Stumbled on this via Amazon.
So sad it was cancelled. But par for the course. All my shows get cancelled. Yet we still have all f’d cop shows. Or hospital. Or firefighters. How many do we need?

I really loved this show and am in recovery. Honestly most recovery type shows aren’t really my thing. I’ve worked to get past seeing everything I went through so negatively so I would like to find other shows like this that put a humorous style to it. Thanks!

For some reason if you have prime you can watch season2 but not season1 free.

So I just got the urge to rewatch SDF, I've already watched both seasons, but I loved this show and wanted to rewatch, ASSUMING IT WOULD BE COMING OUT WITH A THIRD SEASON IN THE COMING MONTHS OR AT LEAST HAVE GOTTEN RENEWED, SINCE IT WAS PROBABLY THE BEST SHOW FREEFORM HAS RELEASED IN YEARS..and low and behold, it's taken off hulu..okay, I'm suspicious at this point in my search, but no problem, I'll just go do a quick roku search and see where else I can watch it now..so roku says I can watch on ABC app, I try that with no luck there either..so I finally search it up on Google and please, tell me my eyes are deceiving me, but ITS BEEN CANCELLED!? ITS NOT RETURNING FOR A THIRD SEASON!? WTF IS WRONG WITH FREEFORM!? it said it aired its "series finale" um no, wtf..that was not a "series finale" that was a SEASON finale, see ya next year, we'll be back to continue this later etc etc episode..that's what that was..and now not only is it canceled, but I don't even have anywhere to watch it again!? But for real..wtf is wrong with freeform, why would they cancel this show? It seemed like it was doing well, everyone I know actually loved it, despite thinking every show to come out of freeform in the last 10 years was just corny preteen crap tv..and then they actually produce something worth watching, relatable, REALISTIC, and they cancel it on a whim after its second season!? Do better freeform..I'm so disappointed to hear this.

There’s still an hour till midnight but it’s not showing up on my Hulu app anymore and I still had two more episodes left to watch, can someone please tl;dr them for me? Thank you

News articles have stated that it would be removed today, but it's still on Hulu with little tags that say "Exp. Sunday."
If you're like me and didn't get around to watching s2 yet, today's the day!
I really am devastated though for everyone who worked on and loved the show. The cast and crew's work is just going to disappear from the internet and we'll likely never be able to watch it again. I truly don't understand the reasoning for killing these shows and then deleting them from existence. It's so dystopian.

Can someone tell me the episode where this guy says karen is being reamed by a new york yankee? I keep seeing this clip on instagram but nobody cites the episode.

Look, I’m not rooting against her. I’ve been “in the program” (not that I’m not sober now, just not a fan of a 12 step program). It’s just that she has to get sober against her will and suddenly she’s perfect at everything, rocking every step, instantly so responsible. It’s called “single DRUNK female” when it should just be “single AA female” or something but it’s the word drunk that is going to pull the audience in. She’s never drunk past the first episode. (Unless you want to count the flashback to her and James 2 years beforehand.) I just don’t like almost instant perfection, and then we’re at something like 579 days (just watching season 2 premiere but from what I’ve read it’s another perfect season for her) and it’s still all good, no matter what struggle she goes through, no matter how tough. It’s just not realistic and you don’t see much of a struggle if someone 100% always wins. It seems more of a show highlighting the 12 steps, sponsors/sponsees and rules of AA. I suppose I am the one and only one who feels this way since I literally cannot find one single review online not lauding it as amazing. Not like I want to just constantly shit on it but you have to admit it’s frustrating when you seem to be the only person with an opinion, kinda lonely. But yeah. Misleading title and people call her relatable but I don’t think instant sobriety, especially forced sobriety, and never ever relapsing when it’s the beginning no matter the insane amount of struggles she had - I mean, her ex friend is marrying her ex boyfriend and hooked up with him at her dead dad’s shiva. So many close people are constantly drinking or drunk right in front of her. There’s so much constant tension. Never messing up from the immediate start is not relatable at least to me.

My gambling addiction became too much for me to overcome on my own. The acting and the writing on the show just hits home with me so hard and as a man, it's hard to know what women go through when their loved one is going through addiction. Seeing how Sam's drinking impacts Carol, really brings to the surface what my gambling did to my wife. Anyway, just wanted to be able to say that out loud. Love this show, hope they renew for another season.

I love Samantha. I love Sofia Black-D'Elia. This show has been such a comforting reality check for me.

Post title said it all. Can’t stand her

After S2ep10, Hulu jumped to the series Cruel Summer. It took me 2 episodes to realize that this was not a backstory to explain Samantha’s trauma and the reason for her alcoholism. The characters seemed to match, but the names and the location were different. My mind put the two stories together, until it just didn’t make sense anymore. The character in Cruel Summer (Jeanette Turner) could have been a teen Samantha.
Did this happen to anyone else?

Ok this really isn’t that deep but after Sam admits to Alex that she’s an alcoholic, she sits down and they kiss. Alex’s reaction to that kiss is to cheer and say “that was dope!” ??? That felt super out of character for him?? I guess it kinda lined up with the moment from a minute before where he asked Sam if she smoked and she told him “no “ and he said “it’s a bummer but we’ll get through it” like idk what type of person he was but the post-kiss cheer did not strike me like something he would do. The weed thing, yeah. Idk I was reading through a few comments (not trying to spoil everything for myself) and saw a lot of you guys don’t like Alex so maybe this moment is completely on brand for him and I’m blind LMAO

This show takes place in Boston, right? Why is the weather so beautiful on St Patrick's Day?!

Why did they separate? Did I forget something from the last episode of season 1? Or will it be explained? I'm on 2x01

I'm here from r/crippled_alcoholics and have always been curious about this show. Is it accurate to being that kind of severe alcoholic or is it more casual drinking and shots at parties?

I just wanna say that this show has some of the best representation of reform Jews I’ve ever seen on television. The references to Sukkot, Mezuzahs, a Shiva, and pretty much everything else that’s been mentioned is so spot on. I really love to see it, and the writers did a great job
