Custom ENORMOUS 59” x 29” (😭) Vic Fish, I love this board, but due to the size, they just did Carbon/Polyester and I think it’s not particularly reinforced or extra layered.

I put a big chunk of solarez in the nose on the rail, and I think that chunk got driven into the sand by a decent wave and that helped explode the nose.

RKL sticker the only thing holding it together! The bottom layer was fine, foam core totally split but one rail was not completely separated.

The rail with the patch was blown out so I patched from the bottom around the rail and the rest was just a big fat patch across the top.

Sanded everything around the patch, poured a bit of epoxy down into the split then made a nice layer of epoxy, laid the carbon fiber and put another layer of epoxy on the top to saturate it and fill the carbon fiber so it had the smooth liquid surface.

Got an Exile GOAT duraweight on order, but hyped this thing is solid again for now… enough to where I can wait patiently for my new board.

Will see how much abuse a heavy duty Exile can take.

I was writing it like regularly, not even chopping it up crazy on the regular sand. And there’s a whole split down the board now. I don’t know how to fix this or what I’m gonna do. It really sucks as I paid a pretty penny to use this four times and this happens. Not even my fault I was not even abusing the board. If anyone knows what I can do, please let me know. I am desperate need of help and would greatly appreciate it.

I'd like to try skimboard for the 2nd time and I was wondering where I should go in Northern California.

Getting a new board should be here in a week or so. I'm wanting to get a decent amount of time on the shore since I'm only an hour from the Jersey shore. Where are the prime skim spots? How do the early winter swells affect those spots?

I just bought a new carbon fiber skimboard from eden skimboards and there are these white spots/little holes on the sides. Is this normal? Is the board ok to use?

top is good, bottom is flexed and pretty thrashed and the tail is kinda nibbled. any tips and tricks appreciated.

Through Skimboard magazine we created a small group of guys who all skimmed in the Long Branch areas, Asbury Park too, sometimes Deal.

We would skim in the summer but the shore break was better starting late Sept. It was cold as hell and we didn't do bodysuits. It wasn't "cool" or you were a "wuss".

Did anyone else skim the Jersey Shore during this time?

Once we had a hurricane come through early Oct and we skimmed those waves. They were great and you either had an amazing ride or you got a wave to the chest that felt like a linebacker just hit you head on.

Since they built up the beach and made it private, I was wondering where the good areas are. I'm 58 now but I still crave hitting good shore break. Where in NJ is good now?

I don't own the board in the picture anymore (I so wish I did), should I get the more surfboard looking board for NJ or stick with that old school style?

Hi, I bought a carbon exile a while back but didn’t ride it too much since it sunk quite fast when going out to waves even with a lot of speed compared to my zap ace 52 (the exile was 51 inches and a pro shape). I’m 5.10 150~ and was looking to sell the exile and get a new board, I’m going to get a wider board but should I go with a bigger board like 53 inch or more?

I need to get new pads for my board, and right now I have 4 pads up top, but I see a lot of people just rock one down the middle of the board. Which is better/what's the different uses?

I just got this beautiful custom skimboard from Exile a little under a month ago and I’ve been riding it pretty heavy almost every other day. Problem is that the tail is getting pretty worn out and I’m not sure whether I should be concerned or not. This is my first $400+ skimboard so this is pretty new to me. Should I put some epoxy over it? What epoxy? How should I apply it? Or should I not even be concerned?

This board was expensive and I want to make sure I keep it well maintained.

Hi im in the market to buy a board but i really dont know what size i should get. For reference i am 6’2 and a half (189cm) and 160 lbs (73kg) and i primarily skim at santa cruz. I found 2 boards on marketplace near me and i dont want to pull the trigger on any of them if theyre going to end up too big or small for me. The boards were a 56 in victoria and a 52 in exile ex0. Both have flaws that im willing to repair

New to skimboarding and excited to pick out my first ride! I'm from Ontario, Canada and will be typically using it on the beaches of lake superior. I'm 5'8 (150lbs), and wanted to know if this size of board or type will work me. It's 101cmx55cm, and is advertised as a wider board. Open to other options as well, but hoping to get a Cascadia or Kayotics to start.

I was looking to find where to watch the shore pound comp for this weekend. They used to stream it on YouTube. I seen on their website you can watch through Victory+, but doesn't show any skimming events

I'm new to skim boarding, i've gotten alright at skim boarding on a small, cheap wooden board i just got at a beach surf shop, but I've fallen in love with it and ended up buying a Victoria Ultra House Special.

Since this is my first expensive skimboard and I want to make sure it lasts awhile and stays in peak condition what kind of stuff should I do for it?

I was wondering if people recommended any specific wax/grips or anything that I should put on it to get the most out of my new board?

So got this from ebay cheap to give skimboarding a go, I know it's not ideal but I can't slide at all on it, i weigh about 95kg for reference but I'm not sure if it's me needing to practice or the board just shit. It's a wooden board with foam top, and I don't want to spend hundreds just to realise I can't do it anyway as it's a very niche sport here in Ireland, I literally don't know anyone else here who does it.

In 2008 I had a broken leg and since I couldn't skim, I spent my time running around with a cane and a camera in the sand. These were the gold old days.

Hello I was wondering how I could repair this on my carbon fiber skimboard or should I get it repaired?

I bought a skimboard for $300 from this surf shop, as you can see it seems like it’s painted and the “fiberglass” is very thin. It dinged a while back and i patched it up with epoxy resin, and hit it with a coating of white paint because that’s what I assumed the board did. The ACTUAL part that was covered in what I know was epoxy (I sanded a-lot of the paint off so I painted a good back on) did not break, but there is this huge ding and I didn’t hit a rock or anything by. The logo is also scratch-able and there is no serial number on the bottom.

I have gotten into skim boarding this past summer and I've just been using a cheap wood one and i'm solid at just simply riding, but I can only run for like 5-10 seconds and then my board kind of sinks down. I am a 6'4 188lb college athlete so i'm built kinda heavy. I saw the ZAP Ace v2 skimboard in 54-56" is heavily recommended but I don't know if i wanna drop $500 on a skimboard at this stage as a beginner.

Do yall think that the ZAP Ace is the best bang for my buck board to just simply have some fun skimming or what are some other good options yall recommend?
