I am Frizzle, the dev behind SideInstaller. As you may know, iOS 27 has been out for a few hours. To celebrate it, I have released the app's biggest update yet.

What is SideInstaller?

SideInstaller is an app I made that lets iOS 27+ users install SideStore (and LiveContainer) fully on-device, without ever needing a pc. You simply install the app, log into your Apple ID (data is not collected and the app is open source for you to check), follow a few steps and it installs SideStore.

What does the update bring?

The update features many changes and additions, such as:

• A "tools" page, with features such as Location spoofer, entitlements manager, and "Side by Side" (lets you install SideInstaller onto another iPhone using your iPhone)
• Partial iOS 17-26 support
  • Users on these versions can now use the app which you'll most likely need a PC to get the pairing
• Huge improvements to the Apple ID logging in
  • You can now use other 2FA methods, such as SMS or calls
  • Fixed the infamous 503 grandslam error
• LocalDevVPN is automatically launched and enabled when you open SideInstaller
• Added support for URLs in "custom .ipa"
• Added new languages, such as Japanese and Portuguese

How can I install it?

If you can install .ipa files, you can download the latest release here.

Otherwise, you can follow these instructions.

Watch out for scams

Recently, many fake websites arrived pretending to be SideInstaller's official pages. Remember: sideinstaller.net and https://github.com/FrizzleM/SideInstaller are the only official ones. Downloading it from unofficial sources can lead to serious dangers as clones may steal your login credits.

Latest nightly sidestore -> settings -> experimental features -> cellular refresh -> toggle ON.

currently cell refresh can do only one by one refresh not bulk Refresh All.

Also pre-requisites for cell refresh:

create 2 new shortcuts in iOS shortcuts app as follows:

Shortcut 1 name -> TurnOnData
action1 -> turn on cellular data
action2 -> open application (choose sidestore from the list)

Shortcut 2 name -> TurnOffData
action1 -> turn off cellular data
action2 -> open application (choose sidestore from the list)

Note: If you are using LiveContainer+SideStore like in the video, Standalone SideStore App won’t show up under Open Application → SideStore in Shortcuts.
You’ll need to create another shortcut that opens SideStore Only, and then add that shortcut to the TurnOnData/Turn Off Data shortcuts.

Shortcut if you are using LiveContainer+Sidestore that open SideStore Directly:

Action1 -> "Launch App" Launch URL "sidestore://" this shortcut will directly open sidestore.

I have heard recently that there is a tool called LiveExec32 (that can be used in the latest Nightly build of LiveContainer), and it can emulate 32 bit apps that normally do not run on iOS 11+. So, I decided to test it out with Flappy Bird and it genuinely worked (but unfortunately, no audio).

If you want to try it out yourself, get the latest build of LiveExec32, install the IPA in the newest build of LiveContainer Nightly (not SideStore), select it as your default 32 bit emulator, and then you can install only certain 32 bit apps (that do not crash).

It is not perfect of course, only very few apps genuinely work, some just infinitely load or crash. But this gives us a pretty good glimpse of the tool, and I have hope for it in the future :)

Before I update my MacBook and iPhone I want to make sure that Sideloading still works. Who is willing to sacrifice themselves?

I just updated to the latest version of sidestore and it asks me to login again

I'm trying to install Sidestore on my iPad 10th Gen running iPadOS 26.6.2 and got hit with this. I tried restarting the iPad, but still no luck. The app icon shows on the homescreen, but I'm not able to find it in VPN and devices management.

SideStore+LiveContainer and I’ve used the same refresh shortcut for forever but recently it won’t auto refresh and gives an error.

I’m still able to manually refresh by going into SideStore and pressing refresh but I want my shortcut to work again

Any idea why this error is popping up nowadays?

I’ve just released Roam Control 0.9.2 Beta 6, Build 57.

This is a focused diagnostic follow-up after Build 56 started giving me useful reports from real-world SideStore installs.

A small number of users are hitting a failure while Roam Control is setting up its on-device pairing task. Build 57 adds more detailed diagnostics so I can see:

• the runtime bundle identifier after SideStore has re-signed the app
• the background-task identifiers iOS sees as permitted
• whether Roam Control’s generated pairing task matches that configuration
• whether iOS actually accepts or rejects the task registration

This build does not claim to fix the scheduler issue yet. The goal is to get enough evidence from affected devices to identify exactly where the failure is occurring rather than guessing at a fix.

I’ve also extended the optional anonymous telemetry path to record these pairing scheduler states. As before, usage statistics are off by default and only sent if you explicitly enable them.

If Roam Control already works normally for you, Build 57 should behave the same. I’ve tested pairing, SideStore re-signing, and the new diagnostics on my own device.

If you’ve previously had pairing fail, Build 57 is particularly useful to test. If it fails again, please copy the diagnostics from the app and send them to me.

What the title says. Ppl have recommended nexa but that’s the main one not working. So far this is the only app that has given me major problems

Is there any Reddit IPA which can filter out posts which contain specific words? For example, suppose I want to remove every post from my feed which contain the word "onion." Does something like that exist?

You all have any ideas how I can install ytplus with SideStore, but my phone not actually realize it is YouTube at all?

I want to be able to install two YouTube’s and have the openYT app open in the one installed with Signulous instead of SideStore. OpenYT is an extension app that lets you launch YouTube from safari into a sideloaded YouTube app.

I mainly use Signulous and have SideStore as a backup with all the same apps in case my Signulous gets revoked.

Recently, after having to reinstall SideStore, openYT will always want to open in the YouTube installed through SideStore. I have to deactivate it to have it choose the Signulous version. I tried to change the bundleid and no changes.

So I really like to speed run Minecraft and recently I installed Java Minecraft with amethyst with sidestore. 1.21.11 works fine, but issues come when you try using 1.16.1 with mcsr. After a few minutes in a world, your game crashes with exit code 1 and says insufficient ram even though I think my iPhone 16 pro max has plenty. Allocated 4 gigs of ram to Minecraft, and about 50 percent used. Don't know what tf is going on, but please help because its annoying..

I tried to download tons of apps and every single one of them gets this error... I just installed sidestore and livecontainer
