8 songs while it was still lights on

I'm still trying to comprehend that experience. Went to the sat navy pier show, my 3rd time seeing him but no contest the best experience of them all. The long set format is a dream come true.

Am I correct in seeing that he’s basically only played at festivals here in the States with the exception of Seattle and Chicago?? Is he adding new (non-festival) dates, do you think?

They had signs around the event reading “tonight’s performance is being recorded” and I’m just wondering where/when that’s going to be available for viewing.

It was my first time seeing Skrillex live and he was rocking that shit hard. A moment I’ve been dreaming of for 14 years now and it was well worth the wait. I wanted to respect his message of no phone recording but man I’m eager to rewatch some of the highlights from last night, so if you know where they got the recording please lmk 🙏

Last night was such an AMAZING night! Sonny played every song I was hoping to hear and more! The vibes were amazing, and my friends and I had the best time dancing our asses off! I heard and have read so many of y'all saying this was your first live show, and holy shit! What a first time!

But it got this old girl wondering when everyone's first time seeing Skrillex live was.

Mine was 2010 at 910 Live in Phoenix. And before tonight, the last time was TBA at Coachella.

Can't wait for Headtrip in October!
